The idea - great idea, but like Kill the Moon, I already came up with it and already wrote about it.

The directing and cinematography - pretty good.

The Doctor, Clara and Danny - as per usual

Refreshing change of tone

No "monster of the week" is also refreshing

Some of the kids were not annoying

Some of the kids were annoying

So, trees grew over the oceans...

Yeah, annoying kids

Overall: I liked this episode much more than other people, it was a refreshing change of pace and the idea was interesting. Some of the kids were annoying, though. 8/10

Both episodes were simply fantastic, but I voted Flatline. Very difficult as I give both episodes 9/10, so Flatline narrowly wins.

The Boneless - best enemy idea ever! Creepy, imaginative, clever idea, memorable. They better return!

The effects - those Boneless effects were simply amazing!

Clara - I'm a huge fan of Clara, and this is one of her best episodes. Loved how she acted the part of the Doctor!

The shrinking TARDIS - it's adorable

The Doctor - as per usual

Tone - started kinda cute and harmless. Then became an intriguing mystery. Then became full on horror! And it didn't feel out of place.

The climax - like many episode, the ending could have been bad. The monsters could have been too easily defeated. An un satisfying pay off. This episode wasn't one of those.

Couldn't care less about those who died

Overall: my favourite episode of the series. 9.5/10

Interesting. I honestly think this season is the best of New Who so far.

Jamie Mathieson should, like Neil Cross, return to write Doctor Who. I absolutely loved Mummy, and this looks just as good!

That was also shocking. I'm pretty sure this episode is going to be amazing. Based on the premise and the footage we've seen so far, I think this episode will be similar to Blink.

2 weeks, 5 days ago on Next Time: Flatline

Frank Skinner - nuff said

The Doctor - acting harsh and being investigative. Awesome.

All the other supporting characters - most episodes the last few years have had really forgettable supporting characters that I couldn't care less about. This episode had some of the best.

Clara - once again being awesome while looking lovely

The Mummy - always wanted something like this, and I loved all it's powers and mysteries, and I also liked it's resolution.

The plot twists - I didn't see that coming with the passengers being chosen by a higher power to solve the mummy problem. Really loved it.

The Orient Express - memorable location

The writing/dialogue - among the most witty and memorable of dialogue I've seen in Doctor Who. I also loved the references to the past. Particularly the jelly babies and the Doctor saying "are you my mummy?" right in the face of the Mummy. Loved it.

The resolution of the Doctor/Clara problem too easily fixed

The first death with the Mummy didn't work for me

Overall: this series is, in my opinion, one of the best on New Who. The episodes continue to deliver high quality, and this in no exception. 9/10!

(I almost never give anything a perfect 10/10)

My mouth dropped when the people in the walls started moving

2 weeks, 6 days ago on Next Time: Flatline

Right, thanks for reminding me that. Although, I just assumed that killing the creature with bombs would also destroy the already weak and breaking shell.

3 weeks ago on Poll: Lights On or Lights Off?

Without knowledge of the finale outcome, either way the moon is gone. Either way we are doomed to darker nights and higher water. Let the creature live, it's the same outcome if the creature died. Of course, this is without the knowledge that the creature laid another moon. Lights on.

1. Listen 9/10

2. Kill the Moon 9/10

3. Deep Breath 8/10

4. The Caretaker 8/10

6. Robot of Sherwood 7/10

Moon spiders

The moon is in fact an egg - I really love this idea. Unfortunately I was writing a book with a similar idea except Earth was an egg.

The Doctor - Peter Capaldi continues to amaze me

Clara - Jenna continues to amaze me

Courtney - one of the best teenagers on Doctor Who

Captain Lundvik - memorable character

The writing and the directing - awesome

The other characters - umm, yeah

Overall: a huge classic! 9/10

Yes! I was expecting big things for this episode, and it sounds like we will get them. No wonder this was my most anticipated episode of series 8!

Oh god, I miss them. They are my favourite companions of all of Doctor Who. Sarah Jane is second.

5. Robot of Sherwood 7/10

Great choices! Yeah, the pre-title sequences of this season have been the best. Better than any other season in my opinion.

1 month ago on 12 Great Moments From The Caretaker

Danny Pink - good character drama

The Doctor - more good character drama

Clara - even more character drama

The moment when Danny found out about the Doctor

The fighting between Danny and the Doctor

Coal Hill school

The villain. Forgot it's name already (scorco pizza?) and was not threatening at all. It was supposed to be one of the deadliest killing machines in the universe. It can barely aim or move quickly.

Even though the Doctor was good in this episode, he did come across a bit too unlikeable toward the end.

Overall: this episode is best as a character piece, which it does very well, and not as a monster of the week episode, because that part of it was very weak. Overall, a solid and entertains effort. 7.5/10

I wasn't expexting a very favourable review. But I'm a fan of The Lodger and Closing Time, so I should like quite a bit.

I voted for Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS. Time Heist is a close second. I don't think many will vote for the Black Spot. Journey to me is unfairly criticised. It's a classic!

1 month, 1 week ago on Face-Off: The Thompson Episodes

The opening ~ thrilling and had me at the edge of my seat

The thrilling last half ~ same

Psi and Saibra ~ I actually liked these two a lot, and thought they were far more developed than other secondary characters in Doctor Who. They reminded me of Ravel and Nefertiti, and like them, I want them to return. Please.

