The Bells of Saint John 9/10 Celia Imerie was wonderful. Matt and Jenna were also fantastic in this episode
The Rings of Akhaten 10/10 I don't care what anyone says about this episode. People can pull it to pieces as much as they like about how scientifically implausible parts were. I still don't care. For me this is in my top 3 episodes of all time. The Music, The aliens, The speeches were all amazing to me. I was captivated the whole way through. It was only when I read other peoples critisims, I was like what? why are people taking the science part so seriously. I just hope that the reaction to this episode doesn't hinder us from having more alien world episodes in the future. My one disappointment with s8 was not enough off world episodes, I hope that is not a direct reaction to the poor reception of Rings.
Cold War 7/10I liked this episode up until the Ice Warrior reveal, the cgi just killed it for me, they looked nothing like what I would have imagined. I still do not understand why they didn't use prosthetics and make up like they do with vastra

" you may be a Doctor, but I am The Doctor, The genuine article you might say"
I love the character of The Doctor, and whilst I may enjoy some incarnations more than others, I still love every incarnation almost equally. Whilst it may take longer with some incarnations, I always feel that the right person has been chosen to play the role. I love that moment when you say "yes, yes yes, he is The Doctor"
The Power of Three 8/10.. I enjoyed this episode a lot apart from the very quick resolution at the end. I loved the idea of the Shakri, I really hope that they are expanded on in the future.
The Angels Take Manhattan 8/10. I enjoyed this episodes, I loved the baby angels, I loved River and 11 in this episode. However by this point I was ready for Amy and Rory (Amy in particular) to leave so I didn't find it even slightly emotional, which is sad.
The Snowmen 10/10. Superb episode, one of my all time favourites for so many reasons. For me this is when the new darker era really began

Series 7, my favourite series overall.
Asylum of the Daleks - 10/10 Superb and exciting new take on The Daleks .... "Help us" I thought was just brilliant. Oswin was also a superb introduction to Jenna Coleman. My one and only criticism was the revelation that Amy could no longer have children after the event at demons run...I just found that to be totally unnecessary.
Dinosaurs on a Spaceship - 9/10 Great fun episode, loved Brian, loved Soloman. and it was nice to see The Doctor with his "gang"
A Town Called Mercy 7/10 This is probably my least favourite episode from s7, but still a good episode with some interesting comparisons between The Doctor and Kahler-Jex.

I have said this before, but I feel the need to say it again. If you only love one Doctor or particular era, that is absolutely fine and there is nothing wrong with that. But to me that makes you a fan, a fan of that era or Doctor. But it is when you accept, enjoy and even welcome the change, that is when you become a true Whovian.
Personally, i believe that the show is going from strength to strength and I have loved almost every line from Mr Moffat, I will be very sad to see him go, but when it is eventually announced I will look forward to seeing what adventure and which direction we are heading in next. For me this is the beauty in Doctor Who. I just wish that some fans would see and understand what a special thing we have going here. no other show can remain the same show and reinvent itself all at the same time.

Vincent and The Doctor, is my lowest ranking Moffat era episode. I WS in the closet about it for fear of pitchforks lol but I've decided to come out......I just don't get it. I think this is the only episode that I dislike that I know! Most love. But then some of my favorite's get slated regularly so, I've decided each to their own :-)
OK here we go... This is the one I was dreading because I know! that people will think I've gone mad....
Vincent and The Doctor - 5/10 to be honest I'm being slightly generous, so that I'm not driven out of town by an angry mob. I just dont enjoy this episode at all.
The Lodger - 6/10 would have been more except I never did like James Corden
Now after all that negativity out the way
The Pandorica Opens - 10/10
A Christmas Carol - 10/10 all three use time travel in really clever and thought provoking ways.
The only thing that could make this news any better would be if Missy has her own Tardis. I'm also thinking, if the first episode is The Magicians apprentice, and that refers to The Doctor and Clara or even a new companion. Then maybe episode 2, The Witches Familiar could maybe involve Missy and her new companion. If so then I am secretly hoping for Osbad.

