The thrill is in the chase not in the capture as agatha christie said, whether we find out anything new or guess correctly (often this can make the finale in fact less exciting) is irrelevant the fact that we can theorise even if it is just "a shot in the dark" knowing that our answers will eventually be satisfied is what makes big story arcs so exciting.

Dark water/death in heaven's got to be at the top, but i'm also psyked for kill the moon next week and flatline sounds like it could have an interesting premise, we know too little about ep 10 (cos it was filmed and announced last and I don't think theres been any pics) to judge, and I can take or leave mummy on the orient express

@Rani Nose I think she'll be in either this one and not listen, or in listen but not this (more likely the 2nd) either way her next appearance will probably reveal more/flesh otu her character a little, cos its getting dull seeing her doing the same each week without any explanation

@sontaran17 it sounds to me like we're gonna be in for some pretty good villains anyway, the doctor's nightmares in listen, the teller in time heist, skovox blitzer and a living forest are just a few to mention

I don't see why they didn't just include ep 10 in block 5, that makes 6 nice even 2 ep blocks, this probably means episode 9 is very effects heavy and needs more time in post production or one of them has a very high budget

i think one of the problems of bringing back galifrey is not damaging the aura of mystery around the planet, by keeping it in an un-reachable pocket universe they keep it alive, but if the doctor went there and we saw it for ourselves it might ruin some of the magic around it if not handled carefully, a good way to do this would be to show galifrey on its knees struggling to recover from the war in isolation

4 months, 3 weeks ago on Why Bringing Back Gallifrey is Wrong

@Planet of the Deaf I imagine they have a tight budget for these things and capaldi and coleman probably cant spend ages on a tour so I doubt its that hard

great article, Im not a medical expert but could the increased supply of energy to the brain be what allows the doctor a greater memory and efficient quick recall of knowledge from that to solve problems faster?

some good points although I think jenny should just be a one episode fun character, i think moffat suggested to rtd to revive her not cos he was planning to use her again but simply because it made a better ending to the episode

11th hour: 10/10 (excellent) beast below: 7/10 (there were a lot of flaws but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt cos it worked overall) victory of the daleks: 6/10 ( a rare gatiss misfire, there are some great elements but it feels too lacklustre) angels 2 parter 3/10 (overly complicated and the endings just silly so despite some good characters the way the episodes ruined the angels for me leaves it so low) Vampires of venice 4/10 (just dull)

does anyone know what the production blocks are and how far through filming they are, I know that block 1 was ep's 1 and I think Block 2 was eps 4 and 5 and judging by how recently they've both been filmed and their same directors I think block 3 is 3&6, so does anyone know if they've moved on to block 4 yet which is presumably 7 and 8, or whether they're still filming ep 6? and also why douglas mackinnon is filming 2 eps in one block but only one in another?

I think this is the best way to do it, I like 2 parters but thought they worked best as finales or eps 4 & 5 so this is just the right number I also think 12 episodes is a better number than 13 as the series will be more streamlined and episode 11 always felt a bit awkward squashed between 2 two-parters, its a bit of a gamble though giving the series finale to a newcomer director though

@TheOncomingHurricane @Gustaff can we not generalise so much I don't like a lot of what moffats done with the show, but just because I'm what might be called a moffat hater doesn't mean I join in with all of these ludicrous criticisms of him, can we not stereotype moffat critics based on what the most vocal minority of them do

5 months, 2 weeks ago on Another New Companion for Series 8?

maybe she'll be recurring this season then promoted to a companion next season based on how well she's received, but although it might mean another introduction (which we'll already have 2 off with capaldi and anderson being new regulars this season) I'm all for this a larger tardis crew is new for the revived series and creates a more interesting dynamic and means we don't need a new earth set companion intro episode whenever one companion leaves because there'll be overlap with the rest of the tardis crew

@Deus_Ex_Machina  my problem is that people comment saying people will make statmements like these, before they do suggesting that there is some group of fans out there who will do anything to bring down moffat and that the sexist critiques are all just part of this master plan

@Planet of the Deaf @Deus_Ex_Machina  I'm not arguing about sexism in the writing thats a debate for another comment section. what I'm annoyed that is that people keep commenting about some kind of moffat hate brigade who use this news to hate on him and make more sexist allegations which in my view hasn't happened yet
