@Notsosmartguy sells propane and propaneaccessories @cyberbrayde 0:35. Clara look's eerily like Sarah in that shot. It's actually kinda creeping me out...

So easy this time 'round. The Waters of Mars is pretty much the only good episode on this list.

Oh my god... I... I have to choose between The Impossible Planet, Human Nature, and Silence in the Library... 3 of my favourite episodes of all time! I just can't do this!

@Gustaff Yeah but if he did you'd have to cut out about half of each story. Look at The Caves of Androzani, the whole story is pretty much nothing BUT a misunderstanding. Great story, but it just wouldn't have worked if everyone on Androzani Minor trusted the Doctor.

Fantastic article, guy's! Troughton is probably my favourite Doctor of them all. Right now I'm marathoning several of his stories, in honor of the great man himself.
A superb actor who was taken away from us too soon. Happy Birthday Pat!

Um, Mark, I hate to tell you this but the villains of Tom Baker's entire first season (with the exception of the opening story) were ENTIRELY foes from the past.

Also, just something I'd like to add to this list: The Beast. One of the most unnerving and frightening monsters in Doctor Who's history, played brilliantly by Gabriel Woolf.

My friend, you are by no means alone in your opinion of Hidle and Sanders. They are amazing and are one of the best parts of the amazing story that is Kinda!
So you'd rather two smaller runs then one long, continuous one?

I'm pretty skeptical too. I mean, they're not really villains that anyone ever expected to return. And there is also very little to evidence to support the rumour.
'The use of pop music?' When was that?

I think the very idea of a volatile, slightly-unhinged Doctor is great, but it needs to be done in exactly the right way, as the Sixth Doctor proved. In my mind the Ninth Doctor is the only ever example of this being done in the right way. He can be dark, unpredictable, detached and angry, but also likeable enough so the viewership never truly loathes him, like they started to do with Colin.

He's such a genuinely great person... I can't wait until I meet him!

Personally I think there is something more inherently scary about something that chases, captures and devours you then something that can simply shoot you on the spot. It taps into the whole 'fight or flight' mentality that was what made the original classic series monsters so infamous.

Not a big fan of this series to be honest. The only real highlights for me are The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit and The Girl In The Fireplace. The finale and the Cybermen two-parter are both decent, however.

I'm so lucky my significant other is a Whovian too. (Albeit on a much, much, much, much smaller scale compared to me.) Anyway, I really feel for anyone having trouble getting their partner into Doctor Who, good luck and happy valentine's day! :)

An amazing episode that really goes deep into one of the most beautiful, yet understated and subtle relationships in the Doctor Who canon. Absolutely superb, 10/10 from me.

I think it has a very special place among Doctor Who episodes. Most Doctor Who stories consist of several elements (monsters, drama, etc) that come together to form a singular story of the program. We have grown used to this normality over time, so that's why Vincent and the Doctor is such a standout for us. It is different. It is unique. It's strange and mad and beautiful and sad and joyous all at the same time, much like Van Gogh's paintings in that respect. Is Vincent and the Doctor the finest Doctor Who episode of all time? It's a difficult question, one no-one can really, ever truly answer. Because there are better Doctor Who episodes. There are funnier episodes, scarier episodes, more thematic episodes, episodes with better pacing... Those episodes are all amazing, but they're not Vincent and the Doctor.
And I just realised you were quoting the episode this whole time... Oh well.