@joe4 @91 Queen of Evil I respectful disagree. I think the show is getting better and better. Just when I think I couldn't love it more, I'm proved wrong. Mr Moffat is genius, I hope he stays for a good while longer. However if he does leave, I will move on and be excited to see what new direction we are going in next. And that's the difference.
1 week, 4 days ago on Say Something Nice: Internet Fandom
I also think that there are an element of people that like to think that they are the number one fan, the very authority on everything Who related, and therefore have to challenge everyone, and put their views across as facts. Which can get under peoples skin.
We all love the show, and if your anything like me, Doctor who is not just a show, it is a life choice lol. I shouldn't, but I sometimes become defensive, when someone comes out bashing the show relentlessly, and a lot of the time unnecessarily.
I can kind of understand when people fell like the show they love is slipping away, but the great thing is that it never stays the same for long, so if you embrace the change, and try to enjoy it, instead of dissecting every detail, it will eventually move into a new era. If you still don't enjoy it then I think the best thing to do is admit defeat on move on and rewatch the era you do enjoy. One thing that will never happen is Chris David Mat or RTD coming back full time. So it seems redunt to even argue about who is better.
I just hope that when S9 starts, we don't have the usual Moffats ruining it comments. Because by then he will be into his 5th year as show runner. So evidentially he's doing smething right .
1 week, 5 days ago on Say Something Nice: Internet Fandom
Thank you for this article. I sometimes find myself avoiding the coments section for long periods because the negativity, particularly when, as you rightly say, tends to be the same people, it really dissheartnes me. I want to come to these comment sections to discuss my enjoyment, with like minded people, and all to often you can be discussing something with someone, and somebody else feels the need to jump in with, no! Sorry your wrong, and here's why...... Which is just unnecessary.
One thing that I really don't think helps is the constant which is better debates, however this is something that I guess is inevitable about the show, because of the basic concept...change!
Personally I think, that if you love one era or Doctor only, then that is absolutely fine, but for me that makes you a fan. It's is only when you accept, embrace and even welcome the change, that is when you become a real whovian. Once you embrace the change, the show goes from being something amazing to something even more.
The Doctor and The Tardis had to be number one.
I agree with most of these except for Clara and Danny. I despised Danny Pink, I didn't think that he was right for Clara at all, and I hate to say this but I was relieved when he died. I thought it odd that many people felt that The Doctor was too harsh on Danny, I felt the complete opposite. I felt like Danny was incredibly and relentlessly disrespectful toward The Doctor. I also didn't like the way he gave Clara an ultimatum that he dressed up as he was just looking out for her. But my biggest problem with him was that I found him to be a massive hypocrite, constantly digging at The Doctor about being a blood soaked general etc, when he himself had killed a child, albeit by accident but still. He of all people should understand that when you go to war unfortunately innocent people end up dead.

Planet of the Dead 7/10 I liked this story, it felt very different to me, which is always good.
The Waters of Mars 5/10 I don't even know where to start with this one, so I will just say that I found this story incredible boring.
The End of Time 10/10 Brilliant! loved the return of Rassilon and the TimeLords.
Now for Moffats era where I will be mostly dishing out 10s a few 9s and the occasional 8s and maybe one 5.
@Bow Ties Are Cool @91 Queen of Evil I do love it :) Rose,Matha,Donna,Davros what's not to love? Ok I understand that the Earth being pulled by the Tardis was a bit cheesy and far fetched, but it wasn't the first and certainly wont be the last far fetched thing to have happened in the show. But then we had Donna's exit, which still chokes me up every single time I see it. For me it still remains the most emotional companion exit ever.

Such a great run of episodes.
Remember at the end of Forest of the Night, Danny told Clara to tell him the truth about her relationship with the Doctor, but that she must think about it first, before she rushes in with another lie. So basically I just see this scene as her doing that.

