Looking forward to the Doctor meeting Danny, Danny is very much the 9th Doctor, both were trying to hide their fresh battle scars but in different ways. With the new Doctor having "lifted his vail", Danny's going to bring out a lot of the Doctors long repressed emotions.

I saw it in the cinema so it's far more noticeable but Capaldi deliberately shows his teeth with a snarl at the climax, it was amazing acting which added weight to the possibly to the Doctor pushing him.

I haven't gone to far through the posts yet but no one is mentioning the "snarling Doctor" who literally bares his teeth in the climax, love the different direction they are taking the Doctor.

I was really impressed by Capalli, he knows exactly who his Doctor is. Smith seemed to play Tennants Doctor in the first few episodes until he found his own style.

I thought the very same thing, this Doctor needs a nemesis.

Engines of War was an enjoyable read although aimed purely at fans, anyone unfamiliar with the mythology will be completely ever whelmed. I also felt Mann put in to many doc who geek references which was distracting. He did nail Hurts speech pattern, his voice is heard in every line of dialogue. My favourite part of the book is a scene where Mann described the Doctor holding a gun in one hand and his sonic screwdriver in the other. That should have been adapted into the cover art.

I have the felling Capaldi will play the Doctor his way right from the start. It took a few episodes for Tennant and Smith to find their footing and move away from how their predecessor played it.

It's not a question if Time Travel movies work, it's if a decent Doctor Who script can be written. The anniversary should have been a chance to get new viewers, instead those I watched it with who didn't watch the show were completely confused and didn't understand what was going on. The Christmas special was the same thing. As a fan I had no problem keeping up but a movie will have to be the beginners guide to Doctor Who to get a wide audience, something which will annoy fans. A spin off is a good idea but what is Doctor Who without the Doctor.

Rory would have, he was only there because of Amy. Rory's one of my favourite companion as he understood how dangerous the Doctor is. Oh and the doctor from 8s movie turned him down.

I'm of the minority who would never travel with the Doctor, along with the inherent dangers at the end of the day you just a pet. Now the Doctor does care about his pets but they there to combat his loneliness and make him feel good about himself. When the pet "dies" the Doctor will pick just get himself a new pet and never discuss your or any previous pets with the new one like you were some object that got lost and was replaced.
