Just a thought but when The Doctor says "I have made many mistakes, its about time I did something about that" that coupled with location filming and returning characters and monsters and familiar places, might The Doctor actually be revisiting past adventures to try to put right the mistakes he has made? Why not? It would seem a logical thing to happen at some point.

I love how this looks, the special effects, the monsters, the darker tone but most of all The Tardis looks amazing!!!
@NewWho2012 @RhonDOH is getting Six Seasons and a Movie!! I'm British and my Nan is Irish and I still don't find it funny. Lmao did you really put The Chuckle Brothers up there with great British sitcoms? Lol
2 weeks, 3 days ago on Does Time Travel Work on the Big Screen?
@RhonDOH is getting Six Seasons and a Movie!!
"He's not The Doctor, he's a very naught boy!"
Thinking about it, a lot of people say that it wouldn't work because not enough people would go and see it, but I have to say that I live in Birmingham so England's 2nd biggest city, and I went to see Day if the Doctor in our biggest screen, and it was so busy that they opened up a second screen, and showed it for the rest of the week, because of the demand. It was shown at four separate cinemas and all were busy. So my guess is that it could and would work.
@The Last Son of Gallifrey I hadn't thought of that, but yes maybe they could sort of reboot it and have one story from each Doctor, obviously recasting Doctors 1-7, and then 8-13 (including War) could be played McGann,Hurt,Ecclestone,Tennant,Smith and Capaldi.
It could pick up on any major plot points over the years, but also add a layer that links a hidden story between each film.
@RhonDOH is getting Six Seasons and a Movie!! Well Mrs Brown is Irish but close enough lol. I love drag queens (RPDR) and men cross dressing as older ladies can be hilarious, Mrs Doubtfire,Dame Edna etc but it just seems so old fashioned to me, it almost feel a like its a sitcom from the 90s
Time travel has always fascinated me, but I never really give too much thought to the mechanics of time travel in film or television. I ignore any plot holes I may see, because I console myself with the fact that know one knows how time travel, paradox's and general timely whimeyness would work in reality, for know time travel is just a story, so I just accept the story as it is told.
@RhonDOH is getting Six Seasons and a Movie!! I agree 100% I do not see the humour in Mrs Brown at all. For me had it have been a real old lady then it might! have been funny. I just think its a very old joke that's been done a thousand times before.
I think this combines with the Davros returning. How amazing would it be to see Davros rising to take control of the Daleks once again, through Dalek eyes. Done right this could be amazing!

After replaying like 50 times, It sounds to me like, it starts off as Davros and then turns into a Dalek. I really want Davros to come back, even more than The Master. I just find him so creepy and sinister and I think he would be brilliant opposite Capaldi.

@stargazer0118 Davros, I've never really understood the fascination with The Master.
For me I have never been keep on this new idea that everything needs to be humaniseds in order to make it more "realistic" and "identifiable". It happens a lot lately, with Super heroes movies taking a more "realistic, darker and relatable" approach. Call me old fashioned, but I like my Superhero's to be Super and my Aliens to be Alieny.
3 weeks ago on The Doctor: Half-Human on his Mother’s Side?
@StephenAHayes But it's not a human with a Time Lord brain, if they were born that way. Donna could not handle aTime Lords brain because she was not born with it, whereas River was born half human half Time Lord and she was fine.
@doctorwhomultiverse I asume that you can be born half human half Time lord because the DNA has time to grow and bond, but you can't fuse the DNA of a Time Lord a living breathing human. That's why Donnas brain could not sustain the Time Lord DNA unlike River who was born half human half Time Lord.
Ok , so after much thought, at first I was kind of against the idea, however I think it really depends how it was handled. When I hear something that I'm not sure about, rather than dismiss it I try to look at it from the point of view, how would I accept this. So here is a simple idea that I personally would be happy with. The Doctors father was just like The Doctor, and just like The Doctor he found earth and fell in love with an human girl, however! at the time it was forbidden by Time Lord law for Time Lords to have interspecies relationships or children. This could then be part of the reason The Doctor fled Gallifrey in the first place, because the high council found out that The Doctor and Susan were part human and therefore illegal.
My guess is that the gravestones are being shot in the same graveyard, but in the story they will be in their rightful place, or that the Gatekeeper has done something and it is not a real place but more of a hypothetical graveyard, a collection of gravestones that relate to The Doctor, or! The Doctor in his post regenerative state, ends up in a graveyard, but everywhere he looks he sees the Gravestones of all the people that he has loved and lost, or some combination of the three, OR! None of the above and we get so e crazy Moffat madness.

