@NumberNine Thing is though, the vast majority of people won't complain much about things, but it is just a few who make a fuss and require this sort of thing to happen.

I don't understand what criticisms he is talking about. I've not read any so far.
1 week ago on Moffat on Criticisms that Doctor Who Is Too Dark
@91 Queen of Evil The way I see it is that gender changes are maybe rare, but they can happen (say maybe an average of 1 in every 20 regenerations), as you said.
Maybe there was a specific way to do it, similar to the device used to alter the Doctor's (and the Master's) mind in series 3, but more physical during regeneration.
Who nose? Eh?

@Baker Street Could be worse, like in 2012.. When it was about 5 o'clock.
2 weeks, 4 days ago on Last Christmas BBC One Time Confirmed
6:15 is much earlier than all of the series 8, and earlier than Time, but nevertheless is much better than ~5 we got back in 2012.
@Antee991166 Yeah I have to say, the spin-offs aren't that good compared the real thing. Doctor Who is Doctor Who (nothing else is, in my view), and SJA was a very cheesy unrealistic show (for children, which I accept is inevitable but nevertheless...), while Torchwood almost seemed to be competing with Doctor Who in the end, and again it was unrealistic how earth-based they all were, and simply didn't tie in with Doctor Who in any way.
2 weeks, 5 days ago on Frank Skinner Up for Doctor Who Return
@Aztecs, Daleks and Cavemen I agree, in that I think that a character who has a one-off story which works really well can easily be ruined by bringing them back.
Some people may say that about River Song, some would say it about Jenny, Vastra, and Strax, etc. etc. Although I have no problems with these particular examples, the list can go on.
I completely agree, and could think of dozens of other reasons to criticise it. It was a complete let down and every single person I have spoken to who watched it feel the same way about it.
And thank you so much for doing this article too!

@TheIdleIdol Can't say I'd agree too much. I think Mark Gatiss has had more than his fair share of chances and has never done anything spectacular. It's no good only producing good scripts when on form, they need to be good every time. In my personal opinion it is time to give somebody else that space.
I do think giving somebody new a chance to do something would be good, as you said at the end.
3 weeks, 1 day ago on Writers to Bring Back for Series 9 & Beyond
Some of these would be fantastic! Forget Mark Gatiss and the like, lets have a series with some people who have shown to be able to do something really spectacular, and who have done a fantastic job with their one chance; and some people who we haven't done anything for years.
I am a bit sceptical about RTD returning though. He was a fantastic showrunner but I just get the feeling that with high expectations, he could end up disappointing. He had a fantastic send-off to his era 5 years ago (how time travels eh?!!!), and it would be better for Doctor Who to move on. Nevertheless, if he were to return I would welcome that.
@Timhogan And Captain Jack / Torchwood!

@DocWhoFan The biggest one for me is why did Missy need Clara and the Doctor to travel together in the first place?
4 weeks, 1 day ago on A Hint on Jenna Coleman’s Future?
I agree with you. The biggest problem for me wasn't the gender, or the casting, but the fact it had absolutely no relevance to the character we saw in The End of Time, which I rewatched two days ago. I hope all this is cleared up in series 9.
4 weeks, 1 day ago on Unpopular Opinion: Missy the Master
@Handles Yeah, I thought (or hoped) that that was the end of that. I was a little disappointed to be honest.
1 month ago on Moffat Can’t Confirm Jenna Coleman for Series 9
@ElyotWren @CrAzyLAdy12 I don't. Bear in mind some children of the age of 6 or 7 are brave enough to watch this, it's hardly fair if they do that.

