Fantastic Article!! I certainly wish that people were more accepting in the modern age, especially within a science-fiction tv show. It is great what Moffat has been doing, and it is extremely important to continually have forward-thinking ideas in a show like this, that could positively affect the social norms in society.

I only voted for Missy out of any of those. Not that none of them deserve it (except maybe Faye Marsay) but not top of my list. To be fair I never agree with award shows anyway, so what do I know?

People are saying that her death is the only real way she could leave the TARDIS, but I think another good way would be the Doctor being forced to fix things on Gallifrey, once it's found. The Time Lords sending her off, or something. It would be another good way to end her story because she is unlikely to ever leave of her own volition.
2 weeks, 1 day ago on Is Clara Really in All of Series 9?
@LaraHarris @Planet of the Deaf @supermoff @the Ultimate Notsosmartguy @Lord Denton Literally everything. Pretty much anything you could say about Clara you could apply to me (except being an English Teacher, I am planning on being a physics professor, but there are bound to be some differences). I see more of myself and my close friends than in any other New Who companion. I don't know anybody like Donna, Amy, Rory or Rose. People like Martha I know, but they aren't as close as some of my other friends. I know people like the other characters exist, just not in my circles.
It's going to be a problem when the show gets axed and then brought back again. We would have Classic Who, New Who, and New New Who
3 weeks ago on RTD: It’s Now Impossible For Doctor Who To Ever Be Axed
I've always thought that he was not wanting to go onto his final body. Since 10 was only in that body for a couple of years, he could have easily gotten more time out of that body, before going to his final body, which he knew would be his death. Not to say that some of the parts aren't utterly cringeworthy and self-indulgent, but some of it makes quite a bit of sense. Especially seeing as 10 used an extra regeneration just to stay in that same body. His whole character was simply very superficial, and wanted to hold on to everything, but he also felt like he had to always finish, and that you can't look back. While an annoying regeneration, it is very much in character.

This is going to be extremely close since they were both so excellent this series. I went for Jenna, but were I in another mood I'd vote for Capaldi. When the writer poll comes around it's going to go to Mathieson, with Moffat in second. No doubt about it. I AM curious how this poll will turn out though...
1. The Snowmen
2. Last Christmas
3. A Christms Carol
4. The Time of the Doctor
5. Christmas Invasion
6. End of Time
7. Doctor, the Widow and the Wardrobe

1 month ago on Female Doctor Poll Results & A Case For
@antimon_bush Science Fiction has always been a way to look at our political issues from an outsider's perspective. It's goal is to try to progress society and be ahead of the curve. If you want political issues out of TV shows that you watch, don't watch Science Fiction.
I totally agree with the last paragraph of this article. The actor to portray the Doctor should not be based on gender but ability, however it is also extremely important to know the context for each Doctor. David Tennant was a very serious Doctor, so we needed one a bit more silly, so we got Matt Smith. Matt Smith was extremely young and very emotional, so we needed a young more introspective doctor, so we got Peter Capaldi. Having a female doctor after Matt Smith would have felt wrong, and I would say that it would have been an awful time to do it. However, with the Master regenerating into a female form, we need some answers to that just as much as we would need them if the Doctor regenerated into female form. Not only would that make for an interesting new plot and help with moving society out of sexist thinking, but it would feel like a more natural next step from Capaldi. The next actor has to be chosen to fit what the show needs next, and it shouldn't matter to any of us whether that direction that the show needs to go in next changes the gender of the Doctor, because anybody who is an actual Doctor Who fan will watch that first episode, and just like every other doctor that we needed to get acclimated to, we will similarly become acclimated to a female Doctor, as long as they cast her well and sensibly.
Who are these people that "are quite good at living a normal life"? I don't think I would get along very well...

