"The Doctor. Doctor. Funnn."
@PaddyB: Founding Father of R.O.S.E. The Doctor's farewell to Rose in 'Doomsday' was voted Best moment in all of Sci-Fi recently. I consider that a far bigger achievement. I'm happy.

@supermoff @Malohkeh yeah the poll is very confusing..
3 days, 7 hours ago on From 1-12: Who is YOUR Doctor?
@The Finn @stargazer0118 Again, they are asking several things in the article, and my only answer is that..
3 days, 10 hours ago on From 1-12: Who is YOUR Doctor?
@The Finn @NotsoSmartguy @stargazer0118 Well the article seems to contradict itself, IMO. Any way, my Doctor, the one who made me the big fan I am is Ten.
@The Finn @stargazer0118 "Doctor Who TV wants to know who is your Doctor? It’s basically the Doctor who will always hold a special place in your heart(s). The Doctor that started you off on your Doctor Who journey, making you the fan you are today."
Seems to me they are asking who my Doctor is... There is only one answer to that. This is basically a fav Doctor poll, even if it says it isn't.
Saw Tom Baker first and then Eccleston, and I liked them a lot, but My Doctor is without a doubt David TENnant. He's the one that completely captured my imagination and who took me (and still does) to places of extreme joy as well as sadness like noone else could. He's the definition of perfection and epicness. Allons-y!
@Gustaff they can be very vicious.

@The Administrator is Thorin Oakenshield!
The Impossible Planet
The Waters of Mars
@troughton who? The Doctor has been played by 12 white male actors during 51 years. A bit more consistency than Bond.
The change of gender has only been a casual comment in one episode.

If they want great, strong female characters, create your own but don't destroy an iconic one.
"There is no need to change iconic character’s genders if it just doesn’t add anything. If anything it just turns the character into joke formulated by a modern ideal. That is what fan-fiction was invented for." Exactly!
Excellent article, John, agree completely. THANK YOU.

@TazminDaytime Yes please, but mainly because the show really needs fresh ideas. The changes he's done aren't enough for me.
5 days, 16 hours ago on Moffat on His Series 8 Worries
@NotsoSmartguy @TheOncomingHurricane @stargazer0118 @TheIdleIdol how mature... it has nothing to do with that, but if you want to get personal, than same thing with you and your Clara tinted ones.

@TheOncomingHurricane @stargazer0118 @NotsoSmartguy @TheIdleIdol It wasn't believable to me, sorry..

@NotsoSmartguy @stargazer0118 @TheIdleIdol scope
@NotsoSmartguy @stargazer0118 @TheIdleIdol No. The Time War had score and felt like something truly huge and devastating to the Doctor. Trenzalore was a tiny town with 30 people.
@TheIdleIdol New Who has had more continuity, until 12. It's like he forgot everything. I thought he wanted to find Gallifrey but they barely mentioned it until the end. I can't relate to him.
6 days, 17 hours ago on Capaldi Didn’t Want Twelve to Be Likeable
@NotsoSmartguy @stargazer0118 @TheIdleIdol Trenzalore was a joke personally. Never felt the impact. too much exposition, too fast. Don't care for it.
@TheIdleIdol I mean continuity.
@NotsoSmartguy @stargazer0118 Good for you. I don't see it.
@TheIdleIdol And that's fine, but IMO they went to far. Whatever happened to the character development? It just doesn't make much sense to me.
@Ottoman14 @stargazer0118 @NotsoSmartguy They aren't exactly alike and you know it. There are some differences. 9 is one of my faves, because he was a tortured soul and he was funny and somewhat warm. 3 was very charismatic and cool. Not a fan 1 and 6, however, but I like the actors.
@NotsoSmartguy @stargazer0118 Too cold and flat for me.
Well I don't like 12 at all. Job well-done.

