Brilliant article. Absolutely brilliant. Normally I have some type of comment to make on an article, like a point I disagree with, but I completely agree with everything written. It is certainly a way to live your life. One of the best articles I've read on this site.

I didn't think she was going to be a villain last series even with the whole "you will never step inside your tardis again" thing, because it didn't seem very in character. But now they have a whole series to corrupt her fully without anyone else (like Danny) getting in the way.

I had a weird thought, what if Clara were to become a villain by the end of this series? She is transforming more and more into the Doctor, and as we know, the Doctor has a dark side. She may end up doing something the Doctor won't approve of and he will have to stop her. It would make for an interesting twist, and would be great for seeing the Doctor's inner anguish on leading her astray.

@Rani Nose Assuming that all of the people who participate in one part of the poll participate in all the other parts of the poll, since each person is grading by their own system, it should show which ones are the best liked. The numbers won't count for anything, but the order in which they are placed will.

2 weeks, 4 days ago on Rank the Revival: 2005-2006 Recap
So I got a bit carried away with ranking because I decided to go back and rank all of the classic episodes that I've seen, so 2 hours later I can finally give my rankings for Series 1 and Series 2. (So that everyone knows, it really goes from slightly above 0-10 and then I used a ceiling function so that everything was more spread out and more evenly distributed to each number).
Series 1 Average: 3.66/10
The End of the World: 3.47/10
The Unquiet Dead: 5.6/10
Aliens of London/World War Three: 0.27/10
The Long Game: 0.47/10
Father's Day: 2/10
The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances: 8.6/10
Boom Town: 0.53/10
Bad Wolf/The Parting of the Ways: 5.87/10
Series 2 Average: 3.21/10
Christmas Invasion: 5.93/10
New Earth: 1.13/10
Tooth and Claw: 2.27/10
School Reunion: 2.07/10
The Girl in the Fireplace: 7.27/10
Rise of the Cybermen/Age of Steel: 1.93/10
The Idiot's Lantern: 0.67/10
The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit: 8.27/10
Love & Monsters: 0.07/10
Fear Her: 0.13/10
Army of Ghosts/Doomsday: 5.53/10
(I'll put Runaway Bride with the next set)
Didn't Jenny and Vastra talk in The Snowmen, and the Crimson Horror, so, shouldn't there be two more episodes that pass for LGBT?
3 weeks, 1 day ago on How Often Does Doctor Who Pass The Bechdel Test?
@WhoPotterVian @TakeTheType40 @BLINKANDYOUREDEAD I think that with a show as popular as Doctor Who, and as culty (apparently that isn't a word) as Doctor Who is, I find it likely that they will produce one set, have good sales, and make a wider range in 2016-2017.
3 weeks, 1 day ago on Lego Doctor Who Is Officially Happening in 2015
@WhoPotterVian @BLINKANDYOUREDEAD That is extremely well thought out. I think it would be really cool to have a lot of extra downloadable content, because people would buy it to get to play more stories, since there is soooooo much you can do with Doctor Who.
3 weeks, 2 days ago on Lego Doctor Who Is Officially Happening in 2015
@WhoPotterVian @BLINKANDYOUREDEAD Also, what do you mean by official range?
Lego is going to make so much money.....
Also, just curious, do you think for the LEGO Doctor Who Video Game that LEGO should make their own stories, or use serials and episodes from the actual franchise?
This much closer to a lego doctor who video game!!!!
Assuming again that "average" is average Doctor Who, not average with other awful shows,
Dalek - 8.20/10
The Long Game - 2.25/10
Father's Day - 2.10/10
The Empty Child - 9.14/10
The Doctor Dances - 9.22/10
3 weeks, 3 days ago on Rank the Revival: 2005 Part 2
Barring Love & Monsters, and Fear Her, I don't really think any episode deserves less than a 5/10. That being said though, it's not the "average" episode of Doctor Who. So I have actually ranked all the episodes so that it is linear from the best episode being 10, and the worst being 1. SO.....
Rose - 2.17/10
End of the World - 2.72/10
The Unquiet Dead - 4.13/10
Aliens of London - 1.31/10
World War Three - 1.16/10

