Rose is a great start to the new series. What I love about it is that it's told completly from the perspective of Rose herself, she's the main character and that makes the Doctor more of a mystery just like in An Unearthly Child when the story was told from the perspective of Ian and Barbara. This is something I want Doctor Who to go back to, I want Deep Breath and the rest of Series 8 to be told as Clara's story, the Doctor may be the hero but the companion is the main character.

My new series Dalek story rankings.

Dalek - 10/10: Love it, Christopher Eccleston is amazing.

Bad Wolf/The Parting of the Ways - 10/10: Incredible, the Daleks at their absolute best and Eccleston is sublime.

Army of Ghosts/Doomsday - 10/10: A fantastic finale.

Daleks in Manhattan/Evolution of the Daleks - 3/10: A mess, Series 3 should not have had a Dalek story.

The Stolen Earth/Journey's End - 6/10: Has it's moments but overall RTD's weakest finale.

Victory of the Daleks - 6/10: Pretty average but Matt Smith and Ian McNeice were brilliant.

Asylum of the Daleks - 7/10: A step in the right direction for the Daleks but it pales in comparison to the first three Dalek stories of the new series.

@ Notsosmartguy the dalek of Jersey Personally I thought Daleks in Manhattan/Evolution of the Daleks was utter tripe, however it did have arguably the best Daleks moment of the new series when Dalek Caan kills Solomon.

Well done Helen Raynor now that is how you write the Daleks.

@EchtNiemand @Mikeyboss182 I fail to see how Donna is even more cockey then Clara, pretty much everything Oswin said in Asylum was cockey and witty, both her and victorian were just a copy of Amy and River. Modern however is not cockey at all, my problem with her is that she's dull as dishwater.

Seriously from reading the comments on this site, Clara has got to be the most overrated companion ever. I don't get the love for her I really don't.

2 weeks, 3 days ago on Popular / Unpopular Opinion: Clara Oswald

I'm afraid as it stands right now Clara is my least favourite companion of New Who. I hated both Oswin and victorian Clara due to their cockey nature and (with the exception of The Rings of Akhaten) modern day Clara is... well and I thought Martha was pretty dull.

She is just so bland and nothing about her stands out to me, I think i'm also one of the only people who didn't think the chemistry between Matt and Jenna was all that great, especially when you compare it to the chemistry he had with Karan and Arthur.

I hoping my opinion on her with change in Series 8, I adore Clara's theme by the way it's my favourite of the companions themes. Hear's my list of favorite to least favourite female companions in New Who.

1. Donna

2. Amy

3. Martha

4. Rose

5. Clara

Ah that's a shame, I was kind of hopeing this would be an ongoing mystery throughout the 12th Doctor's era before finally coming to a head towards the end or in Capaldi's final story. Like the Silence arc only done better.

“For me, they’re back to Classic Who, or the mid-Tennant adventures, where you’d tell a story and move on to the next one, less tied up in the final machinations of long plot arcs.

The Doctor, the Widow and the Wardrobe - 4/10: The first half of this Christmas special is atually pretty good, it's when Cyril enters the forest that this story turns into a absolute snore fest.

Asylum of the Daleks - 6/10: A good start to Series 7. It looks amazing, the Oswin reveal was genius and Matt Smith is at the top of his game as the Doctor. However I was very disappointed by the lack of classic series Daleks and the Pond's divorce was one of the most stupid sub plots I have ever seen.

Dinosaurs on a Spaceship - 3/10: Oh I hate this one, nearly everything about it just irritates me, those stupid robots, the childish humor and just the lack of Dinosaur action. David Bradley was great though.

A Town Called Mercy - 7/10: This one I really like a lot, the moral dilemma just really appeals me and we got to see that darker side to the Eleventh Doctor. I do think the script is a bit messy though.

The Power of Three - 9/10: This is my favourite story from Series Pond It’s very funny (unlike Dinosaurs) and feels more like a story straight out the RTD era. It was also great to see UNIT again for the first time in ages and that scene between the Doctor and Amy at the Tower of London is my favourite scene between the two. The only problem is the ending which was a massive let-down, I think The Power of Three is a prime example of a story that needed to be a two-parter or at the very least sixty minutes long.

The Angles Take Manhattan - 8/10: I think to really enjoy this story I have to turn my brain off, there are just gaping plot holes all the way through it. But it is very entertaining, very sad and a good one for the Pond's to go out on and the last line of the story was just perfect.

The Snowmen - 6/10: This story is a mixed bag for me as it's kind of made up of good little moments, the Paternoster Gang were great (although the humour from Strax was hit and miss), the Sherlock Holmes gag was genius, the TARDIS reveal was awesome and the Doctor's arc throughout the story was very well done. The villains of this special however were lame, the Snowmen don't do anything and Richard E. Grant's performance is just well... bad, he didn't seem into it at all and that scene where he gets possessed by the GI is embarrassing, I'm also probably in the minority hear in that I found victorian Clara (like Oswin) incredibly annoying.

I think The Time of the Doctor is pretty good but It dose have it's problems I think the last 15 mins however is pretty much perfect. The Eleventh Doctor on the clock tower is now my absolute favourite Matt Smith moment and the regeneration scquence itself is really well done, it's not the best in the shows history (Eccleston's still holds that honer) but I can't think of a more perfect, more heroic way for my Doctor to go out.

Completly disagree with main focus on plot, not companion. In my opinion the last two series focused a lot more on the Doctor then the companions and they felt more plot driven then character driven epically in Series 7. In a way I want Series 8 to be all about Clara, we see the Doctor through her eyes, the Doctor's the hero but the companion is the main character, that how I prefer Doctor Who.

I personally like the Sonic Screwdriver and don't want them to permently get rid of it like they did in the 80's but I do agree it's become way overused of late especially in Series 7, so yes the writers need to buck up and start thinking of more clever and inventive ways to solve problems. Oh and give Capaldi is own one next season.

I really do like the tweaks to the TARDIS interior it looks so much more homely now with the new light ting. I loved Matt's second TARDIS when it was first revealed in The Snowmen but as 7B went on I started to get bored of it, I found it was too much like a generic alien spaceship.
