Okey, I've been wondering about this for some time now: why do people keep referring to the Doctor as "the Time Lord", "our favorite Time Lord", and so on? It sounds ridiculous when you think about it. Imagine someone new being cast as James Bond,"and so this and this actor will take on the role of our favorite human".

@DrWhoBoy123 Pompeii was a awfully long time ago for the Doctor. He was 900 years back then, now he's 2000-something.
Also hopes Jack returns at some point to tie in Capaldi's Torchwood appearance.

@Master Michael Moon I'd like to think that the big battle on Trenzalore is yet to come. Yes this one last for 900 years, how can there be another battle which tops that one? Well, to me it didn't really seem like a massive war on Tranzalore, but a slow war taking place in one tiny little town on Trenzalore.

Something I never understood with The Time of the Doctor was the fact that the Time Lords would only return if they got some sort of confirmation that they'd found the correct universe. The only way for them to know which universe was the correct one was to find the Doctor. And the only way to know for sure that it was the Doctor was for him to confirm it by saying something only he knows. His name. However, by the end of the episodes Clara manages to convince the Time Lords that they've found the Doctor and that they have to save him. They seem to believe her for some reason seeing as they give the Doctor a whole new set of regenerations. But since Clara managed to make the Time Lords believe they had found the Doctor, why didn't they return?

@Amy the Consulting Key Ring Miracle Day was brilliant. The best season of Torchwood yet. It just doesn't match up with Doctor Who at all.
@Antee991166 I'm one of those fans. I got into Doctor Who about a year ago and have watched everything since the 2005 reboot. I really want to watch the Classics, but I just can't bare it. I've watched several episodes of William Hartnell, Colin Baker and then a few episodes of some of the others. The stories are good but they've told at such a slow pace. The music and special effects doesn't really help either. Again, I want to watch it, but I don't find it engaging at all.

I never understood why the Doctor didn't use John Smith as his name when applying for a job at the store, nor did I understand how they would allow him the job without giving them a proper name.

@Tardis Stowaway Ah thanks, I had totally forgotten about that scene.
6 months, 2 weeks ago on Daleks Series 8 Rumours
I'm kind of confused concerning the obligations of Daleks appearing in Doctor Who once a year. As you can see below, the Daleks didn't appear in any Doctor Who episodes which came out during 2009:
2005 - Dalek, Bad Wolf/The Parting of the Ways
2006 - Army of Ghosts/Doomsday
2007 - Daleks in Manhatten/Evolution of the Daleks
2008 - The Stolen Earth/Journey's End
2010 - Victory To The Daleks, The Pandorica Opens/The Big Bang
2011 - The Wedding of River Song
2012 - Asylum of the Daleks
2013 - The Day of the Doctor, The Time of the Doctor
@DaireConstantineOReillySounds more like he's eager to fight them and doesn't want to wait.
"Peter Capaldi will fulfil a lifelong dream of fighting the Daleks in his first series as the new Doctor."
@Amy the Consulting Commentator But Kate Stewart has already met the Doctor in TDotD, which would mean it takes place after Power of Three, which was set further into the future.
6 months, 2 weeks ago on What if… the 8th Doctor was the War Doctor?
Kind of off-topic here but, "would leave the gallery in 2013", I'm kind of confused here. It feels like the story takes place in 2013, while at the same time it feels like the story also takes place after the events of Power of Three, which took place during October 2016 - July 2017. Other sources are suggesting The Day of the Doctor takes place during 2018. Would make sense though, seeing as Clara is now a teacher.
6 months, 3 weeks ago on What if… the 8th Doctor was the War Doctor?
@NMW2412 As Mufflon159 said, it was the Tesselecta, but, the Doctor could still have started a regeneration. A Time Lord from Classic Who (don't remember his name) was at he's 13th life and attempted to regenerate. He began to regenerate but died in the process. So the Doctor could attempt to regenerate but would have died trying.
