The true reason of the Master's evil: Lack of self control. Of course demonstrated by the fact that he has a chocolate fountain in his console room.

Actually, in a deleted scene from Night of the Doctor, Eight was visited by an apparition of the "Obese Orderly" as you so put it, who upon regeneration said to him; "Morgue Jesus-y Man, goodnight." Before disappearing. The scene then cut to the "Is it done?" line as we all know & love. Similarly, Adric's part in Five's regeneration featured a larger cameo from Mather Waterhouse, whose own line was; "Cricket-y Man, goodnight." This was another of Moffat's more obscure tributes during the 50th Anniversary year.

Oh, BBC. Why would you do this? Last time it was a 3D 50th Anniversary extravaganza with a Doctor who would certainly bring in the fans delving into the Time War. That one was a box office hit in a night, but that doesn't mean that every slightly special occasion will do the same! But of course, I would happily love to be proven wrong come August 23rd...

Well, survival had CGI in the title sequence... :P So I suppose it would be Trial of a Timelord - The Ultimate Foe Part 1, as part 2 had CGI squiggly bits, if I remember correctly.
Last year: Teasers look great, episodes range from average to good, with some duds. This year: Teasers look from average to good, with some duds. Hmmm.....

I agree, we need the Doctor to run into more obstacles where using the sonic is just not possible, or if it can be used to solve a problem, is out of reach and the resolution is in finding it. Also, BTW good luck with that Divergent Universe thing, I was stuck on Bortresoye for three of those loops!

*MurrAy Gold. *Insert cross remark about the commenting system we all fear*
Whenever I hear exclusively NuWhovians wanting a completely original theme for the "next 50 years"on Youtube I realise that I would rather have the show end once again. It's one of those things that you just can't change. It's like the Police Box, the Daleks and the Cybermen, the Doctor's fundamental character, etc. Without it, it would somehow almost stop feeling like Doctor Who! Can you imagine JJ Abrams asking John Williams to completely redo the Star Wars theme? I love all of the iterations of the theme, especially the somewhat controversial Glynn, McCulloch and Murry Gold's most recent 2010 and 2013 versions.
The Jamie Robertson is like the TV movie version on acid.
Gotta love the 2001 theme. Most people think David Arnold's best work was for James Bond, but I beg to differ.
I've never had any problems with RTD or Moffat regarding the Daleks, it's just that after the Daleks appeared in both DotD and TotD, and after some fans found out that the Daleks would be turning up in the second episode of series 8, people were going on about how overused they were, despite the fact that in neither story they were the focus, and were in the former due to pure necessity (you can't portray the Time War without the Daleks making some sort of appearance). I do acknowledge the fact that there were in fact complaints during RTD's run, but they've been far more widespread more recently. believe me, it was from here, Gallifrey Base and virtually ever other Whovian stomping ground, and despite my disagreement I do see where they're coming from. :)

Imagine all the unhappy flashbacks to his eighth incarnation. That was one MIGHTY bookcase. Not to mention all of those statues and candelabras, that console room was just one temporal speed bump away from flames followed by grunge and coral!
And Omega. Don't forget Omega. You're training doesn't appear to have paid off yet. :P
Thinking about it, the entire Asylum planet, Darla watsername from Asylum of the Daleks, several Gallifreyan soldiers caught in explosions during the battle of Arcadia, the Church soldiers who suffered a similar fate during the final battle of Trenzalore, and of course the entire population of the Papal Mainframe have been killed in the last series alone, just not conventionally. I see your point.
Hmmmmm.... You wouldn't happen to work in the Roath Lock Studios costume department, would you? *Stares at you suspiciously and plants a camera on your Sontaran armour*
Maybe they'll pull an "Invasion of the Dinosaurs" and add the dinosaur part of the title in after their big reveal. In fact, I call the title sequence of the premiere will boast the title: "Deep Breath of the Dinosaurs."
They'd probably come in semi convenient flashes when the plot demands it. :P
I imagine it's more along the lines of them being hateful squids in tanks that are out to kill every last thing in the universe that haven't actually killed anyone in half a decade starting to become seen as ridiculous like they were back in the 90's. It's not crucial to kill extras, but it hammers home that they're certainly not friendly little conkers.
She could sort of work as the Doctor's insight to various situations, after all, if you've lived as many lives has her you're bound to have lived through nearly anything.
I'm just glad we didn't hear "I am the Doctor" again. It just wouldn't work with Capaldi.
Blimey, it's been up not nearly an hour! :P
A fine dish prepared by the honourable chef, Steven Moffat!
To be honest, I do miss the Daleks actually killing people on screen, as horrible as that sounds. The last time we saw that happen it was a couple of WWII soldiers nearly five years ago.
Funny how we've only had 2 full stories with them so far under Moffat and we have had more complaints than we did under RTD, who used them every series, sometimes twice, and were on all but one occasion the series' major antagonist, taking double slots in each!
You're excused. However, would you care to use the specifically set up booths to your right? Thank you for being considerate in this hectic time we know as a "DW fandom after a launch trailer" ;)
Well, maybe if you ask nicely we can come to some arrangement... :P
What a shame abut those leaks, we can't discuss this awesome new trai- Wait, DWTV has unlocked commenting temporarily again! I have to admit, the new series looks positively mouth watering!
I'd love an old fashioned space opera with the Daleks, a sort of Star Wars-esque adventure story, a bunch of human rebels in the middle of a Dalek empire + the Doctor vs. the mother of all Dalek fleets!

3 weeks, 5 days ago on Series 8: New Teaser Trailer “I see into your soul, Doctor”
I love how out of context the voice over mixed with the blue light going up the telephone cord and the X-ray effect makes it look like the Daleks have rung up the Doctor to let him know that he's an awful person, and how much they love this new attitude adjustment, and then proceed to exterminate him over the telephone. The Doctor really need to change his number and/or check caller ID before answering the phone next time.
Whatever it was, it definitely sounded like Nick Briggs, so it's something Dalek-y. I doubt it's Davros, but I'd love to be pleasantly surprised.
I'm about 90% sure that it's the Dalek Prime Minister. the other 10% is that it's the Dalek Time Controller, but that's very unlikely.
God dammit, Doctor, you need to learn to be more careful when answering the phone!
A whole host of child actors? Who thought that was a good idea after Nightmare in Silver? This can only end well...

Only shortly before, the Master identified him as being a human. the EU retcons all of this, though, so it's not something we should be worried about anymore.

In the New Series itself, Gallifrey was around when the Universe was young, fighting the Great Vampires and the Racnoss during the Dark Times. They also see the Earth as a tiny, insignificant speck.
We need a two part feature length special exploring the origins of Handles starring David Banks.
4 weeks, 1 day ago on Series 8 Finale Filming: Beyond the Grave
I don't think it's supposed to be the graveyard in New York, they've used this one a number of times because it looks quite stereo typically graveyard-y. Also, Nightmare style Cybermen are actually intended to be of Mondas descent, so no Cybusmen here! :)
Ooooh, I hope they're the main villain for once.
Well, the RTD Daleks weren't exactly looking their best... They were supposed to look beaten up and destroyed! And besides, when you see one in the (flesh?) the classic Daleks look just as modern as the incumbent models, as long as they're taken care of and don't look like they did by the end of Tom Baker's run.
