When I was young I used have a recurring dream/nightmare about being trapped in massive spider web and not being able to free myself ( i'm in Australia so not much imagination needed) and I would wake up terrified. It sounds like this might be scariest Doctor Who episode for me, I hope that nightmare doesn't return :o

“I’d love to see William Russell back in the show! You’d have to explain it enough so
that everyone would get it.”
I don't see why, Everyone knows who he is.
“There’s a tiny reference to that first year of Doctor Who in
‘The Caretaker’ which is the Coal Hill motto, on the wall of the
parent’s evening: “a great spirit of adventure”, which is what the
Doctor says about Ian and Barbara in ‘The Sensorites’. I thought that
was a nice nod in the background.”
Now definitely needed explaining to me but wasn't.

extremely out of character for the Doctor
In the Classic series he wasn't a fan of soldiers either but I think this time it's leading up to something important. There's more to Danny Pink than we know as we saw the Doctor pretend not to recognise Danny at all.
"Apart from losing The Master and the missile, you're doing very well, Brigadier." ~The Doctor

A great episode for so many reasons. I'm not usually a fan of the domestic side of Doctor Who but this one really did get the balance right. The acting was superb from not only the Doctor but but Danny and Courtney were both great. The thing I'm enjoying the most though is the Doctor and Clara's banter, Not only is it well written but the comic timing between the two is hilarious. Clara and Danny's relationship is also well thought out and seems much more realistic than with previous couples. I can forgive the episode it's rubbish monster as it's only a secondary plot device.
Deep Breath: 9/10
The Caretaker: 8.5/10
Time Heist: 7.5/10
Into the Dalek: 7/10
Robot of Sherwood: 6.5/10

the kids on The Sarah Jane Adventures are some of the most fully-realized characters in the Whoniverse.
I always thought that and found it a little disapointing but I seems to be changing for the better :) For someone as brilliant as the Doctor to not grasp that a former
soldier now teaches math is unrealistic,
It may have been if the Brigadier didn't do the same thing, It's probably just areference but I liked it:)
While several past incarnations of the Doctor
might have taken that passive-aggressive route – One, Four, Six, perhaps
– others, like Ten, would never have done that.
What about Colonal Mace? Ten was terrible to him
I feel that the Doctor knows Danny very well and all the banter is leading up to something important

I hoping I like it more than the review hints at but going by Gareths last few episodes I'm not over confident.
Capaldi’s constant jabs and outright prejudice against Danny due to his
past life as a soldier gets taken to uncomfortable levels
I don't like this idea much, I didn't like the way the Doctor teated Colonal mace in The Sontaran Stratagem. It's way beyond his character and doesn't make canonical sense.

@mlawesome Certainly not everyone, He's far from the worst writer for me but I don't think I've ever seen such high scores. It's great to see every writer has devoted fans :) I could easily sit down and watch all three of these episodes back to back
@LaraHarris Wow, This has been my favorite season so far and by a pretty long way. Peter is the quintessential Doctor for me :)
Great reviews, both of them. I think I relate to Davids slightly more. There's this though
but its security systems are surprisingly poor for the most secure bank in the universe
But I thought that's what the Teller was for, The ultimate security which is why they had to wipe their memories.
Its basic undoing is the fact that it tries to cram too much into the given time frame
This seems to be a common problem with the 45 minute episodes and I've noticed what a difference just an extra few minutes can make.
1 week ago on 2nd Opinion: Time Heist
Time Heist for me just edges out Journey. He's improving with every episode, Looking forward to his next installment :)
@Beasts_a_Snarling I didn't like the new CGI Cybermen, I felt they were just moving away from the scary humanoid into the dull robot. I also didn't like the automatic upgrades as it seems a step too far. Nothing much against the basic story.

I agree with some of your thoughts like the slow motion which was naff. The female characters dressed like naughty schoolmarms which is awfully like that naughty phrase that must not be used and Clara being reduced to the definition of stock companion character after everything that's come before. The similarity to Hide also confuses me a little but after all that I still like the episode :)

@TheNightmareChild wants a Skovox martini Maybe but I don't think there can be too many reviews. Everyone has a different point of view and I enjoy reading them all, Even if I don't entirely agree I always take something from them :)
Well written article and I can see your a fan:)
I like The Shakespeare Code, The Unicorn and the Wasp(Even though it's silly) and, Planet of the Dead isn't bad but The Lodger and Closing Time didn't do much for me. The humour wasn't really my thing, I guess the young audience may find it funny which is great. I can't wait to see how Peter translates this more childlike humour as he has been brilliant so far
Well i've watched it the obligatory 3 times now and I can finally give it a score. This has been the most difficult because I really like the episode and characters and the happy ending made a nice change but I wasn't a fan of the love story. The resolution for the monster was basically identical to Hide which I couldn't fathom and it just left me a little perplexed.
