Surely you didn't get bored part-way through?

Which to choose?
'Fear Her' or 'National TV Awards'?
BRING ON THE CHLOE WEBBER!!
1 week, 3 days ago on 2015 National Television Awards UPDATE
I don't wish to offend anyone who enjoys this sort of thing, but personally, i cannot imagine a more banal way to spend an evening than watching this.
Of course i hope Doctor Who wins its category, but i think i'll pass on the programme and read the news here later on :)
The problem many fans have, myself included, is that Neil Gaiman went way beyond his remit with 'Nightmare in Silver'.
Being commissioned to 'make the Cyberman scary again', does not mean 'change their nature beyond all recognition'.
To fundamentally alter them as he did, was to remove just that which made them chilling in the first place; that they are basically us with bits added.
He was asked for 'a Cybermen story' and gave us 'a generic robot story'.
So for him to attempt to counter the criticism of NIS by saying 'Oh, but i did stretch Matt Smith', is imo a rather feeble response.
There are many other writers who too have provided Matt with wide ranging emotion and dialogue to flex his acting chops on, whilst still delivering a good solid story.
NB. I note that it has been suggested that the Cybermen would eventually evolve that far.
Of course, logically, if they were real, this would be the outcome.
However, for the purposes of Doctor Who, they should always remain true to the original conception.

@supermoff 'but with Strictly airing in the Autumn, Doctor Who is unfortunately subject to being pushed around. :/ '
...which is exactly why it should be broadcast, unhindered, in a regular time slot, in the spring.
End of April start, and ending in July, would be just perfect.

' Very true, they've inspired a generation :)'
I would add the word 'again' to that sentence.
Let's not forget that's how and why Doctor Who came back to the BBC in 2005.
It was, and still continues to be, written and produced by fans who grew up with Classic-Who.

Cyber Squirrel !!!
How much better could 'The Next Doctor' have been had it featured this little fella and his mates rather that the Cybershades?
Ok, not a lot i grant you, but he's still quite brilliant. Hats off to the author for his clever idea.
Very small Cyber helmet, check.
What's not to like?
@TheBlueDiary i would like to see that!
As Clara is going nowhere for a while it would certainly help to alter the dynamic and prevent things becoming stale.
Oh, and kudos for using the word 'gang' instead of that oft-used cliche 'Tardis team', which arguably, is more cheesy than a Dairylea convention ;)

@ScribeyQuite fond of 'The Kings Demons' myself for all the reasons you said.
Plus, it's a two-parter (classic-who style, app 25 x2 mins).
A nice, compact interesting little story with a good cliff-hanger half way through :)
Brilliant article Will. Love your humorous take on it all.

Looking forward to part two :)
@Amy is uniting the Earth Kingdom! Yes you can! You have every right to cite what you like.
Equally, i have every right to question it's validity.
You say 'Doctor Who has no canon'. I say it does, and for me that is the tv stories only, which came first and are the primary point of reference. The expanded whoniverse may be 'officially licenced', brilliant, inventive, wonderful, superb and often better than the tv show for some people, but it can also often be contradictory, as i'm sure you are aware.
So for me, there has to be a bottom-line in terms of canon, and that is the tv series.
2 months, 3 weeks ago on A Study of Regeneration: Lord or Lady?
@twoheartsonemind wants a Black Widow Movie @NeutronFlow is having a gender crisis @Amy is uniting the Earth Kingdom! Fair enough, i'm sorry that I offended you. :/
I agree, there are some great stories there, and you have every right to consider them canon, just as I have every right not to.
For me, for the record, I view tv stories as strict canon and other stuff as a cool what if?, possibly, maybe? sort of 'sideline'.
@Notsosmartguy Approves of female Master @NeutronFlow is having a gender crisis No probs there Notsosmartguy.
As long as the Doctor continues to be a bloke, he can wear whichever face and colour he gets with pride.
Unless he becomes Piers Morgan of course, in which case i would hope he regenerates again very quickly ...
@Rani NoseLike your style Rani Nose. Lol XD
@Notsosmartguy Approves of female Master Personally, i'm not happy with female Master, because as far as i am concerned, gender and identity are inextricably linked (even though some here would beg to differ).
Black Doctor however?
Bring it on!
As long as the Doctor continues to be a male character, he could be purple for all i care.
@Lord Styro the DrashigOk.
So are you suggesting then, that the Master is a woman now because that's what he wanted to be, and that he was able to somehow make that a reality?
@Amy is uniting the Earth Kingdom! Not sure you can validly back-up an argument by quoting non-canon fan-fiction which has clearly been authored by a sypathiser to your cause ...
@whovian213 has 66 seconds left to live! Surely it can't be a 50/50 chance?
If it were, the Doctor would have been a woman at least once before.

