Peter Capaldi is amazing! He's got an "edge" to his performance. And that's just from a trailer! Can't wait to see his first episode on 23rd August!

My feelings about this article: FANTASTIC! In every sense of the word! :-)

"The War Games" established that he was a Time Lord. "Spearhead From Space" established that his biology was NOT the same as a human beings (two hearts, non-HUMAN blood type). From that point on, various Doctors have played the "I'm not human" line.

I love Capaldi's report card for The Doctor! It put a smile on my face! :-)

The "throw away your gun" from The Happiness Patrol is my favourite scene from any Doctor Who era!

Flawed but has moments that shine (mainly involving the Brigadier. The other 3 stories that made up this season were better in my opinion. Season 26 was quite a strong season - the show was cut off too soon. Things were getting interesting...

The idea of Moffatt's first season being Tennant's last is absolutely fascinating. From Moffatt's comments, his regeneration would have been approached in a very interesting way indeed.

Alien Bodies is brilliant and has had a massive influence on the new series (the Time War for example). The Infinity Doctors by Lance Parkin was an amazing novel and is worth hunting down.

The "Rain" trailer is wonderful. Saw it earlier today and was seriously impressed. I mean, I like the official BBC teaser trailer but "Rain," erm, kind of rains on its parade (sorry!).

I like the idea of a bitter, twisted 8th Doctor. It'd have made a nice contrast to his persona in the TV Movie.

I still kind of wish that instead of John Hurt as the War Doctor we had Paul McGann as the 8th Doctor. And it would have been a nice touch to have Susan (the Doctor's granddaughter) as the personification of The Moment rather than Bad Wolf Rose. But I'm still happy with what we ended up with.

7/10 Good...but could have been SO much better. Still, the final scene is a thing of beauty...

Oohh, could it be Alex MacQueen from the Big Finish audios? He and Capaldi were both in The Thick of It after all...

This had the potential to be a chilling story (I was expecting a "new series" bash at the classic story Ghost Light). It wasn't. It was another story let down by the ending. And someone should have told Matt Smith the correct pronunciation of Metebelis... 5/10.

7/10. The rushed ending spoiled what was an otherwise interesting (albeit flawed) episode.

Hmm...a bit of a damp squib. Nice ideas (time fracturing with the past, present and future happening at once) but I still don't get the whole concept of The Doctor marrying River. He openly says he doesn't want to marry her but ends up doing so not out of love but obligation to ensure he "dies" and time gets fixed. Was it necessary? Or am I just being cynical?

That would have made sense seeing as The Doctorvsays "Of course. Who else?" when he opens the door. Clearly referring to a person, not a crack in the wall and clearly set in the TARDIS as the Cloister Bell was tolling. Although Moffatt hadn't come up with the War Doctor by that point...I always thought he was seeing his next incarnation...the fear of what he loses when he regenerates and what he becomes.

I thought it was great. Knocked a mark off because it killed off Rita who would have been a wonderful full time companion.

I quite like the mix of theme tunes on the Capaldi retro titles. Would work well for series 8, I think!

Probably my favourite series 5 episode and one of my all time favourites. It tackles a difficult subject well. Very brave. Proof of why I love this show!

Aside from the quite chilling scene of Amy about to be cut up and studied at the end of The Hungry Earth and the shock of Rory getting shot and erased from time at the end of Cold Blood, I found this story decidedly average. And worryingly, the two positives I took from it both had cop out resolutions (although the Rory resolution was unexpected).

But...his timestream isn't there anyway because he didn't die there after all. Or is it in a paradoxical fashion? Or was The Name of The Doctor a weird dream of the Doctor's while he was dangling out of the TARDIS at the start of The Day of the Doctor? Or is it just the fact that Moffatt keeps messing with my head???

5 months, 2 weeks ago on What if… the Ninth Doctor was the War Doctor?

That's what I was guessing. But still, wouldn't he be snapping "I'm not the Doctor! I'm..." at everyone all the time?

Here's something that has been nagging me and I apologise in advance if this has been explained already but...if the War Doctor gave up the name of Doctor to fight in the Time War then why did Rassilon, other members of the High Council and the General and War Council refer to him as The Doctor and not by whatever name or title he was using instead?

5 months, 2 weeks ago on What if… the Ninth Doctor was the War Doctor?

I wholeheartedly agree. As great as John Hurt was - and he was GREAT - if it had transpired that the Eighth Doctor, the romantic lover of life, had fought in the Time War then it would have been a bigger shock. And a reflection if how war can change a person.