@Ocean Geek Why can't the Doctor simply be a figure that one looks up to? Why does the Doctor have to be specifically a father or grandfather figure?
3 weeks, 5 days ago on Steven Moffat: The Good, The Bad and the Timey Wimey
A very interesting and well written article, however I would have to disagree with your point about Missy and a female doctor. While it can divide the fandom, like you said, it is important that Doctor Who continues to make commentary on society. It would allow for the show to put into perspective certain aspects of sexism and transphobia. Furthermore, I don't believe that the Doctor would turn into a female form randomly, and that something might be going on that caused the change for both the Master and the Doctor. If Moffat left it without any explanation, there would be a reason to worry, but I would give it a chance before shutting it down.
I'm praying that they are bringing back Mathieson. He really needs to keep writing for the show.
4 weeks ago on Moffat Confirms His Next Two Stories for Series 9
Fantastic Article!! I certainly wish that people were more accepting in the modern age, especially within a science-fiction tv show. It is great what Moffat has been doing, and it is extremely important to continually have forward-thinking ideas in a show like this, that could positively affect the social norms in society.

I only voted for Missy out of any of those. Not that none of them deserve it (except maybe Faye Marsay) but not top of my list. To be fair I never agree with award shows anyway, so what do I know?

People are saying that her death is the only real way she could leave the TARDIS, but I think another good way would be the Doctor being forced to fix things on Gallifrey, once it's found. The Time Lords sending her off, or something. It would be another good way to end her story because she is unlikely to ever leave of her own volition.
1 month, 2 weeks ago on Is Clara Really in All of Series 9?
@LaraHarris @Planet of the Deaf @supermoff @the Ultimate Notsosmartguy @Lord Denton Literally everything. Pretty much anything you could say about Clara you could apply to me (except being an English Teacher, I am planning on being a physics professor, but there are bound to be some differences). I see more of myself and my close friends than in any other New Who companion. I don't know anybody like Donna, Amy, Rory or Rose. People like Martha I know, but they aren't as close as some of my other friends. I know people like the other characters exist, just not in my circles.
It's going to be a problem when the show gets axed and then brought back again. We would have Classic Who, New Who, and New New Who
1 month, 3 weeks ago on RTD: It’s Now Impossible For Doctor Who To Ever Be Axed
I've always thought that he was not wanting to go onto his final body. Since 10 was only in that body for a couple of years, he could have easily gotten more time out of that body, before going to his final body, which he knew would be his death. Not to say that some of the parts aren't utterly cringeworthy and self-indulgent, but some of it makes quite a bit of sense. Especially seeing as 10 used an extra regeneration just to stay in that same body. His whole character was simply very superficial, and wanted to hold on to everything, but he also felt like he had to always finish, and that you can't look back. While an annoying regeneration, it is very much in character.

This is going to be extremely close since they were both so excellent this series. I went for Jenna, but were I in another mood I'd vote for Capaldi. When the writer poll comes around it's going to go to Mathieson, with Moffat in second. No doubt about it. I AM curious how this poll will turn out though...

4. The Time of the Doctor

2 months ago on Female Doctor Poll Results & A Case For
@antimon_bush Science Fiction has always been a way to look at our political issues from an outsider's perspective. It's goal is to try to progress society and be ahead of the curve. If you want political issues out of TV shows that you watch, don't watch Science Fiction.
I totally agree with the last paragraph of this article. The actor to portray the Doctor should not be based on gender but ability, however it is also extremely important to know the context for each Doctor. David Tennant was a very serious Doctor, so we needed one a bit more silly, so we got Matt Smith. Matt Smith was extremely young and very emotional, so we needed a young more introspective doctor, so we got Peter Capaldi. Having a female doctor after Matt Smith would have felt wrong, and I would say that it would have been an awful time to do it. However, with the Master regenerating into a female form, we need some answers to that just as much as we would need them if the Doctor regenerated into female form. Not only would that make for an interesting new plot and help with moving society out of sexist thinking, but it would feel like a more natural next step from Capaldi. The next actor has to be chosen to fit what the show needs next, and it shouldn't matter to any of us whether that direction that the show needs to go in next changes the gender of the Doctor, because anybody who is an actual Doctor Who fan will watch that first episode, and just like every other doctor that we needed to get acclimated to, we will similarly become acclimated to a female Doctor, as long as they cast her well and sensibly.
Who are these people that "are quite good at living a normal life"? I don't think I would get along very well...

@Father Doctavarium Christmas @BLINKANDYOUREDEAD Maybe it's because I've seen her act, but she looks more like the Doctor to me than Peter Capaldi did when he was first announced. Obviously I think Capaldi is excellent, but from what I have seen of her acting I KNOW she would be excellent, and I think the fan art only shows how she could easily be the Doctor. It might totally be me being subjective though....