The Doctors Daughter 9/10 ... A fun episode, 2 companions, and the ending was brilliant "make the foundation for this society - a man that never would"
The Unicorn and the Wasp 7/10 ... I have never really been a fan of the meeting a historical figure, but as far as those episodes go, this was one of the better ones, for me
Silence in the Library 10/10 ... The introduction of River Song was brilliant, I loved the idea that she was someone from his future. Oh and the introduction of "Spoilers!"
Forest of the Dead 9/10 ... Scores slightly lower than the first part mainly because I wasn't overly keen on the whole storing River in the computer.

2 weeks, 2 days ago on Doctor Who and Episode Rankings
I can only speak for myself, but I would almost never rank an episode below a 5 because I genuinely believe that no episode (with the exception of one) deserves to be ranked below average. I also believe that the show is getting better and better as it progresses. Many people criticize s7b, but for me not only are there 3-4 episodes that I would rank 10, but they are some of my favorite episodes ever. Personally I try not to concern myself with how other people vote. For me my Doctor Who experience is my own. Just in the same way that I don't read movie reviews, because some movies that are critically slammed, I have loved, and vice versa, I have hated some movies that are widley considered good. It is all very subjective and personal. But I am not quite sure why anyone would have a problem with other people ranking episodes 9 or 10, just because they feel that those episodes don't deserve it.
I see nothing wrong with ranking every episode a 9 or 10 if that is how you geniunly feel. I would say that I rank episodes 8 9 and 10s more often than not, because that is how I feel. I enjoy the wide variety that Doctor Who gives us. I am glad that it is not one thing for too long, and even when it is going through an era, I enjoy the episodes that are stand out, unique episodes. But I also love the standard monster of the week episodes. The other thing is that I tend not to rank episodes against each because I think, episodes can be so different to each other that to compare them would be unfare. So I tend to rank episodes as an individual pieces of television.
As a side note, myself and my boyfriend put an hour at least aside every night, to watch an episode or two together, we take it in turns and inevitability, we sometimes end up chosing an episodes that one of us loves! but the other is not so keen on, but we always end up pointing out things that other has either missed, or parts that we love, and more often than not, we end thanking each other for suggesting an episode that we may not normally watch as much as others, and because of that, episodes that I would have ranked lower, suddenly become more enjoyable, and therefore their score in my mind goes up a little.
All 7s this time

@Ivegotkidneys I can't believe how much I'm having to explain these comments. Gentleman was a polite way of saying he is too mature to be wearing a hoodie. I associate hoodies with teenagers or thugs. Besides its not really that much of an issue, I just think the shirts are a lot better.
2 weeks, 6 days ago on Series 9 Filming: Capaldi on Set
@BazHood @Gallade Zero @91 Queen of Evil I said T-shirt, but OK Jumper, all the same, is nice but does not work with the rest of the ensemble, IMO of course :-) but the hoodie, all I can say is, I'm sorry but its hideous. It might be OK for a teenager, but for gentlemen not so much. The shirts, (actual shirts) look much nicer. Maybe lose the horrible hoodie and I will reevaluate. It might not be so bad if the jumper hoodie and Jacket were all the same shade and colour. Still the hair! I love the hair.
3 weeks ago on Series 9 Filming: Capaldi on Set
@TheBlueDiary I refuse to respect the hoodie, i snear at the very idea of the hoodie. Honestly, if I saw anyone in a hoodie I would demand they burn it, immediately. Or I couldn't possibly continue the conversation (same applies for tracksuits or joggers). In all seriousness, I just prefer the shirts. But I'm loving the crazy hair :-)
@Gallade Zero @91 Queen of Evil The shirt is awesome, on its own, but with the Jacket and the vile hoodie, no way, to many ideas going on. To be honest he looks like a big space tramp, to me. 🙊 :O
Loving the wild hair, hate the hoodie and the tshirt. it just doesn't go with the jacket at all. I hate to say this, but the hoodie and the tshirt, in my opinion are way to young for Capaldi.
