partners in crime is one of my favorite episodes of all time, the humor is spot o, the adipose are adorable, it introduces Donna as a full-time companion, and Gramps makes a cameo. What more could you ask for in a light-hearted, season starter for ten?

happy b-day Pat!!!

So torn! I absolutely adore The Fires of Pompeii and Dinosaurs on a space ship. One is a character-establishing episode for Donna full of touching moments and heart-breaking scenes with humor added; while the other is a perfect nonsensical romp full of heart. eeny meany miny moe... Dinosaurs on a spaceship it is!

fingers crossed for Madam Cristine do Pisan (a city of ladies) or Chaucer (Canterbury Tales) or Circero (that would just be funny)

As long as he's not like Adric...
I hated Turlough, but with Moffat's writing it could work... Maybe he's from the Kovarian faction of the Silence?
Or the Doctor's daughter! (Dun dun dun!)
I really want another character like Jamie or Harry Sullivan! Bring back the male companion who has no romantic connections! He's just there as a friend to the Doctor and Clara.
2/10 - the only things keeping this episode fom being completely terrible are Stormaggedon and River's scene at the end

Since six is probably my fave, this makes me really excited! + hello? Valeyard anyone? Since Gallifrey was saved, the evil incarnate of the Doctor between his 12th and last regenerations has to make a show! Wouldn't it be awesome for him to be a recurring villain for 12, like 3 and the Master! I totally see a storyline where something went wrong with Capaldi's regeneration so a bit of energy escaped and formed an unstable (mentally and physically) version of the Doctor with all of his intellect and experience but none of his morals. This version discovers that he is degenerating at a lethal rate so he goes starts last-ditch attempt to steal the Doctor's regenerations but it backfires, sending him back through his own timeline to confront the 6th Doctor.

9/10, an interesting and thought-provoking episode, amazing acting, brilliant premise. Everywhere you look there are fascinating parallels drawn, like between the Doctor and the Minotaur: both are wandering the universe in a prison, the Doctor's figurative while the Minotaur's is literal, both need the belief of others, and both pick up 'guests' in their travel to fuel this spiritual or physical need. And my favorite is of course the Doctor's room, it raises so many questions that everyone probably has a different answer for (eg. Why is the time crack the Doctor greatest fear?). Also the music and directing for this episode is splendid.
And the end where the Doctor 'saves' Amy and Rory by letting them go is beautifully heart-breaking every watch.

I totally travel as a NuWho companion, no major problems yet. But life as a Classic companion way more hazardous, they were way more likely to be captured (everyone), hipnotized (Sarah Jane, et al.), tortured (Sarah Jane, Harry, Romana, etc.), left behind (Sarah Jane), experimented on (Peri), and/or killed off for emotional impact (Adric)... so maybe.

don't know why but I've never enjoyed this one

perfectly enjoyably episode, so long as you don't look to hard at it. not really a stand-out episode, but the peg dolls are terrifying to me and the Tick Tock song that goes with them is perfect. It has some funny moment and some pretty scary ones plus the ironic twist of the terrified kid being the actual alien make this episode a 8/10 for me

I love all of River's episodes and this is one my faves

She spent a lifetime obsessing over him. She probably grew up being told the only reason she exists is the Doctor. She had to know his weaknesses, meaning she grew up hearing stories about his adventures. It seems logical to me that one kind of obsession could change to another, maybe not love but infatuation isn't that far of a leap.
such a great idea, sooo quotable, but it felt very rushed... 9/10 just because of "Rory, put Hitler in the cupboard." and "I'm standing in a giant robot replica of my wife... trying really hard not to see this as a metaphor."
I was very confused for most of it (how did the space pirates get there, weren't they in another dimension or something?) but it did introduce the Paternoster gang, some of my favorite NuWho characters, and Rory's badass moment with the cybermen rocks so 9/10

11/10 easily one of the best episodes in the history of Who, new and old. Heart-breaking, hilarious, hide-behind-the-couch-moments, and completely enjoyable on every single watch.
my favorites for any conversion: Robot, Rose, Smith and Jones, The Fires of Pompeii, The Eleventh Hour, A Christmas Carol, and Dinosaurs on a Spaceship

I was always thought Timelord marriage would be weird, what if your partner regenerates and changes gender? But Timelords bi- or asexual makes way more sense.

how did they get the invisible TARDIS inside the prision? Wouldn't somebody ask "what's that forklift doing in a super top secret government prision?"
didn't the government agents find it suspicious that River's body was never found after she jumped off the 50th floor in New York?
and how they cut, lift, and perfectly seal "the densest material in the universe"?
how did Amy and Rory survive getting shot? They definitely weren't wearing bullet proof vests
9/10, would have rated it lower because it's so confusing (for instance: where did they get dwarf star alloy in the 1960s?), but TNOTD answered a lot of questions
