Love Doctor Who. Really love writing about Doctor Who!
This is going to be so great! Can't wait for all the flimsies to loose their minds over this Doctor!

if this is true, at least its something seriously intriguing!

The Master should come back. In a way, he's been the best-handled Classic villain. He's popped up, made a huge impact, but only been seen very rarely. It's well passed time he comes back! And like i've said before, it SHOULD be Ian McShane!!!

Not a bad theory at all. Definitely would be a great storyline. I'll buy it!

I consider myself one of the nice, respectful fans. I still think Moffat needs to get the boot...

So they're playing on the 1st Doctor story where the Doctor and his companions get shrunk down! Very cool!!!

Agreed! She needs a return. Capaldi would be a great choice for her to play off of as a father/daughter thing. I'd personally like to see her come back towards the end of Capaldi's run (several years from now!) and as they finally reconnect, he regenerations, and then she becomes a permanent companion for at least a full season!

I have always loved their pairing. I look at it like they went through some serious shit together, and then they went off to protect Earth together. Few people could possibly understand them as far as their experiences, what they know, and what they've done, so why not end up together? It's hilarious how having two dark-skinned people marry is somehow a bad thing... as if all TV and movie writers/producers must have "interracial" relationships to prove race doesn't matter. Maybe they just fell in love... it does happen!

Yeah this needs to happen! I don't care if it will "confuse" causal fans. Did Torchwood? Did the Sarah Jane Adventures? No, so stop. This is what Paul deserves, the fans deserve, and who the hell cares who deserves it? Just make it happen!

Matt feeling more than a twinge of regret? I'm all for multi-doctor stories, believe me. But it can't be all the time. Should have stayed Matt, you could have beaten Tom Baker and kept on going, and nobody would have complained!
3 months ago on Smith Eager for Another Multi-Doctor Story
I don't know why Moffat would recreate the same structure. In the long run it doesn't matter... but at what point are we going to get interesting companions? The arguments of "we need a human to identify with" are only valid superficially. The show is 50 years old. Time to get creative!

I'll bet that the two episodes done by a Continuum director are going to be the best of the season!!!

worried about how the "explanation" of two Capaldis will play out. If it's a really cool quirky thing ok, but if it somehow fundamentally shifts something important... not so much. We just had a bunch of that. The canon needs time to heal and move on.

I would love to see them return to a series of old adventures. I know, look forward and all, but it can't always be that. If it truly is a show about time travel than going into one's own past isn't unreasonable.

I love the idea of the Doctor being not so perfect being realized not in the destruction of his people (which we learn he didn't in fact do) but in their return. That would be the worse act, if everything we've come to know of the Time Lords is true. At some point he will be faced with the reality that the decision to bring them back, truly restore them, is more painful than when he destroyed them!

We haven't seen Jack in DW for a very long time now... He has to return to the Capaldi era. In fact, he and Gwen Cooper should be his companions for a whole season!!!!!

I hope it turns out to be the Jamie-type. I love the idea of companions outlasting other companions (and Doctors for that matter). And I think it's time for another companion besides "the pretty young thing".

not that it matters, but he explained absolutely nothing. Sometimes I worry that he actually thinks what he does makes sense...

Great article. I thought Children of Earth showed that Torchwood had even more potential than the previous seasons showed. I only wish it was used as a model for the show, and a platform on which it could be built into a truly remarkable, long-running series!

Something I've never understood is why everyone seems to assume that when the showrunner leaves, the Doctor MUST leave as well. What basis is there? because it happened once? I don't understand it. I hope Capaldi stays around for a while, and through Moffat's departure!!!

@shyx111 This is a great way of looking at it. Now, he can grow up, and what would that look like? He might not be the man we thought he was!
I really wouldn't like if they "explain" it. Too "breaking the 4th wall-ish".
6 months, 2 weeks ago on Some Theories on Capaldi’s Familiar Face
@RenoFarugiaIII I don't know if he could specifically infer which specific number they were. Perhaps at some point he could figure out that 11 came after 10, but not necessarily the exact numbers. He couldn't know if a future incarnation of himself lived for 10 minutes before regenerating.
6 months, 2 weeks ago on To Know Thine Self: What can or can’t the Doctor know about his future selves?
@the doctors name is bob @Amy the Consulting CommentatorHonestly, because I wrote this more as a stream of consciousness than anything else. It was never meant to be an in depth look at it. Sorry to not dig deeper!
@Amy the Consulting Commentator @MikeFalinosure, just don't see any real reason why it would be, other than the possibility of it. seems more likely a part of his story that it belongs to his kids he probably killed when he originally used the Moment!
6 months, 2 weeks ago on Who is the Doctor?
@YeshuaCharbonneau good theory!
@TheCapaldiMasterplan @MikeFalinoThe Doctor lies! I don't believe it for a second. It would be far less painful for him to just say it was his than to right then and there, let everyone know that it was his child's or Susan's.
Great article! My only issue is that people seem to assume the cot we saw was his. I never thought this. It doesn't make sense to me, and frankly, it's far less appealing a story.
Why would he carry his own cot around? Do you have your old cot or crib? Some might, in very rare instances. But who does? It's far more likely that it either belonged to his child (children?) or Susan. We know he is a grandfather, and therefore, a father. So why wouldn't it be more likely that the cot belonged to one of them? It explains the look he has when he sees it. Who looks fondly and wistfully at their own cot? That makes even less sense!
This is the episode that made me worry about Doctor Who under Moffat's direction. I've softened my dislike of it over time, but I still think it's just too much of a Moffat-bomb...
