And Moffat reigns supreme! This is not news to me but it does give me a happy. :)

Episodes I would have liked to have done better are:

.The Rings of Akhaten

.The Girl Who Waited

.Hide

.The Crimson Horror.

But I guess I cant have everything, so I will make do with Moffats run away victory :)

Whilst i don't personally agree with some of these. For example; The Girl Who Waited and The Rings of Akhaten, both are in my top 10 but don't appear in the top 20, and there are at least 6 episodes in the top 20 that completely dumbfound me. But there you go.

My top 20 mainly consist of moffat episodes so i am super happy to see Moffat getting the recognition he deserves. Also glad to see day win :)

For me personally, the only episode that I feel is anywhere near the brilliance of Day, would have been Name. So I wish it had come down to those 2. Now that, I would have found almost impossible to decide. Blink is a great episode, but for me, it only just narrowly makes it into my top 20. Therefore, Day gets my vote, every time.

@Polyphase I always found that strange. I never understood how someone can say the best episode of Doctor Who, is the one with hardly any Doctor.

If Day does win, it would seem fitting that the best episode, actually had an abundance of Doctor :-)

This is where I dip out of the voting. None of these episodes are anywhere near my own top ten. So I can't vote on episodes that I dont believe in. Since these polls started, one thing I have come to realise is that I don't follow popular opinion, with some of the more well received episodes, being nearer the bottom for me, and vice versa, some of the more diversive episodes are my favourite episodes.

Sorry, but this article lost me at - However, the chief grievance from most Whovians is the quality of writing we have had, expressly in the current Moffat era

Yes there are people that think this, maybe even a lot of people, and they have every right to feel that way. But to say that most whovians are not happy with the writing, is simply not true.

@Beasts_a_Snarling - Servant of the Union of Three!  But a lot of us enjoy the nostalgia. In fact some of us would enjoy even more nostalgia. I think it is quiet possible to reference the past whilst still maintaining new and fresh ideas. I think Moffat manages to blend old and new ideas brilliantly.

Listen all the way. Any episode that depicts parts of The Doctors life before he left Gallifrey is a winner for me. I never ever want to know too much about The Doctor, for example: I never want to know his name, but little tid bits here and there are really exciting.

I love 12 so much, its nice to have a Doctor whom is so different in character to his immediate predecessors. 10 and 11 were both very playful, fun and tactile. I wouldn't say that 12 was grumpy or arrogant. Personally I find 12 to be quiet vulnerable in many ways. I think it is inevitable that 12 would and should mellow as his time goes on. As long as the banter between 12 and Clara continues I will be a happy bunny.

The only ones from this list id like to return would be the paternoster gang. If they are to leave, let's have one last adventure with them. My evil side says kill them all, but I do like them so they can live.

Other than that, the only other contenders, for me would be Psi and Saibra and Shona.

I don't know, i guess I just get a little defensive when I see people giving the show a hard to time. I can't quiet understand why people watch something and then go on line to complain about it. To me its like going to a restaurant, seeing plenty of things you know you would like on the menu, but instead you chose something that you don't like, and then sit there eating it but complaining about how much your hating every mouthful.  I just don't get it.

I do understand and agree, that the return of a past companion or monster, has to feel right and justified. But i always thought it strange, that for 95% of the companions, he never sees them again. Personally i find that really unbelievable. For example, Susan, why she has not returned is beyond me. I find it totally unbelievable that The Doctor would have never talked about her.  and worse still, he never returned to her even when he thought he had ran out of regenerations, meaning that he dropped her off all those years ago, promising to one day come back, and never have done so.

I also don't buy this idea that bringing back someone or something from the past wouldn't work because people are not familiar with them, people are not familiar with any new monsters either. Its the same thing really. People that knew them from the past will instantly know them, and newer fans will get to know them as they would a new character or monster.

2nd Gallifrey to return

3rd More past companions and monsters to return ( i am a sucker for a return )

4th Less of the Earth/ the universe is about to be destroyed

5th I like the monster of the week type episodes, but maybe lets have them every few weeks. Quality not quantity.

@Huknar  I don't feel like Rivers story is over at all because I always felt like 11 was not Rivers Doctor. I always thought that we would have seen her in the future with an older Doctor. I got that from when she said to 11, "if you will insist on wearing the face of a 12year old". So I was a little shocked that her goodbye to 11 seemed as though he was her Doctor after all. Then again.....spoilers!

I would have been absolutely devastated if Death in Heaven had been Clara's last episode, especially if it had all ended on a lie, and so unceremoniously. I remember screaming at the tv..no no no! it cant end like that, Clara has done too much for The Doctor for it to end so unsatisfyingly.

The Paternoster Gang, as much as I love them all individually, I just cant see anywhere else for them to go, within Doctor Who. However I am one of the people who likes to see an old friend pop up from time to time. I would like to see Donna, River, Tasha Lem or The Paternoster gang, oh and some classic companions of course, come back for the odd appearance every now and again.

I have said this before but I really feel as though that episode, along with Forrest of the Night would have worked better had they been on alien planets, which allows you to suspend your belief that little bit extra. Personally I didn't mind that the moon was an egg, my problem came when it hatched and layed the second egg. As I said had this been an alien world, I think it would have been that little bit more believable. Having said that, I still rate the episode 8/10, because I enjoyed the overall story very much.

@joe4 @91 Queen of Evil Well that's a matter of opinion. I and a lot of other people think that Moffat has done an excellent job. I mean are people really going to endlessly complain all the way through his time on the show? Instead of just enjoying it? Moffat is not ruining peoples enjoyment of the show, the complainers are doing that all by themselves. If these people dislike Moffat so much, come back to the show once he has left, maybe they will enjoy the new show runner more, or probably not when it turns out not to be RTD.

Great Article :)

One thing that I always tell myself when watching Doctor Who or any time travel based fiction, is that anything seen in the future is never set in stone. Simply because it hasn't happened yet and can be changed. Maybe just by knowing that something happens in the future, it somehow subconsciously effects a decision that you would have made differently had you not known about it. Or simply time can be rewritten. For example: Orson Pink, maybe he existed in the future, because Clara and Danny were meant to have children, but Missys interference caused his death, therefore time was rewritten, and no more Orson Pink.

The Other thing I try to think is, if the story I am watching is not directly linked to another episode, I tend to watch each story as though it is a stand alone episode, therefore contradictions become a lot more forgivable.

When a show deals with extraordinary subjects, namely time and space travel, I think we shouldn't  get too caught up on inconsistences or contradictions, because as of yet both are either very limited or impossible to us. So to try to explain how such things should work is kind of silly.

Im hoping for 6x2 parters and an hour long Christmas special. I personally wish we could have a series like the classic series 1, with William Hartnell, something that feels like one continues journey, stumbling from one adventure into the next.

Yet again, the mere mention of change brings out the usual, "noooo its going to be even more ruined then it was before" brigade. Why must every change be met with negativity?

Which I would take offence to if it wasn't for the fact that I know myself very well, and I always stive to be a better person than I was yesterday.

If you think I'm horrible because I didn't like a character in TV show then I would suggest that your a tad over sensitive. I really have no desire to get into a row with someone on the net about if I am a nice person or not.

I like it when people stand up to him, Clara and most of his past companions have stood up to him at some point. Danny Pink was relentlessly rude to him, he a should have more respect.
