Who are these people that "are quite good at living a normal life"? I don't think I would get along very well...

@Tardis Boy He knows when we will make good points, so don't troll for goodness sake.

@Father Doctavarium Christmas @BLINKANDYOUREDEAD Maybe it's because I've seen her act, but she looks more like the Doctor to me than Peter Capaldi did when he was first announced. Obviously I think Capaldi is excellent, but from what I have seen of her acting I KNOW she would be excellent, and I think the fan art only shows how she could easily be the Doctor. It might totally be me being subjective though....
4 days, 22 hours ago on Poll: A Female Doctor
I know this is like my third time saying it, but Jaime Murray would (arguably) make the best female Doctor imo. Just search "Jaime Murray Doctor Who" and you will see a fan art. Tell me, to all the people that think the Doctor can't be female, that she doesn't look like the Doctor.
It's really funny because I was thinking about this just last night. I think the only way to do a female doctor right is have a surprise regeneration, keep things totally under wraps, and just make it happen. For instance have a two part episode and at the end of the first part Capaldi starts regenerating and then it says to be continued, without ever seeing who he regenerates into. People tune in to find out who the next doctor is, the female doctor nails it, everyone is happy.

I don't understand why people are complaining that it is too dark now, when it was plenty dark in the classic series. Doctor Who has a lot of dark undertones. Get over it.
5 days, 22 hours ago on Moffat on Criticisms that Doctor Who Is Too Dark
I agree with what a lot of people are saying having Clara and another companion in the TARDIS, but what popped into my mind is, do you think Moffat reads comments and such online?
6 days, 8 hours ago on Clara, or a New Companion? The Results
I don't want Jenna to leave the show, but, if she does, I don't want to know she has left the show until a new companion pops up on our screens. Much more exciting I think.

Since the dead were being converted into cybermen, and since there were (probably) multiple clara echos that died in the past, that means that there were clara cybermen somewhere, not to mention amy and rory cybermen, right?
1 month, 1 week ago on Rate & Discuss Death in Heaven
Just to be clear, Clara's not the Doctor, both of them lied (Doctor about Gallifrey and Clara about Danny), Clara's probably coming back for the Christmas Special, Osgood's dead, and Missy may or may not be dead.
The thing that you brought up is that gender can be an integral part of a person's identity. However, as we have seen in Time Lords, just changing regenerations shows different parts of the Doctor's (or other Time Lords') personalities that are increased or decreased with each body. However each incarnation is very clearly the same person. When The Mistress came onto our screens she seemed very much The Master, same type of personality, same general ideas, but with a different twist. A different gender doesn't necessarily mean that you are bound to act differently, especially if your thoughts, ideals, and experience, are retained. There are people who are very similar to each other, while being different genders in our own race. There are guys who are emotional, and women who are cold and rational (much like the Rani). It's obvious that if the Rani were to regenerate into a guy, she wouldn't be very emotional, as that is simply not part of her personality. She is someone devoted to science. I really don't see what the big deal is about. Each incarnation is a different person and retains basic principles which are not limited to gender. What's the problem with a Time Lord changing gender?
1 month, 2 weeks ago on A Study of Regeneration: Lord or Lady?
@pats86 If this happens in Time Lord families (also changing appearance from an old man to someone who could look like an older brother), assumably it's not strange to them. Much like how kids with two dads or two moms live in a very similar household to other children. The only real difference is that a lot of public see them as other, and that their parents are different genders than the "norm". Who cares? People on Earth (that's us) are starting to care less, as part of a more accepting society, so why should a very progressive race like the Time Lords, where it is normal to change bodies, find it weird when all of a sudden their parents have changed genders. That's normal for them, just like it is normal for us when one of our parents dies. Societies have different societal norms, and one cannot base another species' societal norms on ours. It's just stupid tbh. Also, it makes total sense for the change in gender to happen when you change bodies, just saying.
The whole Missy is the Master/Mistress seems very straight-forward for Moffat. It seems a lot more obvious than what he normally does. She still may be someone else who is simply lying to the Doctor. Not that I have a problem with Missy being the Master/Mistress, but not everything seems to add up.

While Vincent and the Doctor, The Doctor's Wife and Rings of Akhaten are all top notch for me, I had to go with Mummy on the Orient Express.

