peter Capaldi carried this series. The writing, in my own opinion of course, was hit or miss. Even so, I thoroughly enjoyed it and I think it was down to watching such a great Doctor.

Brilliant Doctor. But this series fell slightly short of brilliant. It's a testament to Capaldi as an actor.

@supermoff is waiting for heaven.... @NotsoSmartguy @The Lazy Cat Needs Her Inhaler She's got to be pregnant hasn't she? Otherwise how do the events of listen work?

I think it's a trick anyway. To get the people to give themselves up to be upgraded.

@Deus_Ex_Machina It's weird because my favourite Doctor is the one I happen to be watching at the time. I've got two boys aged 7 and 4, the eldest was obsessed with Matt Smith but is really warming to Peter Capaldi, and the youngest is really just starting to get into Doctor Who and is more into David Tennant. To be honest, I think the kids just like episodes with a good monster! The Doctors the Doctor at the end of the day!

An episode about Clara and Danny doing the weekly shop would have been more eventful.

Did anything even happen in that episode? I've loved series eight so far and am a huge defender of the Moffat era, but this episode was truly awful.

I think that the monster was there but the point was that it doesn't matter.

I love marks episodes. Don't know why they get slated.
5 months, 2 weeks ago on Your Verdict on Robot of Sherwood
I didn't think this was the best episode but one thing I can say is that my 7 year old son loved every minute of it. I only started watching Doctor Who because of him, through The Sarah Jane Adventures on CBBC and I think we have to remember this is a family show. My son wasn't bothered that the golden arrow saving the day was pushing it, even by Doctor Who standards! After some very complicated stories in Matt Smiths era it's nice for my son to be able to watch an episode without having to ask what's going on every ten seconds!

These kind of mysteries in Moffats era have tended to turn out rather simple. I'd put money on missy being a female incarnation of the master.

One word. RUSHED! Great story though.

Cspsldi didn't want to take his wedding ring off as the length of the shoots would make the risk of losing it to great. They've made a galifreyan type ring to fit over it.

Did anyone else pick up on the fact that the sonic screwdriver didn't really work in this episode? Also, I loved the bit when the doctor asked the robot if he even remembered where he got that face from and then caught a glimpse of himself.

I love Moffat.

I think it will only add to the ninth Doctors stories when re-watching as we know he is punishing himself for something he didn't do.

@Master Michael Moon Apparently Moffat has asked him every year. A stand alone episode from RTD would be of the highest quality.

If I could pick anyone to write for Doctor Who it would be Jack Thorne. His style would work perfectly for Peter Capaldi.

That sontarin looks extremely menacing. Perhaps the costume designers should take some inspiration from this for a future sontarin story.

It'll be too soon for either Smith or Tennent and Eccleston won't do it. Therefore I think a special with captain Jack would be really good. We've had a doctor heavy year so something a bit different would be nice.

This website is becoming a mere platform for fan moaning.
Doctor who is the most incredible program which has been a bonding platform for me and my 7 year old, and now my 3 year old. It is aimed at us and although sometimes stuff doesn't quite add up, it still completes it's main objective. WE ARE ALL ENTERTAINED! It's not real life and some of you need to remember this and just enjoy it for what it is. A program about a mad man in a box!

Eurrghh, the power of three was rushed wasn't it, and there was that bit wasn't there, where the doctor did something you know, impossible and it was the sonic screwdrivers fault wasn't it? I really hate that bloody screwdriver foiling otherwise scientifically sound plots.

I hope Capaldi plays his doctor, well, like capaldi! He's a great actor with great writers and directors pushing his performance so although it's fun to speculate, lets just see what he gives us and enjoy it!