@Father Doctavarium Christmas @BLINKANDYOUREDEAD Maybe it's because I've seen her act, but she looks more like the Doctor to me than Peter Capaldi did when he was first announced. Obviously I think Capaldi is excellent, but from what I have seen of her acting I KNOW she would be excellent, and I think the fan art only shows how she could easily be the Doctor. It might totally be me being subjective though....
1 month, 2 weeks ago on Poll: A Female Doctor
I know this is like my third time saying it, but Jaime Murray would (arguably) make the best female Doctor imo. Just search "Jaime Murray Doctor Who" and you will see a fan art. Tell me, to all the people that think the Doctor can't be female, that she doesn't look like the Doctor.
It's really funny because I was thinking about this just last night. I think the only way to do a female doctor right is have a surprise regeneration, keep things totally under wraps, and just make it happen. For instance have a two part episode and at the end of the first part Capaldi starts regenerating and then it says to be continued, without ever seeing who he regenerates into. People tune in to find out who the next doctor is, the female doctor nails it, everyone is happy.
@Hirmien @The Genie, Agent of JACKIE Jaime Murray
@The17thDoctor What about the Master...
I don't understand why people are complaining that it is too dark now, when it was plenty dark in the classic series. Doctor Who has a lot of dark undertones. Get over it.

Since the dead were being converted into cybermen, and since there were (probably) multiple clara echos that died in the past, that means that there were clara cybermen somewhere, not to mention amy and rory cybermen, right?
2 months, 2 weeks ago on Rate & Discuss Death in Heaven
Just to be clear, Clara's not the Doctor, both of them lied (Doctor about Gallifrey and Clara about Danny), Clara's probably coming back for the Christmas Special, Osgood's dead, and Missy may or may not be dead.
2 months, 3 weeks ago on Rate & Discuss Death in Heaven
The thing that you brought up is that gender can be an integral part of a person's identity. However, as we have seen in Time Lords, just changing regenerations shows different parts of the Doctor's (or other Time Lords') personalities that are increased or decreased with each body. However each incarnation is very clearly the same person. When The Mistress came onto our screens she seemed very much The Master, same type of personality, same general ideas, but with a different twist. A different gender doesn't necessarily mean that you are bound to act differently, especially if your thoughts, ideals, and experience, are retained. There are people who are very similar to each other, while being different genders in our own race. There are guys who are emotional, and women who are cold and rational (much like the Rani). It's obvious that if the Rani were to regenerate into a guy, she wouldn't be very emotional, as that is simply not part of her personality. She is someone devoted to science. I really don't see what the big deal is about. Each incarnation is a different person and retains basic principles which are not limited to gender. What's the problem with a Time Lord changing gender?
2 months, 3 weeks ago on A Study of Regeneration: Lord or Lady?
@pats86 If this happens in Time Lord families (also changing appearance from an old man to someone who could look like an older brother), assumably it's not strange to them. Much like how kids with two dads or two moms live in a very similar household to other children. The only real difference is that a lot of public see them as other, and that their parents are different genders than the "norm". Who cares? People on Earth (that's us) are starting to care less, as part of a more accepting society, so why should a very progressive race like the Time Lords, where it is normal to change bodies, find it weird when all of a sudden their parents have changed genders. That's normal for them, just like it is normal for us when one of our parents dies. Societies have different societal norms, and one cannot base another species' societal norms on ours. It's just stupid tbh. Also, it makes total sense for the change in gender to happen when you change bodies, just saying.
The whole Missy is the Master/Mistress seems very straight-forward for Moffat. It seems a lot more obvious than what he normally does. She still may be someone else who is simply lying to the Doctor. Not that I have a problem with Missy being the Master/Mistress, but not everything seems to add up.

WAIT! THEORY!! In the Name of the Doctor in the pre-title sequence we hear Clara's voice say I was born to save the Doctor. What if she literally is just that. She was "born" to save the Doctor. What if it wasn't a real Clara who jumped into the time stream. What if it was an already fractured Clara that was doing what she must, to save the Doctor. Essentially she is something that exists purely for the Doctor. She is simply there to save him. She couldn't be seen a good portion of the time, according to her, but that every once in a while he would notice her. She might be a paradox splintered through time, but was never an original. I'm still thinking this through though. I think I need a chalkboard....

I'm connecting more with both of them as characters, but then again I connect most with Spock, Data, and Seven of Nine from Star Trek, so....
I'd like to clear something up about the sonic. It clearly was not the thing that saved the day. When I agree that it can be a "magic wand" at times, this was clearly not the case here. When the doctor flew his TARDIS to normal size, there was a giant green glow keeping the boneless at bay coming specifically from the TARDIS. When he used the sonic, it looked like that green forcefield like thing was manipulated and sent them on their way. I'm assuming that the doctor set something up inside the TARDIS once he had enough power, and simply used the sonic to activate it, which is within the functionality of the sonic. It wasn't satisfying, but it wasn't because of the sonic.
