@AztecsDaleksAndCavemen @greggc72 So it is (according to the TardisWIki) - I always thought it was first used with DT.

@AlessandroArsuffi @JayAWhitcombe And did you notice the venusian aikido "Hai - Ya"? When he disarmed Robin just before they got captured?
I have a horrible feeling that Capaldi ISN'T the Doctor - either he believes he isn't, or he just *isn't*.
Robin says "I'm as real as you are"
And I haven't heard the theme called "I am the Doctor" so far this series.
I vote "neither". the doctor agrees with HFM to transport him to "the promised land", which he does. Then the remains fall onto the spire.

@Joseph Graham I thought that as I was watching - we have robot/cyborgs capturing humans to convert them (as spare parts, mainly) into new(repaired) robot/cyborgs.
Maybe another reboot of the cyb(us|er)men? or perhaps a "repeated meme"?

@kdconod @greggc72 We don't know what happened to River's body at the end of "Forest" - for all we know, it was "saved". I think River is more than capable of "fixing" the body - as happened to Ms Evangelista - possibly even with regenerations - the library users bodies were all "created" (again) when they were returned to "reality". but even if not, we don't know what sort of body Tasha Lem had - something special, to resist the Dalek's nanocloud (in TOTD) - it could be a robot/cyborg/genetic altered construct/clone/flesh avatar/something else. Any of these bodies could have River's personality downloaded into it.
As to the fact that the Lux library was 50th century - if only the Doctor had some way of storing HFM's personality -perhaps in a conveniently shaped (and overpowered) sonic device - and also a time machine, so he could take it to the 50th+ century.
My theory is...
We have only seen one "afterlife" - the one where 10 sent River, Ms Evangelista et al. - the Lux library.
"Half face man" is a cyborg, with, we can assume, some sort of robotic "personality" - ideally suited to be uploaded to a virtual reality.
We didn't see the final discussion between the Doctor, and HFM.
I still have my theory that Tasha Lem is River Song *after*
the Lux Library. She has been downloaded into a new body which doesn't
age (possibly a tesselecta - type thing?), at which point the Lux
Library became the "Papal Mainframe"
Then "Missy" is either another Avatar from the library, or possibly a corrupt version of River herself (or "MISS Evangelista?") - and HFM has been uploaded to the Papal Mainframe afterlife/the Lux Library as a way of both HFM AND the Doctor following their "basic programming" - ie, HFM didnt self-terminate, and the Doctor didn't murder him.
be nice if Capaldi only stays for one season, then Matt comes back to finish his "five year contract"
"I never forget a face"
"And maybe, sometime, you might revisit a few?"