The bank of Karabraxos ~ had some beautiful imagery

Rushed first half

Nothing particularly memorable or amazing

Unfortunately came under Listen, which unfortunately is a con

Too much ideas in its run time, so it would of benefited from 10 more minutes

Overall: this is one of those episodes that won't be remembered very well after viewing, but is still very big entertainment when watching. Basically like Robot of Sherwood. 7.5/10 which is rounded up to 8/10

1 month, 1 week ago on Rate & Discuss Time Heist

Oh heck with it, I'm voting Blink. Listen is also brilliant, though, and came very close.

I'm one of those who thought Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS was amazing. So I'm highly looking forward to this episode. 7/10 is a pleasing score to me, but I undoubtedly think I will give it an 8. I do have to admit, though, that the second half of the season seems to be much better than the first half.

No matter who she is, she has had the biggest impact on the Doctor's life. More than anyone.

Man, this is one of the hardest polls in a while. The thing under the bed spread couldn't have been a human, though. So much evidence against it. If it were a monster, then...oh I don't know! What did the Doctor see from the hatch? Something was turning the hatch, but twenties out Clara influenced the Doctor's belief of the creatures! Ahhhhhhhh!

1 month, 2 weeks ago on Poll: Listen – Was there a Monster or not?

The Doctor ~ amazing

Clara ~ amazing

Danny/Rupert/Orson Pink ~ amazing

The thing in the bed scene ~ amazing

Any scene with Clara ~ amazing (yeah, I should start to think of other words)

The creepy nature of the episode

Slightly underwhelming and controversial ending

I actually do want an explanation for the thing in the bed, otherwise it was just another Hide ending. Just done in a cooler way.

Overall: an amazing episode that is the first to scare me since Hide. Amazing, amazing, amazing. (Bit a bit flawed). 9/10

This episode is one of my most anticipated, and to me it has has the best next time trailer of the season (Listen is very close second). Please don't disappoint!

Favourite to least favourite:

1. The Crimson Horror ~ fun and very unique 8/10

2. Robot of Sherwood ~ also incredibly fun 8/10

3. Cold War ~ base under siege with Ice Warrior equal dark fun 7/10

4. The Unquiet Dead ~ good but a bit boring 7/10

5. Night Terrors ~ not that creepy but easily re watchable 7/10

6. Victory of the Daleks - eh 5/10

7. The Idiot's Lantern ~ bigger eh 5/10

My ranking of the three episodes so far:

1. Deep Breath 8/10

2. Robot of Sherwood 8/10

3. Into the Dalek 7/10

1 month, 3 weeks ago on Your Verdict on Into the Dalek

Robin Hood and Doctor banter ~ I couldn't stop laughing every time they were together

Robin Hood and his merry men ~ I know a lot of people thought the merry men were underused, but I thought they were amusing! same as Robin Hood

Ben Miller ~ he is always great

Spoon fight ~ I actually loved it

I didn't feel any threat or menace in the episode

The robots didn't do much for me

A strange change of tone from the promised 'dark Doctor Who'

Overall: I liked this episode much more than many other people, it seems (for me) Mark Gattis keeps on getting better. Funny and heartfelt. 8/10

They are figures I can agree with. So far, my favourite to least favourite episodes of the season ( there's only two so far, of course):

1. Deep Breath 8/10

2. Into the Dalek 7/10

2 months ago on Your Verdict on Deep Breath

Danny Pink ~ he seems awesome

Rusty the good Dalek ~ he was incredible! and I loved it when he exterminated all the Daleks. That was the best moment of the episode for me.

"You are a good Dalek" - now THAT is a good line, especially when said to the Doctor.

Memories scene ~ the scene with the Doctor's mind inside Rusty's was incredible.

The Daleks actually exterminated people ~ finally

Underdeveloped supporting characters

The antibodies didn't impact me at all

Predictable outcome and flat story ~ they go inside good Dalek, get attacked by antibodies, escape, fix Dalek, Dalek turns bad again, Dalek turns good again. That was it, and it was easy to predict.

Overall: a solid and entertaining but unamazing ep. 7/10

Sounds good, why can't the weekend come faster. I may not get the wish answered for the Daleks being scary, but at least they kill people. I don't care if that makes me sound bad.

Personally, it was one of the best moments on the episode. It may be in my top ten list for best scenes in Doctor Who 2014.

The Daleks better be scary and evil, or this will fall flat

2 months, 1 week ago on Next Time: Into The Dalek

Ha fair enough. I do like the paternoster gang, but I think this episode should of dedicated more time to the relationship between the Doctor and Clara, as well as some more mad Doctor scenes. They were mostly there for humour, which was funny at times, but there were parts that didn't work for me. I still like them though.

2 months, 1 week ago on Rate & Discuss Deep Breath

Peter Capaldi is an amazing Doctor

Clara just got better

The villains were scary, and I loved the half-faced man

Some great scenes. Like the lunch scene at the restaurant. The scene where Clara is left alone and she must hold her breath. The scene with THAT phone call. The scene between the Doctor and the homeless man. The scene between the Doctor and the half-faced man.

Brilliant second and third acts.

Tired first act.

Dinosaur was not needed

The Paternoster gang were overused

Some disturbing rude jokes

Overall: a fantastic episode, but mildly flawed. Cannot wait for the rest of the series, Capaldi is fantastic!