@TheNightmareChild @stargazer0118 @Iris Wildthyme it is well-explained. I still don't like it, though. It makes me cringe so bad..
1 week, 1 day ago on Finale Face-Off (Series 1-8)
@Iris Wildthyme Well the only obvious flaw I see is the Jesus Doctor in LotT. A big one but I can forgive it because most of it was inspired.
Adore the whole RTD era, but if I have to choose, I choose the adventures of Ten and Rose in time and space (S2), but the all the RTD series are epic really.
@ahunter8056 @Mark McCullough exactly. I see nothing but love for the S2 finale in the circles I move in.
1 week, 3 days ago on New Who Finales in Perspective: Series 6
@FireElf @stargazer0118 @Mark McCullough @ahunter8056 No, it's forgettable compared to the Doctor and Rose saying good bye.
@NotsoSmartguy is trapped in the Spiderverse @stargazer0118 @Mark McCullough @ahunter8056 No, it's the truth.
@Malohkeh @stargazer0118 @Mark McCullough @ahunter8056 It really isn't, but if you think Wedding is liked by most audiences as much as Doomsday with the Doctor saying goodbye to Rose, well you're lying to yourself.
@supermoff I honestly think your assumption is flawed, because we don't have the exact viewing figures for the other series, especially earlier ones. Unless you can prove it.

@Reeze These are the Series 8 finale ratings on BBCA: 1102 0.4
I don't know, but I remember it being much higher in the Smith era. This seems a bit low for a finale.
This was also the beginning of Clara Who.. so not warm memories from me.

I used to like it compared to the other Moffat finales, but it became irrelevant soon after. More Timey Wimey nonsense. Still, the War Doctor cliffhanger was the best Moffat has done. 7/10

1 week, 5 days ago on New Who Finales in Perspective: Series 5
@Malohkeh @stargazer0118 no, too cheesy and silly. He's counting on his reputation alone. I much prefer how the Tenth Doctor did it in Forest of the Dead,
"I am the Doctor and you are in the biggest library in the Universe. Look me up." Now that was badass and he didn't even need to shout.
rating 6/10 if I'm in a good mood.
Some nice moments, but not a fan of the resolution at all or the Pandorica Speech.
1 week, 5 days ago on Conversation @ http://www.doctorwhotv.co.uk/discusswho/062014/
@The Administrator is Thorin Oakenshield! The Family of Blood. The Doctor's punishment to the family left me speechless and on the edge of my seat. Something very rare in this show.
@StephenAHayes Noone is saying those were great choices, but those are flaws that can be forgiven by some of us because overall the finale was thrilling and fun. Besides, all the finales have flaws and cop-outs of some sort, but we like them despite that and only focus on the good points.
1 week, 5 days ago on New Who Finales in Perspective: Series 4
My ratings to the finales:
Parting of the Ways - 10/10 (classic)
Doomsday 10/10 (classic and my fav)
Last of the Timelords - 9/10
Journey's End 9/10
@StephenAHayes "You need to take off your RTD-series-finale glossed glasses." He's allowed to his opinion. The same could be said of you..
"with a couple of lines of Sci-Fi jargon, Rose’s perfect ending from Series 2 was undone."
Sorry but it's not. S2 finale still happened. The Doctor and Rose still suffered and missed each other tremendously. This is not some timey wimey convoluted twist, and it actually makes sense that she wants to come back to her Doctor. I think it was explained well for the show.
That said, I think this was an strong finale full of great characters, truly emotional and poignant moments and epic as hell. It's not perfect, the Daleks were defeated too easily and the towing the Earth home scene was stupid, but Davros was such an excellent villain and all the emotional drama and action was so well done, I don't care, I really enjoy it all. It's better than many blockbuster movies, because at least I care about the characters. Oh and that watching the Doctor and Rose running towards each other at the end of TSE (if there was any doubt about their love for one another) and all that Dalek and TARDIS action makes it all worth it. This is Who at it's most epic. No wonder it made the news.
