right - that's pretty much what I said in my post - the rifle above in the article is a cool replica, example, version, copy, etc of the rifle Owens used in the raid - the "actual rifle" would cost 3-5 times more and only available to high end military or leo who can possess a class III firearm - back to this article - I think this is a very cool idea and hope they sell out if them! if only I could convince my wife to let me get one - I would in a heart beat...

I think it was actually an HK 416 select fire rifle platform that was the actual rifle he was employing at the time (I'll have to go back and look in my copy of his book)... but this one is an excellent replica and does have some excellent upgrades on it!

really cool post - brought back some fond memories! when I was a kid my brothers and I would beg our mom or dad to drive us up to Hill Field Air Force Base in Utah so we could watch the Phantoms take off and land. We grew up 20 minutes away from there - id love to get a ride in one! even though they were slow - I think they still look so cool

Great article - I can definitely relate to this article. When I first git into shooting I had the same thoughts - I didnt want to just have some guns, I wanted a few that i could shoot a lot and get to know well. I first got a conceal carry pistol Glock 27, then a few months later i got a Glock 23, i like that i can use my 23 mags in my 27 and good grief there is so much out there for accessories, parts, and upgrades for them. Next I got my ar15, then a 12ga, and then a long range/hunting rifle - "covered my bases". I know these firearms really well and have pretty much stuck with them for a few years but I have started getting a few other pistols that I have wanted but I have noticed that I need to be careful so I don't buy anything that will just end up sitting in my safe. Now about 1911's, oh I could definitely become a 1911 lush!!! They are my "vice" in world of firearms - don't know what it is but there is just something about a 1911, especially a good 1911! I hope to some day I hope get a "premium" hand built 1911...

My friend just purchased a "civilian" Colt CQBP Marine Pistol and all I can say is that thing is absolutely incredible to shoot! Im postponing my Resco Watch purchase and parting with a few of my firearms I never thought I would so I can try to get one. I dont know if there is anything different between the civilian and actual MARSOC issue pistol (there has been a ton of debate on this also) but this is one HELL of a 1911 and if you can get one at or around the suggested retail of around $2000 it is money very well spent! I just hope I can find a dealer that has or can get one and willing to leave it at that price range...

There are so many multi-tools out there - but Paul makes an excellent point - buy a multi-tool based on your needs... I have 2 Leatherman multi-tools that I absolutely love an OHT and a Juice that make my EDC, I also have a Smith & Wesson multi-tool that was my fathers that I love - but I have very basic every day handyman and amature armorers needs so any of these mentioned here would suit me well....
