That's the best news I've heard from this season so far.  The Doctor is supposed to be someone unassuming who defeats his opponents through wit and intelligence, not someone who defeats his opponents by swaggering into a room and having them all drop what they're doing to bask in his magnificence.  Where people follow him out of curiosity and respect, not because they're smitten with him.

Honestly, I'd prefer a return to the Hartnell era of doing things where it was mostly the companions doing everything, and the Doctor was just along for the ride to provide them access to unusual methods of doing it.  The past few seasons have had too much of simply having the companions along as an audience to praise the Doctor.

@JoshThomas Japan actually did dub Series 1 and 2 of the rebooted series.  Hearing Japanese David Tennant try to fake a Scottish accent in "Tooth and Claw" was rather interesting.

I'll let the Doctor sum up my thoughts on this article:

"You let one of them go but that's nothing new. Every now and then a little victim's spared because she's adventurous, 'cause he's gay. 'Cause they're middle-aged. And that's how you live with yourself. That's how you disempower millions. Because once in awhile—on a whim, if the wind's in the right direction—you happen to be kind."
