I agree with the new look of the title sequence - the CGI cogs and clockwork motif are beautifully rendered and it's an interesting and dynamic improvement from the S7 Part 2 opening. Unlike its predecessor, the concept and visuals look more organized and well thought out (props to Billy Hanshaw for getting the opportunity to showcase his work). However, the CGI TARDIS still irks me as it did back in the previous opening. I can't quite put my finger on what's wrong: either the movement, lighting or texture. Still, this is only a (personally not) quite small nitpick. On the other hand there's the music... a reviewer commented on the new S8 music, saying that whilst the opening music should make you feel excited and pumped for the episode that follows, this just didn't cut it for him. I agree, as upon the first viewing I momentarily got awfully distracted from my excitement by the high-pitched "DOO WEE OOO". I don't dislike that they have tried to approach the original 1963 music, but they have overdone it a bit imo. Overall I'm (almost) really pleased with the opening visuals, it's only the music that ruins it for me.

Oooo, Matt is really regretting leaving, isn't he!? (or eager to repeat a Doctor-meetup episode - can't blame him though :D) I terribly excited to see what Peter brings to the role as The Doctor (after all, playing the part has been his childhood dream and he is an astounding actor, so lets give his the 'space and time' to enjoy his 'run' on the show), but I must admit that I miss Matt terribly! I still can't believe that my Doctor's time is up, so I'm all up for another multi-doctor story!

@Kiler1995 Not to be bleak or anything... but you do realize Eccleston would be like 100 years old by the time the 100th anniversary comes around (if he's still around D':)

Hiro's family didn't die in Hiroshima - his father is in a lot of series 1. His older sister is also alive. Also, Sylar's ability is Intuitive Aptitude - basically he knows how things work... and then he goes on to do a lot of terrible deeds in the series... sorry, but I just feel like clarifying - I love the series a lot. xD Other than that, cool article! :D Similarly, my favourite series before Doctor Who was Heroes :)

@Rena Misses Disqus @OnTheFieldsOfTrenzalore  Yeah - too true, I was thinking about that. A month or two prior to the episode would be alright to spare us from constantly thinking about it for too long.

I would rather have the announcement of the current Doctor leaving, as it allows the fans who love their Doctor to take in the fact that their favourite Doctor is leaving - sudden emotional shock is not always a great idea, specially if some of the fans grow attatched to a particular incarnation. However, it would have been interesting if they had kept the identity of the new Doctor as a secret until their debut episode airs. The speculation would be prolonged, fans would be kept hyped, interested and making theories on who the new Doctor is. The Oswin reveal in AOTD and the 8th Doctor's appearance in Night of The Doctor show that secrets CAN be kept even in this time where the internet and the press seem to spread spoilers instantly.
