I always liked how they were seen as gods from the outside, but were in reality a very stuffy race of politicians.
19 hours, 39 minutes ago on Will Gallifrey Return in Series 9?
I didn't expect it to last 10 years, and I'm starting to think it might even outlive the previous run. It was only cancelled because one man saw fit to kill it, and it took 4 years for it to die off even after all the measures taken. I mean what other show could have survived in that slot for that long against *that* show with virtually no advertisement, short seasons and ludicrous overseas broadcast prices?

11 is from just after the Big Bang, and Ten is from just after the Next Doctor.
Ten is also from an earlier point.

I was surprised when I first found out how much people liked Blink. I was fairly isolated from the fandom in '07.

Spiral Scratch involves countless realities, including several which are definitely versions of the Big Finish one (that is, if you view different ranges as different universes rather than one whole), and after rereading the ending to see if the book would indeed have to be dismissed from "canon", I have found there is indeed a loophole. Chances are in most of these other universes each of the Doctors would have found themselves in the situation with the Lampreys similarly, if at different points of their own lives and with different companions. It stands to reason that there may be a near identical universe in which up to that point the timeline is identical to the "real" Sixie (in fact, we see one or two in the novel itself). In other words, the final chapter could very easily be the way the Doctor from the near identical alternate universe cops it, flying into the tractor beam after being severely weakened (he knew he was about to die as he could feel Seven influencing his regeneration, as per the NAs), whereas the "real" Sixie simply recovered and moved onto the final story of this set before getting entangled in the Rani's trap. In effect, it only renders the final chapter "non canon".
Sorry for the long reply and dumping all of this on you, it was hard to explain and a tiny bit convoluted, but works surprisingly well whether or not we know the outcome of the audio, simply due to the fact that the book contains so many chapters which take place in alternative universes. After all, why can't there be one more of those chapters, albiet an unintended one?

I really hate how they added that into The Widow's Assassin. It means that Peri and the Piscon Paradox is somewhat invalidated, as the Krontep Peri had children with him. Both stories were written by Nev Fountain too, which only makes it that much more confusing.
*whispers* I thought it was overrated to begin with...

Got the Gunpowder Plot working on my mac (tricky outside of the UK, trust me, they only released the PC version and I had to use a tool called Wine Skin, for those who want to run it) over the weekend and I must say that if the graphics were souped up and the game was made open world/the ability to travel to other times and places at will was added(leave campaigns half way through, continue other plot arcs and side missions) you have the formula for the perfect Doctor Who game, in my opinion. Still wish that series wasn't canceled. Considering they were free, that series was phenomenal, if only the real quality hadn't taken until the final instalment to be fully realised...

That's what he's there for. ;) Otherwise there's now way kids'd watch it. Because when the Doctor appears and injects his humour and wisdom into the situation, suddenly the monster doesn't seem quite so scary.

The TARDIS doesn't RUN on mind power, it runs on energy derived from the Eye of Harmony and/or the rift. The Telepathic Circuits can be used to mentally choose where to go.
No, I'm fairly sure he was referring to the Seventh Doctor when he was talking about that.

Not under Moffat. I couldn't bare the darker side of Tumblr somehow twisting that to be sexist like they did with Missy just because the Moff was the who finally went and gender swapped a Time Lord. When we get a new showrunner and that side of the fandom is finally satisfied, I'd be all up for the change though!
Who says she's gone? Last time I checked, Cyberman weapons don't disintegrate you, and that looked awfully like a well timed teleport. She's come back from more certain fates...

You're welcome :)
I like to think he went flying about the universe until his remains were found in the Maldovar market by the Eleventh Doctor, by his side throughout his time on Trenzalore.
Like we need assurance that the Master isn't dead. He's come back from being trapped in a TARDIS with a T-Rex, being burned alive and being eaten by the TARDIS. Though I do hope this isn't the last we've seen of this incarnation.
Ummm 51 (well, technically 35 if you count the TV movie) years of influential television that draws in audiences from children to people well into their 70s and beyond, with a formula so easily refreshable yet timeless that it can potentially run forever remaining more or less the same, with devoted/obsessed fans all across the world despite its shoestring budget, (etc... etc..) isn't amazing, I eagerly await to hear your definition of amazing. It may not be perfect all the time nor is every episode a master piece, but it's definitely up there with programs such as Star Trek, The Twilight Zone and other shows that have impacted Western culture.

99% Of one shot male Doctor Who villains are more or less the same, in both the classic and new series. Really the only similarity has been how they dress, which the male villains also have in common amongst themselves. I also struggle to see what you mean by "character development." We've had one full episode with Missy, and found out she was the Master in the closing moments. I'm not sure how you expected her to develop in that time, especially considering she is an established character.

Well, the Rani was more of a cold scientist, and Missy's madcap antics were more akin to the post revival Master than the Rani. Not to say I don't see your point.

Not everything revolves around America. Viewers in the UK have to pay the incredibly old fashioned licence fee, something that's been long abolished in its own former colonies such as Australia) which is part of what funds the show aside from merchandising and overseas revenue. It's not like they're getting to see a full 45 minute episode that will never be released publicly outside of this one time only thing. It's only a handful of days before broadcast anyway! I'm not even from the UK and I understand this.