@Admin short for Administrator! @NeutronFlow is having a gender crisis @antimon_bush 'So because I'm a teenager my thoughts and opinions don't matter' If that is truly your interpretation of my post then maybe you should go back and read it again.
@The Genie Well David (if you don't mind me calling you that?), i was quite careful in my wording.
I did say 'many', i didn't say 'all'. Clearly, you are not one of the 'many' to whom i was referring.
The suggestion by some that i made a sweeping generalisation was simply incorrect.
And i very definitely did not suggest anyone here is 'ignorant'!
Also despite the suggestions of some others, I was not in the least bit patronising. I used the word 'young' in the descriptive sense because that's what i meant, not as an insult.
Sometimes one has to call a spade a spade. Beating around the bush doesn't really get one anywhere in a debate.
As for the 'selling' thing; while i understand your point, it must be appreciated that sometimes, there is no 'nice' way of saying something controversial; although i have noticed that you are better than most in that art ... ;)
@Admin short for Administrator! @NeutronFlow is having a gender crisis @Clara Bosswald approves of female Master @antimon_bush 'dismissing of other viewpoint'
Are we talking about me or you?
@The Genie @NeutronFlow is having a gender crisis @Admin short for Administrator! @antimon_bush 'gender-fluid' . True, but far too few to be considered any sort of norm.
And 'trans people'?
Well, you illustrate my point perfectly.
As far as they are concerned, until they manage to alter their gender, they are in the wrong body. And, once they have been able to change, they will never go back!
I say again, psychologically, gender isn't interchangeable.
@The Genie @Admin short for Administrator! @NeutronFlow is having a gender crisis @antimon_bushI haven't argued against equality.
I have though (perish the thought!), merely suggested that psychologically, gender isn't interchangeable.
@Clara Bosswald approves of female Master @NeutronFlow is having a gender crisis @antimon_bush Or maybe i'm not.
Maybe i just have a more realistic outlook ...
@Avor @eduardodemoura0 @antimon_bush 'Can you imagine? You love the person so much that you doesn't care'
Politically correct nonsense.
Are we all asexual now?
@antimon_bush Unfortunately, many of the noisiest posters here are all very young and have grown up during the 'excessively politically correct' era, essentially being brainwashed into thinking there is no difference between men and women.
@supermoff is waiting for heaven.... @Bored of Clara Who Interesting you should say that.
I think you have a rather short memory though supermoff, just let me jog it for you.
Here is a post of yours from yesterday ...
'Well...the Master is now a FEMALE character. FACT.'
Now this mindless immature rant wasn't part of a debate, or a reply to someone.
It was simply a trolling statement, designed to upset those who have an alternative viewpoint and cause an angry response.
Now you mention 'spiteful, hateful or just inconsiderate' in your post above.
All of which describe perfectly the tone of the text of yours I have quoted here.

@mczolly @Whovian64 Sorry, What??
Having been there at the time, i'm struggling to recall the events of which you speak ...
@TheOncomingFish I guess you're referring to the throwaway line regarding 'The Corsair'?
Well, odd contravertial lines can be generally ignored and forgotten in the bigger scheme of things, much like most fans choose to ignore or explain away Paul Mcgann's statement about the Doctor being 'half-human'.
What Moffat has done is different. He has taken it a stage further, and involved a major recurring character, thus altering established truth probably irreversibly.
@Clara Bosswald still wants a Black Widow Movie Please don't rewrite history. That is simply not true.
It was nothing more than a publicity stunt.
The idea that the Doctor may become a woman was no more than a ploy to get Doctor Who mentioned in the newspapers (which were particularly uninterested in the show at the time).