In Day of the Doctor i had asumed that the currator had given her the scarf and that it was actually the fourth Doctors scarf, so maybe not, unless she somehow has access to his wardrobe
I already can't wait to see what she wears next.
@Warisfiller I'm the opposite, I like Osgood but I don't particularly like Kate.
So why does Osgood keep wearing things that the Doctor has worn? Is she just a fan girl cosplayer or is there more to it? Hmmmm Interesting!
As much as I love the man, its obvious that Moffat is up to his usual trick of winding up the entire fandom. The Doctor could! be a woman, The Doctor could! be human, The Doctor could! be a chair etc. Like I said I do love Moffat and everything he has done thus far, however not every story and aspect of the show needs to have a long drawn out, complicated and hidden history.I fear that Moffat believes he can and will do as he pleases regardless of how it relates to the rest of the shows history.
Please Moffat do what you keep telling us that your going to do, which is looking to the future, not constantly messing with the past and trying to make it "clever" all the time.

I 100% agree with every word in this article. Well done!
3 weeks, 3 days ago on Why Bringing Back Gallifrey Is Right…
Personally I would not like Gallifrey to turn out to be Earth or that Time Lords are evolved humans. However I have always wanted the question answered as to why so many of the alien species look so human. My personal little story has always been that the Time Lords created different races throughout the universe and kept watch over them, and that the human race had somehow disappointed them but The Doctor always had faith that we could better ourselves and accomplish greatness and therefore vowed to protect us.
3 weeks, 3 days ago on An Earthly Gallifrey
We need a good balance, whilst I agree that the story's and monsters themselves could possibly be a little scarier, I don't want The Doctor to become too dark himself. Part of why I love the Doctor is his lighthearted side.

@Seaborn W Deadman I love a vilaness, they are always my favorite characters, however I am not in favor of either a female Doctor or Master, I see no need to have the characters change Gender. I have never understood that if we want a strong character to equal the Doctor, why we can't just have a strong female character, instead of changing a male character into a female character. To me that creates the opposite effect of what was intended. Its like saying a strong woman can't just be a strong woman in her own right but that she should have once been male.

@Unibot @The Living Angel I think Davros opposite Capaldi would be amazing!
@The Outer Space K9 Agreed, although I'm more of a vilaness kinda guy. Call me crazy but I prefer the idea of the Rani over the Master.
@Baker Street… is the Moment! Now that would be interesting.

Personally I would much rather Davros returned.
Having said that, if the Master does return, please please please let it be Alan Rickman.
I would love to see a story where Davros has created a completely new race to rival the Daleks.

