@BeejC I like that theory....

@supermoff @SonicTheHedgehogRules They definitely catered to the "fan-girls" a bit. I'm not just referring to this scene, but what Clara represented in general throughout the episode, ex - her interview(?) with Vastra... "Your dashing young gentleman friend... your boyfriend even...." It seemed to be pointed-ish in their general direction. Now don't get me wrong, it seemed like Clara was definitely representing several groups of skeptical fans. I just think that this scene had the "Tennent/Smith fangirls" in mind with the rest of the fans who hadn't quite warmed to him yet.

@Oncoming_Badger I approve of your approval of the Movie.

That's ok... I didn't want to watch it anyway....

Hmmmmmmmm... Let's see here...
(I'm going off the list they have set up...)
12 - Robot
11 - Time and the Rani
10 - The Twin Dilemma
9 - The Movie
8 - The Christmas Invasion
7 - Castrovalva
6 - Rose
5 - Spearhead from Space
4 - Deep Breath
3 - Power of the Daleks
2 - An Unearthly Child
1 - The Eleventh Hour
Just an FYI, there is no episode here that I don't like. Yes, I even like Time and the Rani... well... I was extremely entertained at the very least.
@Benvenfold I'll tell you what, I'll rate it at number 1.... Mostly, because it's my favorite, but partially for you as well.
@Ollie Walton Harrod @Elionu There's got to be more fans than just me who likes the Classics, RTD, and Moffat.

@The Exploding TARDIS is DELETED @Ollie Walton Harrod I'm going to be honest... there were probably other ways to phrase, "Go to the TARDIS wiki if you aren't capable of paying attention on your own" that would have sounded less like a personal attack.
@The Outer Space K9 Nope, I'm with you. I was really excited when they first came out.

@RhonDOH If they can handle black and white, Unearthly Child is REALLY good... like... surprisingly good. Tomb of the Cybermen is a good 2nd Doctor episode. Inferno for the 3rd Doctor episode. BeyondThePolice already brought up Genesis of the Daleks for the 4th Doctor. 5th, 6th, and 7th Doctors are more difficult, unless you are already into the classics. So generally speaking, start with the first four Doctors, and if they get hooked, let them work their way up from there.

@ChrisCreveling @DavidBlyth It's not the fact that you have an opinion that differs. It's the "Who the hell are you... Get rid of this garbage article." That I believe is what DavidBlyth was responding to. Once again, it's not what you say, it's how you say it. The person writing the article was trying to be as respectful as possible, and you responded... kinda viciously. Not the worst I've ever seen (not even close), but enough that it caught other people's attention.

@kilodalton I like the "straw man" approach. You would make an amazing politician.

@TottersLane She was shrill, and normally... I can't stand shrill. But, probably because there is such a shortage of them nowadays, I love optimistic characters, and I can't think of any other companion more optimistic than her.

@beskar @DeanAlexander Seriously... dude? What part of "don't be insulting to other fans, just because their opinion differs from yours" did you not understand?
@Planet of the Deaf You know... I think I might be the only person alive who actually liked Mel.
@MaraBackman @bluBob I'm not trying to defend them, I'm personally of the more anti-bully variety. Just pointing out that just about all sides of every Doctor Who argument ever has had its angry, sometimes downright vicious fans, defending their viewpoints...
No side is completely innocent on the bullying front.

@PK-S @Huknar @The Genie I'm going to go ahead and say that stopping your plans for world domination, and then repeatedly stopping all your future plans, while also stopping all your early attempts at getting a body, constitutes as a little more than a pinch on the arm.
@MaraBackman In all fairness, most people who lash out like that, aren't targeting the thoughtful and rather polite critiques of Moffat and his writing, most of the time they are targeted at those whose critiques can be downright mean-spirited complaints about him and what they believe he has done to the show. Not all the time, mind you... but most.
@Notsosmartguy the Superior Venom I don't know... after 8+ seasons of Supernatural... I think I'm done with relationships being tested.
5 months, 2 weeks ago on Capaldi on Track to Be “One of the best Doctors ever”
@ahunter8056 @bluBob@SirTreyIn fairness to Zoe... she didn't scream THAT often... and more often than not, she would wreck more than a few of the Doctor's enemies... with her brain. Hell, as often as she was screaming, she was chewing out the bad guys for their lack of intelligence.
6 months ago on Series 1-7 Face-Off Results: Everything Else (Episodes 1-8)
@ahunter8056 @SirTrey Whoa there friend... not all the classic companions were there to scream and be rescued. I think the Zoe and Ace fans would have something to say about that....
@Pertbaker34 While I don't agree with your least favorite episodes, I absolutely love the fact that you brought up the wide variety of Doctor Who fans. Because Doctor Who can be almost any genre it wants, vary rarely will you come across two fans who watch the show for the same reasons. One of my best friends loves the show for it's scary/creepy episodes, and finds himself rather disappointing by the more lighthearted ones. While another of my best friends is the exact opposite.

@Smaragdkek @DaireConstantineOReilly Whoa there Sunshine. NuWho isn't better... it's written for it's 21st century audience. Similarly, Classic Who was written for the audiences of it's time. I can almost guarantee you that kids 20 years from now will probably have similarly disparaging things to say NuWho, it doesn't make it true.

@DW_girl Probably still in the minority... but I really liked that episode as well. So, congratulations on having excellent taste.
@Polyphase @GaryKingston I really hope that Troughton of all Doctors would not be the one to think that the new ones were too childish. I could see Hartnell or Pertwee maybe, but not Troughton.

@YgorVale I'm kind of with you on that one. Anthony Ainley got to hang out with no less than 4 different Doctors, and that was something I enjoyed. Watching, not the way he acted/reacted around the Doctor, but how each one did around him.

8 months, 1 week ago on Best of Matt Smith: The Curse of the Black Spot
@theshipoftime @DrunkenDalekBut isn't it the show's ability to adapt and change direction that has allowed it to last as long as it has? Hell, half the point of the show is that it can change with changing audiences, to stay relevant. It's practically in it's DNA. Look at Star Trek, absolutely refused to change over the past 40 some odd years and it died a pretty horrible death and almost faded to obscurity until it adapted to new audiences.
8 months, 3 weeks ago on Series 8 Will Be Darker, More like Classic Who
@gwylock1 I don't know... I don't think that these have been that much goofier than the classics... I mean, look at Douglas Adam's episodes. They're considered some of the best of Classic Who, and they can get downright surreal with their goofiness sometimes. Almost Saturday morning cartoon level.
