I sure hope they aren't going to actually wrap up the whole "search for Gallifrey" arc by the end of next season. Moffat seemed to imply that it was going to be the Doctor's primary motivation for quite a long while.

Ultimately, I did think they had the perfect amount of Doctors in the episode. Between The Light at the End, the Destiny of the Doctor audios, those eBooks, and the Fiveish Doctors Reboot, I think the Classic Series got plenty of love for the 50th Anniversary.

The only thing that really bugged me was the actual Thirteen Doctors scene in TDOTD. I'm fine with them using stock footage for the physical appearance of the Classic Doctors, but I don't understand why they couldn't have asked Davison, McCoy, McGann, and the Bakers to record some new lines instead of just using archived audio (especially since they brought in an impressionist for Hartnell).

@Type40Charlie I'd rather not see them visit Sarah's grave, since I think the whole idea of the SJA ending is that while Liz Sladen may be dead, Sarah Jane Smith will live on forever. (And I think there was also a comic made recently where the Doctor stated she was still alive.)

Sounds like an interesting retrospective too. I have always thought of the Seventh Doctor's era as a sort of precursor to New Who, with the way the Doctor's dark and hidden nature was later echoed by Matt Smith's version, Ace having actual character development, and a lot of the monsters and situations they tackled would've fit in comfortably in the new series.

Perhaps, as long as it's a unique encounter, like maybe the TARDIS herself decides she has to take that form again in order to save the Doctor's life. And then along the way, she and Clara can finally settle their differences. That'd be interesting.

I'm going to give this one a 9. It was so great to see an Ice Warrior finally appear in Doctor Who again. I'm a sucker for "base under siege" stories, espcially when it's a submarine. Also, David Warner. You can NEVER go wrong with David Warner. Also, Clara has some really great "adjusting to the role of companion" moments in this one.

My only issue was when they showed Skaldak's face. I don't know, it just seems like one of those Doctor Who DON'Ts to me, is showing what's under an Ice Warrior's helmet. You just don't do it.

9/10. I really liked this one. It was a great introduction to Clara Prime, it had an enticing plot with an interesting villain, and a it had a lot of cool setpieces, like the Doctor needing to stop a plane from crashing and of course, the Doctor riding up the Shard in his antigrav bike.

Ignoring the big pink elephant in the room that is the Doctor's line about regenerating, I thought this was a great episode. Going back to River's roots and her past as Mels was interesting (even if the way they 'inserted' her into Amy and Rory's past raised more questions than it answered), and the Doctor was enjoyable to watch throughout.

The Tesseract is also a very fascinating concept, and, yeah... the Doctor meeting Hitler. The most awkward meeting in the universe, and Moffat somehow found a way to make it even MORE awkward. Definitely one of the better episodes he's written in his own era, 8/10.

@Jeremy Kyle Well... probably not with those colors, but with a new paint job or just keeping the Red and White ones, then yeah. Because I personally love the idea of a Dalek hierarchy.

5 months ago on Daleks Series 8 Rumours

A Dalek story with a new Doctor COULD be fresh. It all depends on how Capaldi's Doctor interacts with them compared to Smith. Since they're going for a darker Doctor, he'll probably be more hostile towards them, maybe even to near-Eccleston levels.

I still wish they'd give the Paradigm Daleks another shot instead of just keeping the Bronze Daleks for the rest of eternity.

I'd actually be wholly content if The Name of the Doctor really DOES remain as River's final appearance. It was a great away for her to bow out, and with her telling the Doctor to say goodbye as if they're going to see each other again... it just feels like it all came full-circle there.

But I also wouldn't mind too much if she did come back and meet the Twelfth Doctor.