@Liam Thomas Well for a start on several of your comments, particularly the one a bit further up the thread, where you refer to people as "dudebros" and all the other comments whereby you basically accuse anyone whom does not agree with the context of this article of being sexist. Those are the things that damage the cause. Your coming across as though you have a chip on your shoulder. Just because someone does not see the sexism that you apparently do, does not make them a sexist.
My personal mantra in life is this.... We can never control the things that people say, but we can control how we let it effect us.
1 month, 2 weeks ago on Sexism and Doctor Who: The Truth
Im sorry but you can not claim on one hand to be a human right activist and then on the other hand make the statements that you are making.
I too am an advocate for equally rights but I fear that the way you and so many others put things across, damage the cause rather than helping it.
Every person on this planet can, will and have been prejudiced at some point and to claim that certain groups are immune goes against everything that you are fighting for.
When you are saying things like Men hating women is excepted in society but when women hate men, she is seen as crazy, what you are doing is dismissing that prejudice, and that is not what a true human rights activist is about.
1 month, 3 weeks ago on Sexism and Doctor Who: The Truth
Personally I was one of those people that felt compelled to reply to someone when they had been rude or challenged my opinion, but just recently I have decided that if someone chooses to respond to my statement with any negativity, then I simply do not reply back, because unfortunately these people are the kinds of people that will find a counter argument for everything that you say, so its really not worth getting into it, especially when you know that the other person is either immovable from their opinion or just plain argumentative.
I long for the days when we can all just get back to discussing the show that we all love, and give appreciation to the people that spend their own time writing these articles for us all to enjoy and discuss.
1 month, 3 weeks ago on Dear Whovians…
If something or somebody is sexist/racist/homophobic or any other form of prejudice, you don't need a test to prove that.
I actually find it quite insulting that somebody thought that the rest of us were so stupid that we couldn't see obvious sexism etc, and that we need percentages and graphs to prove it.
One point that really bothers me is this explanation that the test is based on two women talking to each other about something other than a man. Whilst I understand this, it does not make sense to use this test in this context, because for example, River and Amy, of course their conversation is going to revolve around men, The Doctor and Rory. Instead of judging what they talk about, why don't we look at their actions, and personally I find River,Amy and Clara to be exceptionally strong and independent women, sure they have all done things out of love for The Doctor but equally he has done things out of love for them. The Doctor saves the day and saves the girl, but many many times it is them that have saved the day and saved him.
I'm sorry but I think this whole subject is ridiculous, and is just another example of certain people being overly sensitive. Some people wil always find bigotry in some form, no matter what they watch. It infuriates me that people get so easily offended. I'm sorry but the whole world does not revolve around these people and their delicate feelings. We all get upset and offended sometimes but most of us dust ourselves off and get on with.
My mind is officially blown by that Rain trailer. I salute whoever is responsible for that. I'd probably go as far as to say its even better than any trailer the BBC would produce.

No contest. Dalek is such a brilliant reintroduction to the Daleks, whereas Cold War was below average in my opinion. The worst thing of all, was that it seemed really exciting to see this new element, the creature inside.....exciting! But then the CGI just killed it for me. Another 10/10 from me. I Don't understand why some people were disappointed with the end? I mean ok it turns out that they were not monsters intent on destruction, however for me, this made a nice change. I have always thought that we could do with an episode where we had a character that looks evil but actually is quite the opposite, its like a metaphor for not judging people on their appearance.
@davidcm1991 @The Living Angel Rings is amazing! It is also one of my favorites of all time :-)

Personally I would go with Neil Cross or Tom MacRae, I just feel that they could change the direction and the dynamic of the show better than the others. With the others i feel as though it would still feel like the same show, and the point being, a change in showrunner, means a completely new era. In my wildest dream case scenario it would be Josh Whedon. Imagine Josh Whedon writing and Peter Jackson Directing. Epic!

@HisNameIsTheDoctor @The Living Angel Series 7 but mostly 7b is Amazing!, I rated nearly all episodes 10. I Don't see 95% of the problems that others see. I think it has been genius! My issues are minor little niggles really.
@BeyondThePolice @The Living Angel no no, I didn't hate the episode, just the crappy CGI Ice Warrior. I have issues with CGI, I wish TV and film wouldn't use it where its not necessary. The episode itself was just ok for me, but I gave it a 6 because its Doctor Who and I don't think any episode deserves less than a 5 :-)
6/10, I absolutely hated! The IceWarriors reveal, the CGI was so poorly done. I really don't understand why they didn't just use make up and prosthetics, like vastra.
Series 7b is for me the best Who we have ever had, except for 2 slight niggles, which are the Ice Warrior reveal and the lack of Tardis in Journey to the center of the Tardis.
@HopeAbigailMacLeod I have thought about this a lot, why did the Tardis not translate some languages. I came to the conclusion that, maybe because this is Clara's first time encountering such beings, maybe The Tardis Translation takes a while, especially with the more non human looking aliens.
4 months, 3 weeks ago on Best of Matt Smith: The Rings of Akhaten
I really want more space, alien worlds and alternate universe episodes. I would love for something to happen that prevents, The Doctor, or rather The Tardis from traveling through time (for a short while, maybe a series) So that The Doctor is forced to explore new worlds for a while. Then when he regains the ability to travel through time, it will be exciting :-)
10/10. Series S7b kicks ass :-) all tens from here on in, from me.

@Notsosmartguy I know your right, and it does make her different, it's just my own little prefrence. I find it harder to accept, I personally prefer it all to feel like one continuous journey. But then again, I guess from The Doctor's point of view, it is.

