Well, Ten inherited Nine's sonic. It's to be expected. I'm quite fond of ol' Copper n' Claws anyway. :)

@Master Michael Moon  I thought Series 7 went up and down with quality like a sine wave. There would be a lapse in the writing, then an improvement, until it leveled off near the very tail end of its run.

10/10, of course! The farewell speech was my favourite part, even if it was tear-jerking, and even if Matt got teary-eyed in the script read through. "I will always remember when the Doctor was me." We will too, Matt. Now let's rate Eleven's mini-sodes and the games for good measure.

10/10, but I will never understand why the editors chose to cut the War Doctor's regeneration into Nine short. A rotoscoped Eccleston face would have been enough to complete the transition.

8 for reintroducing the Eye of Harmony, which I wished to see again some day, and the appearance of both the oft-mentioned swimming pool and a book about the Time War.  Direction could have been done far better, though. Too much walking around corridors, not enough exploration into unique rooms, but the idea of the TARDIS being infinite and having devices that could generate nearly anything was splendid.

Loved the intro scenes, the music, Strax's grenade fixation,  the charm of Victorian Clara discovering the TARDIS in the clouds, and the new TARDIS interior. But my favourite scene was Vastra's "truth is singular" trial.

7/10 for the humor and, the emotional scene with Amy and the Doctor and the foreshadowing for the next episode. The rushed ending and its cheap resolution, however, costs it a full 10.

6/10. The whole "George is a Tenza" explanation felt conjured out of thin air, like the psychic network from The Last of the Time Lords. Handwaving the plot like that feels lazy, even if it is well within the rules of the Whoniverse to just say "it's an alien". At least be a teensy bit more creative on the reveal, not so casual! But the episode was still nicely enjoyable and heartwarming, and that redeemed it, as did the debut of the chilling "Tick-Tock, Goes the Clock" nursery rhyme portent.

I miss the special weapons Dalek. If that kind of Dalek returned, you can imagine the new heights of chaos that would happen. Just one had enough firepower to make 2 normal Daleks dust.

8/10. It was quite scary and shocking, but Cleaves was an unsympathetic clod.

11 /10 for me.

He was splendid on TV, but I'm interested in what he would do for audios. The mythos of the War Doctor is built on a man who ages into the elderly figure shown during the 50th. John Hurt could portray a younger version on his Doctor and work up to the older portrayal despite being a wise and wily 74 years old- which is a splendid number to reach.
