Great article - I can definitely relate to this article. When I first git into shooting I had the same thoughts - I didnt want to just have some guns, I wanted a few that i could shoot a lot and get to know well. I first got a conceal carry pistol Glock 27, then a few months later i got a Glock 23, i like that i can use my 23 mags in my 27 and good grief there is so much out there for accessories, parts, and upgrades for them. Next I got my ar15, then a 12ga, and then a long range/hunting rifle - "covered my bases". I know these firearms really well and have pretty much stuck with them for a few years but I have started getting a few other pistols that I have wanted but I have noticed that I need to be careful so I don't buy anything that will just end up sitting in my safe. Now about 1911's, oh I could definitely become a 1911 lush!!! They are my "vice" in world of firearms - don't know what it is but there is just something about a 1911, especially a good 1911! I hope to some day I hope get a "premium" hand built 1911...

Great article and great timing!  I am putting together a emergency/bugout bag for myself and then want to do the same for my wife and 3 kids (8, 14 and 16).  What size pack do you (or anyone else in here) recommend and brands/types do you like?  I have a few ideas but thought it would be good to see what others have done - thank you in advance for any thoughts and input!

My friend just purchased a "civilian" Colt CQBP Marine Pistol and all I can say is that thing is absolutely incredible to shoot! Im postponing my Resco Watch purchase and parting with a few of my firearms I never thought I would so I can try to get one. I dont know if there is anything different between the civilian and actual MARSOC issue pistol (there has been a ton of debate on this also) but this is one HELL of a 1911 and if you can get one at or around the suggested retail of around $2000 it is money very well spent! I just hope I can find a dealer that has or can get one and willing to leave it at that price range...

There are so many multi-tools out there - but Paul makes an excellent point - buy a multi-tool based on your needs... I have 2 Leatherman multi-tools that I absolutely love an OHT and a Juice that make my EDC, I also have a Smith & Wesson multi-tool that was my fathers that I love - but I have very basic every day handyman and amature armorers needs so any of these mentioned here would suit me well....

I was finally able to see this movie yesterday.   There wasn't a single solitary sound made as everyone exited the theater.  The entire audience sat, paused a few minutes before exiting.   I can't remember being so "moved" by a film as I was with this one BY FAR.  It's simply a movie you HAVE to go see - words cannot describe the way it will move you, you have to experience it!  So amazing - the perfect example true Honor, Valor, Respect and Dignity - could go on and on.  Such an amazing life story!

Another great post (like there have ever really been any bad ones) ;)  !!!  I want a Malinois so bad!  What a gorgeous dog Nero is!  The Malinois/Shepherd breeds have always been my favorite followed very closely by Husky/Malamute.  We had my sons Siberian Husky with us for 3 months.  She is such an amazing animal!  So intelligent and SO HYPER!  She would get me up every morning at 5:00am like clockwork to go out for her morning walk/run - I gotta admit I more than likely at times must have looked like the pic of obumer below  - she was so much fun!  I'll really  miss having her up on the mountain this winter!

Excellent post Blake - thank you!  Honor, respect, integrity  - valuing and upholding oaths...  that is whats missing from our so called leaders in DC. They set the example and tone of attitude that floods into all branches of government and eventually to our military  - no wonder this country is so bassackwards.. we have a psychotic freak-show carnival from hell at the helm all drunk and gluttonous on their own pride and greed...DC needs a serious DOUCHE!... DC could use some good ol fashioned soldiers and boy scouts!!!  I mean no disrespect to anyone at all.. i try not to get too political but in these crazy times its too hard sometimes to keep a tight lip...