WAIT! THEORY!! In the Name of the Doctor in the pre-title sequence we hear Clara's voice say I was born to save the Doctor. What if she literally is just that. She was "born" to save the Doctor. What if it wasn't a real Clara who jumped into the time stream. What if it was an already fractured Clara that was doing what she must, to save the Doctor. Essentially she is something that exists purely for the Doctor. She is simply there to save him. She couldn't be seen a good portion of the time, according to her, but that every once in a while he would notice her. She might be a paradox splintered through time, but was never an original. I'm still thinking this through though. I think I need a chalkboard....

I'm starting to think that it wouldn't be worth it at the end of this series for DWTV to do a poll as to who the best writer was this season. I feel the results would just be embarrassing...
1 month, 4 weeks ago on Face-Off: Mummy vs Flatline
I have to go back through other episodes, but these two are definitely in my top 5. I went with flatline, but it doesn't win by much.
@stargazer0118 @BLINKANDYOUREDEAD I understand that, but I personally am relating more to them being more distant from "normal" human emotion.
1 month, 4 weeks ago on 2nd Opinion: Flatline
I'm connecting more with both of them as characters, but then again I connect most with Spock, Data, and Seven of Nine from Star Trek, so....
I'd like to clear something up about the sonic. It clearly was not the thing that saved the day. When I agree that it can be a "magic wand" at times, this was clearly not the case here. When the doctor flew his TARDIS to normal size, there was a giant green glow keeping the boneless at bay coming specifically from the TARDIS. When he used the sonic, it looked like that green forcefield like thing was manipulated and sent them on their way. I'm assuming that the doctor set something up inside the TARDIS once he had enough power, and simply used the sonic to activate it, which is within the functionality of the sonic. It wasn't satisfying, but it wasn't because of the sonic.

@DrMalcolmT @BLINKANDYOUREDEAD There were a lot of rumors early on about the Master returning, so I think it's possible too. But all we have to do is wait and see.

@Scootersfood has 66 Seconds to live... @BazHood Is there a comment system that has a love button, because we should switch over to that. There are some comments that you just want to like more than once. There should totally be a button for that...
@Ollie Walton Harrod It depends on how far away one is from a black hole. You can't go past the event horizon, but as long as you are going very fast, and have not reached the event horizon, then you are fine.
A lot of people are talking about Clara lying, and I'm not sure she lied at all to be honest (other than with Maisie). Danny said that she should come back and talk to him about it once she has cooled down. This means that they had a conversation, or many conversations (since it had been a couple of weeks) so who knows what they agreed upon. It's possible they agreed that she should still travel with him as long as she makes sure that he is a good man. I do think that this will be touched on later, but is far too early to say that she is lying to both of them.
On rewatch, there is something niggling me about Perkins. It could just be me being superstitious or something, but a lot of his mannerisms and random things he says, sound an awful lot like the Master. He seems VERY intelligent for a chief engineer, he seems to kind of be toying with the Doctor, and even though he "doesn't know how the TARDIS works" he still says that there is something wrong and that he knows how to fix it. My suspicion is that we may see Perkins again and that he is either the Master or Gus.
I don't understand how somebody can hate change and watch doctor who of all television programs. Just saying.

@TheNightmareChild is havin' a good time! @Warisfiller I wish I could like that more than once...
If this turns out to be as good as this weeks episode (which it looks like it might), I would like to make a movement saying that Mathieson should be showrunner after Moffat.

@SunEzer @BLINKANDYOUREDEAD I personally really liked it, but if you asked another day mummy on the orient express might switch with it. It's not like I necessarily think it is the best ever episode, but so far it is the best of series 8 in my opinion (but the others (minus time heist, into the dalek, and kill the moon) are very close behind, with those last three a little ways off from great.
I don't want to give numbered rankings because I always have trouble distinguishing between standards as compared to doctor who or to the rest of television, but my order from best to worst is:
2. Mummy on the Orient Express
3. Deep Breath
4. The Caretaker
5. Robot of Sherwood
6. Time Heist
7. Kill the Moon
8. Into the Dalek
I REALLY felt the drama between clara and the doctor in this episode. SOOOO GOOD! Now to watch some classic who...
In the situation we didn't know the real consequences of letting the creature hatch. I agree with what a lot of people are saying about 7 billion lives is greater than one life. However what we did not know is whether those 7 billion lives were really in danger. What I don't believe in is death as a not last possible resort option. Since we didn't know all of the people down below would die, I would have let the creature live and see what happens, and then possibly kill it if it were a fact that other people would die. So lights on. As a random point, the increased mass in the moon was causing large tidal waves, and my first thought was actually the entire earth losing power due to extreme conditions on the planet. Did this cross anyone else's minds, because I don't think it would have been that clear cut.