I liked Victorian Clara, but I think the fact that Vastra but more importantly Jenny are reoccurring Victorian Characters , it might have been too much victorian. Talking of Jenny, I think she would have made an excellent companion for The Doctor.
@Notsosmartguy Asylum of the Daleks and The Snowmen were the moments when my favorite show of all time, and one that i thought could never get any better, suddenly became something even more brilliant than it ever was before :-)

10/10 Not only is it the best Christmas episode by far! But it is also up there with the greatest episodes in general. For me almost all of s7b will be 10's. I strongly suspect that s8 will be a lot like s7b in overall tone.
7/10. My main problem is that by the time the Ponds had left, I wanted them to go. So it just wasn't emotional for me at all.

@Gustaff Why is it about taking sides? The Doctor did what he had to do, in order to save young Amy. Old Amy had every right to be angry, he had left her there for 40 years, Id be pretty peed off too. :)
10/10 one of the best episodes of all time.
The use of Time Travel has never been done better on Doctor Who. The final scenes are heart wrenchingly brilliant! This is one episode I could watch over and over. I honestly don't have enough words to express how much I love it.
The Sontarans could never be scary, not with their current design.
@NewWho2012 One of my favs is;
River: "Professor River Song, The Doctor may have mentioned me"
Clara; "oh yes, I hadn't realized you were a woman"
Strax "Neither had I"
@NotQuiteATimeLord Yes! that's what I meant, I had a bit of a brain fart :)
@plasticsoulman @TheOncomingHurricane surely a Vervoid should be working in a florist? Or would that be like canabalism?
@Timhogan @The Living Angel ok, well if the situation ever arrises, I'll take the potatoes with a gun and you can take the hungry nashing beast.
@Timhogan @The Living Angel yeah but if you get shot, then its over pretty quickly, the eating could go on for hours :'(
@Timhogan @The Living Angel Well I guess its just a case of what you do and don't find scary. Personally I'd be more fearful of the teeth. I should I imagine I taste lovely, but I really don't want to be eaten lol
@Timhogan @Nightmarish The major difference is that is real life. When your watching a story, if the aggressor looks ridiculous, then of course it wouldn't feel as frightening.
@Timhogan @The Living Angel I agree that actions are important, and I totally agree that more of these race should actually kill people. However I think the design is key. I mean what's scarier, a Sontaran with a gun or a monster, with no facial features beside a mouth of sharp teeth coming at you?
@Nightmarish It just takes more to scare people now a days.
I MEANT.... TIME OF THE DOCTOR :-)
@Nightmarish Exactly! I felt a bit like those episodes seemed very childish and silly and that was down to the Sontarans, just not being scary.
I do not blame Strax for the demise of the Sontaran threat. I believe, the basic design of the Sontarans Is what makes them non threatening. What people found scary in the 60s and 70s is not what people find scary today.
I think that with a lot of the old monsters that have been bought back since 2005, they have suffered slightly in the design. I'm not saying that they are not well made, simply that they need to be pumped up a little. For example, The Zygons modern design stayed true to the original, only now they look more evil and menacing. The Whispermen design, the Angels (when baring their teeth),The crooked man are all great examples of a modern scary monsters.
Some thing's that I would like to see, to make things scary again would be: I would have the Cyberman redisgned, so that you could see a pair of eyes, that look distressed, blankly glaring out from inside the classic teardrop eye design. The Daleks: I would have the casing become transparent ,so that you could see the creature inside, again the creature inside could be pumped up slightly to look even more gruesome. Or maybe a Dalek race made entirely from humans, so you could have a crooked human body inside. Basically, for any monster to be taken seriously, in today's world they need to be more evil and grusome looking.
Personally I like Strax, I think its nice to see a one off, unique character in an otherwise feared race. However I did not like the edition of the comic Sontarans in the Name of the Doctor, I felt like it made Strax less special
@Nightmarish me 2, I like to be left thinking, wow! what the hell just happened? and then rewatch, discuss and speculate. For me its half the fun :-)

