@Huknar @Amy is Hannibal Vashta Nerada anywhere, really. A great monster many people want to see again.
2 weeks, 6 days ago on Are the Big Enemies Being Overused?
@Amy is Hannibal I'm gonna break up this reply with numbered points since this current comments system isn't very paragraph-friendly. 1) River does say she had some TARDIS-flying lessons from the Doctor in "The Pandorica Opens". 2) I also think "Bad Night" and "Good Night" have to go between "Day of the Moon" and "The Rebel Flesh" because Amy and Rory take no particular interest in River being right outside the TARDIS. 3) I think placing "Rain Gods" between "The Rings of Akhaten" and "Cold War" makes the most sense. The Doctor is definitely between visits with Clara between those two episodes. It really can't fit between "The Bells of Saint John" and "The Rings of Akhaten" because one episode leads directly into the next. The lack of waistcoat in "Rain Gods" means nothing, as the Doctor can vary his clothes as he likes, plus he went sans-waistcoat in "The Time of the Doctor". 3)I'd love Steven Moffat to give us a definitive River Song timeline that includes all of her appearances (except probably the intentionally ambiguous "Last Night" appearance).

I guess he just wants 2005 to remain his special and only time on the show, and that's fine with me.
2 months, 3 weeks ago on Moffat on Why Hurt to Eccleston Regeneration Was So Short
@The Oracle™ I agree. Although he was self-loathing about something that did happen. The Doctor didn't just miss his home planet, he was ashamed that he had his hand on a button that would kill his people, including his own family, and he was 100% definitely ready to go through with it without further question. Although he kept the offending incarnation a secret from others, the Doctor had to live with that part of himself and still does. It's just that now he knows he has swooped in to correct his past self, and that makes things better. Plus, he still killed many people during the centuries-long war. That still happened.

@PaddyB According to rumors: Originally, the Weeping Angels grabbed the Doctor's leg and tried to immobilize him by turning it to stone. He got a wooden one soon after. The part of him getting his leg turned to stone and the part where it's shown he has a wooden leg were both cut. The wooden leg was supposedly written in to explain why Smith was limping (he had an injury in real life), and the Doctor's older age was already a good explanation for that, so it was cut.

While this one gets a lot of criticism for things that were likely the result of a poor translation of Gaiman's story from script to screen, the final act is very well done. From when Clara and the Doctor meet at the castle until the episode's end, everything's very, very good. First two thirds: 6/10. Final third 9/10. Overall 7/10 for me.

The premise had a lot of potential. Thompson's script did not live up to half of it. It ends with the Van Balaan brothers' character development being rewritten, but the payoff (being nicer to their brother) somehow remaining. @Pockydon I'm assuming you're speaking for yourself? Asylum of the Daleks is generally well-loved by the fandom.
@Liana21 Not likely because Episodes 3 and 4 have different directors.
@Type40Charlie I think The Beast Below was the last non-arc episode he did (besides a couple Christmas specials). I was about to suggest Episode 4 may be non-arc, but it seems to be Danny Pink's first appearance, so it maybe somewhat arc-y, at least.
@SonicTheHedgehogRules Not expecting to change your opinion, but I'd like to point out that the technology you aren't happy with in The Rings of Akhaten had already featured in previous episodes.
Artificial gravity was previously used in The Time of Angels/Flesh and Stone and Let's Kill Hitler.
An air shell in space was previously used in The Satan Pit, Smith and Jones, The Beast Below, The Time of Angels, and every scene where the TARDIS doors are open in space.
The rings are around a gaseous planet, and the sun the planet orbits is off in the distance (never actually shown on screen).
As for the sonic screwdriver holding the door open, it is explained and demonstrated that the doors of Akhaten, like the culture of the planet, use sound and music to function. The doors operate with "acoustic tumblers", opening and closing to certain sound frequencies like Merry hitting a certain vocal note or the sonic screwdriver producing a certain frequency of sound. The sonic screwdriver using sound to interact with objects specifically designed to be manipulated by sound waves isn't that ridiculous. I'm sure you're still not a fan of this episode, but maybe you can at least understand it a bit better.

It could work very well with the Star Wars model.
How about this: 36 levels. 3 levels based on each Doctor's era. Each level is its own adventure (either favorites from the show or brand new adventures for the game). First time through (Story Mode), you play with the TARDIS team from the appropriate era you're in. As you play Story Mode, you unlock new characters to use in Free Play. For free play, you play with a custom TARDIS team to unlock secrets you couldn't with the story-mode characters.
So, as mentioned above, you could have an Eleventh Doctor era level like this:
Story Mode: The Eleventh Doctor and Amy fighting the Silence.
Free Play: The Eighth Doctor and Sarah Jane fighting the Silence.

@WhovianAvenger What were the plot holes? I didn't notice any when I watched it.
8/10. Was a 7/10 for me when it first aired, but it's gotten better with age. Probably because the relaxed pace seemed slow after two fast-paced adventurous episodes. Looking back at the western on its own, it's very solid. I guess an episode really is affected by the episodes around it.
8/10 Spectacular. So much to love. Time travel used to bring three awesome, unique new friends for the Doctor and an extremely wicked villain, all played by a fantastic guest cast. Dinosaurs realized with some damn impressive CGI. Silurian cameo (less popular branch of the species, but whatevs). A spaceship powered by its own ocean. Tricey RIP. The character development for he Ponds and the Doctor, who shows both sides of his character here: going from a man excited about his Christmas list to a man straight-up killing a guy who's already been forced into submission. Plenty of fun all around. I find it tough to believe someone who says they didn't enjoy this at least a tiny bit. Only missed opportunity was an adult T-Rex. Maybe next time.

@Gallade Zero "Why does every female companion need someone to clutch onto?" Why does every male companion need someone to clutch onto? Every new series male companion has had a particular love interest (besides Jack or Strax, if you count him). Love interests make for interesting modern television regardless of what sex a character is. And, anyway, we don't even know if Danny will be Clara's love interest or just a friendly colleague.
4 months, 4 weeks ago on A Few Thoughts On Danny Pink
@Americanwhovian It was established very early in the episode that the Oswin Dalek could transmit just about anything in Oswin's memory to external devices. Oswin transmits opera music from Carmen as well as her human voice to the speakers in the Dalek Parliament. This happens again with the Dalek periscope on the asylum planet. The opera was more than just a little bit of humor, it was Steven Moffat cleverly showing as early as possible that Oswin was able to transmit various sounds, be it her old human voice or the voice of an opera singer. It's funny when you realize how obvious this is. A Dalek transmitting an opera singer's voice is unquestioned, but when it transmits Oswin's voice it's still questioned more than a year later.