@Gallade Zero I think a single companion can get boring after a while, and it's good when they leave and aren't killed off, so they make a small pleasant return later.
I really hope she doesn't stay for any longer. She is a very average at best actress (I personally would say pretty bad), and her character just irritates me a lot. I think Doctor Who could do with somebody new and I'd love to see how 12 gets along with finding a new companion.
Oh, I ought to point out a few really great bits too I suppose!
We had episodes like Deep Breath, Listen, and Time Heist. We had a cool theme tune and title. Most important of all: PETER CAPALDI!
1 month ago on BBC Declares Series 8 A Triumph
@Huknar Trouble is, if you can't notice very much music during the episode itself then it's a bit too late to appreciate it afterwards, if you see what I mean.
@TheOncomingFish In all honesty when it comes to ideas, I think they ought to let fans have inputs to the episodes. Silly as it seems, when you have Moffat asking people like Gattis to write and you end up with things which just aren't particularly great it is disappointing.
I'm pretty sure if I attempted one I could come up with something really great and original.
Series 8 had great potential to take the challenge to series 4 (my personal favourite), and it was fantastic.
However, I do feel that poor / a lack of incidental music by Murray Gold, inconsistent episodes (particularly at the start of the series), a poor conclusion to Death in Heaven, cringey awful acting from Jenna Coleman, along with a very unrealistic relationship with Pink, and a demeaning title sequence in Death in Heaven ruined it.
For me this series was still very very good, but it fell down to 4th place, behind series 4, 2, and 1.
Just to note, I've always thought Murray Gold is fantastic, but these past few months have proved me incorrect it seems. I hope he goes.
@TheOncomingHurricane @Master No More Once for the TARDIS itself, but looking at other core elements of the show, such as the titles, the logo, the theme tune, etc. are constantly changing all the time.

@foolmentaljoker That bugged me too, but maybe there was just a little gap where the doctor hesitated to see what the cybermen were doing.

10/10, and the best non-special since The Stolen Earth / Journey's End for me.
3 months ago on Rate & Discuss Time Heist
@supermoff is your new lodger- I mean, caretaker. So many instances in the episode that I thought could fit in that had no apparent linking, such as with the woman who could transform hence the Doctor could see his face, and when he was trying to remember something at the end (clones and stuff), and the last 2 remaining of the species.
For me Blink is the best episode ever. I liked Listen but I felt that all the elements of the story were taken from other stories (although ironically mostly Moffat stories). Something hiding under your bed (The Girl in the Fireplace), something you cannot see hidden in the shadows (Silence in the Library), an unknown being banging at the door of a lone spaceship (Midnight), silence (all of series 5 and 6), something in the corner of your eye (primarily The Eleventh Hour). All this just sort of made it feel unoriginal. Also, I did not work out that that was a young Doctor in the bed at the end until I read about it.

Robot of Sherwood. I don't think it was any better than average, but it was certainly better than Night Terrors..
@Ivegotkidneys is in Sherwood forest 'Robots' would have suited it much more, aside from sounding better it is more relevant.

@SonicTheHedgehogRules I personally don't believe there is enough proof he can write a really good Doctor Who episode though, as for many of us. I know he can write other things well, but not Doctor Who.
In my view all of his episodes have been somewhere between very boring average and extremely awful.

@guyroul @AlexMatthews I don't recall Alex ever mentioning the miniaturisation thing to be honest
@Scootersfood No, that's not a fair thing to say. Everybody is entitled to an opinion, and everybody can argue or defend the point, but saying things like this just irritates me. A lot. Aside from anything that's a pretty nasty welcome for a new person, but why because they state their opinion must they be 'new to the show'?
@StandardWhovian No, you are not a Moffat hater, you are just an average guy and a standard whovian ;)
@Favonian Squall Or hiding ;)
The daleks were definitely more threatening, but for me this did ruin their continuity and past existence a lot. The visuals were brilliant, but the plot was too rushed and also it was a bit inevitable what was going to happen, and then the end was a bit silly tbh. And I already don't like the whole Clara / Pink thing. Just doesn't work but as a character he is okay, and Clara wasn't as bad to watch this time.
I think ultimately it was Jenna Coleman's unsatisfactory acting that did it for me. It was very cringey.
3 months, 3 weeks ago on Face-Off: The Eleventh Hour vs Deep Breath
In fact, why did you even make us vote! WHY DOCTOR WHO TV WHY!!! ;)
It was so close (they are just an episode apart in my ranking) but The Eleventh Hour did it for me, only just. I love them both! Even so, I think that Deep Breath can only get higher in my personal ranking.
Maybe I regret my decision already..
@Unibot Night Terrors for me is a 1/10. Sorry, but I believe I myself could have done a better job with no budget and two actors. Just my honest opinion though, I don't mean badly.

Well, I'm just going to be very straight here, and say what I think. I'm not looking forward to this one. Mark Gatiss stories, in my view, just aren't very good.
@BeyondThePolice This was still hyped a lot. Not to the same extent of Day, and most of it wasn't really by the BBC quite as much, but more by starving fans, but there was a lot of hype.