@Chris502 Agreed. Hand on my heart i believe that Moff has done a few things differently to how I would have liked, but on the whole, he has taken the show into internationally success and given us some truly brilliant ideas and monsters.
@Chris502 I love it when some people say its too complicated or its full of plot holes, when what they actually mean is, I didn't understand it. Even when it has been explained on screen.
@MaraBackman Very nicely said :) Also Doctor Who is unique, in the way that we are all whovians, yet due to the very nature of the show, it is somewhat divisive. We have 13 Doctors, numerous Companions,Monsters,Show runners and writers, so inevitably, we will all have our favourites. I just think a true whovian, knows that the show is about change and therefore should not only accept but embrace any changes.
@stargazer0118 @TheOncomingHurricane I think Martha was feisty.
@TheOncomingHurricane The Doctor likes them feisty :)
Why does it always descend into RTD v Moffat.
RTD left years ago and he is never coming back, one day Moffat will leave and he wont be back either. So please, just build a bridge and get the hell over it.
Oh Please!, Moffat writes brilliant female character, Amy,River,Clara,Vastra,Jenny,Tasha etc, all ballsy head strong women. These women are more than a match for any man, so how is that sexist? I could understand if all these women were written as weak and feeble, but they are not at all. A prime example is Jenny, she is from a time when women were not equal to men and had hardly any rights what so ever, yet Moffat still writes her as a kick ass, head strong woman.
@Jamesss well maybe she flirts with him so much because, she doesn't know when she will she him again, also im guessing they never consummated their relationship.

Newsflash!!! Being gay isn't solely about sex.
@HeisenBergEverton It doesn't matter that you say it in a joking way with your friends, but you are using the word in a negative way, a way that sounds very much like gay is a joke, negative etc. Just because you can say something, doesn't always mean you should.
@JamesVaughan Is that in response to me?
@Meh Meh Meh Meh Meh When people say that you can be encouraged to be gay, I take that as an admittance of supressed gay feelings, because If you truly believe that you can be encouraged to be gay then does that mean you could be encouraged to be gay? Because I, as a gay man could never! be encouraged to be straight.
It is who you are as person not something you learn or just decided to be just to be a bit different.
@Meh Meh Meh Meh Meh It maybe your opinion, but it is offensive simple!Having the right to an opinion doesnt always mean that you should voice those opinions in a public forum, if you say something offensive then don't be surprised when people get offended.

@KingOrokos @The Fall of the Eleventh @Chris502
CGI is cheaper for let's say creating a whole army of different types of creature design, however on a smaller scale, for example, one! Lone character prosthetics and make up are a fraction of the price. Prosthetics only become expensive when you want to create an army of real actors in make up.
@Amy the Consulting Commentator
Beyond bad! It really frustrates me, the hours I spend sculpting, molding and fabricating, to make a design look as realistic as possible and then they just go and throw unrealistic CGI at it.
What made it worse for me was that when the Ice Warrior is in his armor, you can clearly see that it is a human in make up, and it looks good but then the reveal was so disappointing to me.
Well ok, if you say so but I can tell you now, that I have been involved in creature design for 6years now.
I design and apply prosthetics and it is well documented that CGI is way more expensive. I have never worked with CGI so I have no idea why it is, but it is, maybe its the pain staking hours it takes.
Trust me, I design prosthetics for a living, and they are cheap in comparison to CGI.
@Chris502 @The Fall of the Eleventh
But it is cheaper to use make up and prosthetics than it is to use CGI.
To be honest, I think this about movies also, why use crappy fake looking CGI, when you have a person in front of you that you can apply prosthetics and make up to.
The episode for me is a solid 8, however for me the CGI lets it down, much in the same way the Ice Warrior reveal did.
I really wish that Doctor Who, wouldn't use CGI for monster design's, especially given how great today's prosthetics and make up are. For example, Vastra looks way better than say the Ice warrior out of his armor, which to me was an odd decision considering that they are both reptilian races. They could have just used makeup in the same way they do with Vastra but just make it look like a different species. Which would have made sense as one is from Earth and the other from Mars, sort of Galactic cousins.

Ok, so I have just sat and watched it again. Minus the dreadful Dalek ship interior, which I must have blocked from my memory, it was that bad!. Apart from that and the Paradigm Daleks appearance, its not a bad story. The Ironside Daleks are cool and the space scenes are pretty amazing too.
