The Cult of Clom
And then the Clom Parliament decided upon a cult which would explore new ways of continuing their existence; they disguised themselves as Daleks and slipped into the void, and no more has been heard of them since.
"‘Listen’ was the best episode of the last run" - displaying opinions as facts, sorry this just really annoys me.
Otherwise good article and I would think Gallifrey to return in the next year or two, I can't see a point in dragging the return of Gallifrey over so long a time.

@lfcastillom @shanecook71 Yes for the tenth doctor, however chronologically the events of DOTD occurred in 2013 whereas the events of TEOT occurred in 2009, and so from our perspective the Master could well have been in Gallifrey during DOTD.
However the whole premise of the show is built on time travel - so really anything is possible :P

@FireplaceGirl Captain Jack is a bit awkward really as he was introduced by Moffat in TEC/TDD, but then only truly utilised by RTD in the finales of series 1 and 3 (and to a lesser extent, 4). So in reality he could have probably appeared in both lists - or in this case, neither.

The thing is with this poll is that it is an unrepresentative sample, as naturally only the more committed of us to Doctor Who will visit this site. Seeing that even us "Hardcore" fans have voted against the idea of a female Doctor, albeit only slightly, I believe that the general audience would, most likely, vote against a female Doctor to a much higher proportion shown here, as to the casual viewer the Doctor is male.
So ultimately, it is often the general audience whom are taken into account when considering making such a huge change as this - and if the more hardcore of us aren't ready, I certainly don't believe the general audience will be either.
However saying that, an older actor was cast as the Doctor this time round, which was probably against the audience's will initially - but it seems most have now warmed to him after a series. So who knows where Moffat (or the next showrunner) might go next? Who knows? (Insert Curator picture here)

@CapDoctor Yes, however what program was on directly after Pointless? Strictly Come Dancing. Most people tuned in at the end of Pointless to watch Strictly, not Pointless.

Hopefully this will be great; I'm watching with 4 other friends at a sleepover and this better not disappoint!

I knew it! I just went on IPlayer because I thought I saw Patrick Troughton as Robin Hood in the spaceship scenes and alas, it was! Go to 30:38 and you can see Patrick Troughton as Robin Hood!

How awesome would it have been if they got the cast of the BBC Robin Hood TV series to reprise their roles in this :D

Oh yeah, and yet again ANOTHER Missy cameo (is there going to be one in every episode?) and the Doctor's awesome sarky comments:
Doctor: "This is Clara, she's not my assistant she's some other word..."
Clara: "I'm his carer,"
Doctor: "Yeah, my carer. She cares so I don't have to"

9/10 For me; an original idea which was pulled off well - and that scene "You are a good dalek" was just perfection.
@MeglosProductions Well, you think 11/12 is a better regeneration than 10/11, others may have a different viewpoint :P
8 months ago on Why I Love the 11th Doctor’s Regeneration
I PERSONALLY (key word) don't think this was as good as Tennant's, I mean his send off felt so much more epic and dramatic - but then he was my favorite Doctor so I may be a little biased :)
Agree with all except The Beast - he was tied to his two parter so perfectly that bringing him back would just cheapen the original moment - much the same way you would not bring back the Family of Blood.

How on earth can 17,16 and 15 possibly be ranked below time? Those three were some of the classics of Matt's era and they don't even get into the TOP TEN?! These top 12 better be good...

Thing is the average Dr Who episode is really good - so do you vote 5 or 8?

@Gustaff @VortexDan @Sir James Bond REALLY disagree that Doctor who is 'just' a TV program. It is a part of British culture, and has been going on for so long now it is a true gem of Britain. So to call it 'just' a TV program is quite insulting to me, and probably most of Britain as well.

@Distilledoreo @Amy the Consulting Key Ring No, Donna says I got his mind which is very different to his brain. The human brain in Donna could not handle the Doctor's mind but the Timelord brain in the metacrisis Doctor could.

Don't want a female Doctor. He is a MALE role model, not a female one.
