IMO, Deep Breath was the best episode of series 8, and one of the best opening episodes of all time. It music was extravagant, the directing spectacular and the script superb! It gave us such a dark Doctor but still captured his essence. Clara's character took a step in the right direction and felt much more developed then some previous encounters. The cgi was top notch and the villain was both creepy and cool!

12/10, an instant classic!

What on earth is that damn Time Lord planning now?! Not much Doctor yet either, could this episode lack in the timelord himself!!? (probably not, but I still feel like he's going to be captured and Clara will have to save him)

So Clara finds it exciting? So is it a threat? It must be a planned thing or else Clara wouldn't react like that... I'm confused. Either way, I'm gonna tone down my hype for a while, can't let this get in the way of coursework

What a blessing, extra time for stories to develop! Yet what a curse of being hungover by cliffhangers and branching stories...

But we got missy in the first episode, so we got that going for us, which is nice

Doctor who movie? Why not... But why stay with a present story with the Doctor?

A dark, edgy spin off movie/story on the Time War! With only a cameo of the Doctor himself, we could focus on other time lords and their final days in this universe!

(What... I can dream for more time war if I want to)!

How about a movie with the Master! John sim regenerates into whoever, and they explore just what the Master is capable of. Maybe a master vs the time lords? To finish it off, we could even see the origins of missy!

There is one quote from the Christmas invasion that makes the entire regeneration make sense for me,

"I haven't seen everything yet, not with these eyes"

This makes me believe that whatever the Doctor did, he was exploring and discovering things for this incarnation. He saw his incarnation as somebody who would adventure till their last breath, helping where needed. When he said he didn't want to go, I felt it was because he still wanted to explore. He saw his incarnation as a strong favourite who could get anywhere, and to potentially lose this scared him.

He didn't want to go because he still wanted to explore more. This is my interpretation, make of it what you will, but the quote I used was said, so do take it into consideration....

@Calebxy The thing is, I relate to Clara the most out of practically all the companions. I even relate to the Doctor quite well. Even if she is doctor-ish, I see that kind of style in me as well. I know how to take control of situations around me to suit me best. I do my best to show my authority over people while keeping in my place when I need to. Normal life is kinda boring, I do things my way.

The way I see things is kinda like the Doctor too. I look at us humans and find us alien in many ways. the things we do and the reasons we do them confuse me. Maybe i'm just weird or maybe i'm the only awake on on the planet but either way, Doctor Who (series 8) was easy to relate to, and I find my way of life chillingly creepy and out of sync.

Osgood was perfect for a companion, it feels like a waste that she had to die, but still, her death is vital to cementing missy as a super villain! She's going to have to stay dead in order to make DiH a memorable episode (ignoring all the other cool scenes). Even if Osgood returned, she would feel out of place, we've mourned her, and she comes back? It would feel to awkward... I just hope we get a similar person as a companion in the future...

Out of all of the deaths this season, Osgood hit me the hardest, she would have made an amazing companion (and I can't think of a companion who has had some kind of illness or medical issue, making for an interesting relationship (and all that running! Not good).) The only other death I can think of that surprised me like that was Victorian Clara, as I thought that she would make another interesting companion... I'm also starting to notice a relationship between characters I like and the death count...

Am I the only one who felt that Kate should have died too? It would have been a tragic, unnecessary way to die and would really show that no matter who you are, the powers you have, the knowledge you posses or the villainous you are, nobody is safe from the master! Would however mean we probably would never have ended up with cyber-brig, so I've somehow split myself with my own opinion...

Maybe this is one of those alternative universe theories? Ar some point on one universe, Clara went bad but in another she was good? Now bad Clara is trying to take over good Clara's universe by using cybermen? And to complete the trilogy, missy is another older Clara from another universe? Or you know, something is going on (Clara could just be bad, the TARDIS never liked Clara for a reason, cause she is bad?)

It's all about perspective. Re-watch the entire series while focusing on the Doctor and you will see he gets enough screen time. If you focus on Clara, your gonna get Clara. As Clara is a more relatable character then the Doctor (and more attractive), she gets alot of attention (gets pushed into your mind). This causes you to notice her more and causes people to complain over nothing. But I'm glad there's lots of complaints, it shows people are interested in Clara's character and not glossing over her like she was nothing important (cause I find her to be wonderful company for the time lord). Then again, its also annoying to hear that she's too important, because nobody is too important. As I said before, it's perspective that you need to change, not the show.

Trenzalore is a little like the time war, we know it was horrible and one of the worst things ever, to the point where the Doctor was scared for life, but we've heard/seen so little that we just have to imagine it. We did get a trenzalore montage so we got that going for us, which is nice...

This episode would have been amazing as a 2 parter. Maybe just hordes of information and the general build up in the first part. It could have the cliffhanger at where the Doctor falls onto the train tracks. It would have left the audiance in suspense on how he could have escaped. The second part would simply be Clara and co trying to escape the underground while surviving against the boneless. It could have really horrified the audiance as they would be in dark, cold, cramped tunnels where 3D beings could jump out the walls at any moment. Just another example of how Doctor Who is a show built for 2 parters.

You know, after that dilemma, I would love a Doctor Who episode that finished on a cliffhanger in which humanity had to make a choice. And then a poll would occur about the dilemma. The wining side is then actually used in the episode! So for the lights on/off poll, the majority said the creature would live. So in the next episode the creature would be showen to survive.

If that would ever happen, it would a major event for not only Doctor Who but TV itself! It would be extremely cool!

Maybe it was sudden expansion, maybe it was pulled from space time, maybe it was always there (just hidden with space Dragon magic). Expand your mind beyond your human concepts and then you can get the slightest glimpse at a small fraction of the ever-changing universe
