It's interesting when you look at the moral of The Sorcerers Apprentice and apply it to Clara, Seems to fit her personality.

This lesson can be summarized by the saying, a little knowledge is a dangerous thing. The sorcerer's apprentice knew enough to cast a spell and animate the brooms, but didn't know enough to be able to control or stop what he had started. He had a little knowledge but not enough knowledge. Another way of putting this would be, if you don't know what you are doing, don't do it.

The Runaway Bride, No contest. That whole sword fighting scene in The Christmas Invasion just ruins that episode for me and the fact that it's Doctor lite :)

@Shane Michaels Zoe was, and she... wasn't very special.

She was a computer genius and even Sarah Jane screamed and twisted her ankle alot.

I'm hoping we don't get another young pretty girl companion. IMO the most interesting companion has been Donna and she doesn't fit that description. Maybe if not an Alien or past or future perhaps someone from another country like Africa etc.

Reply

@Rani Nose  If the Doctor doesn't think Time Lords switching genders is a big deal it implies that the viewer should also not treat it as a big deal.

After watching Dark Water again last night I thought it was a big deal for the Doctor. When she puts his hand on her chest to listen to her hearts he stands shocked and motionless for ages until Clara snaps him out of it. Even after feeling that she has 2 hearts he still refuses to believe in the possibility and she has to spell it out for him. He then stands there stunned in disbelief again. So the Master being a woman is a huge shock for the Doctor :)

@91 Queen of Evil You don't think it would have been better if she was less over the top/  Maybe more realistically evil instead of just totally insane like Simm

I would like to know what percentage of fans are female these days? Actually there should be a couple of polls along these lines as well as which female actors could be successful.

Commenting on his decision not to cast Peter Capaldi's Twelfth Doctor as a woman, Moffat said last year “It didn’t feel right to me, right now. I didn’t feel enough people wanted it [...] Oddly enough most people who said they were dead against it – and I know I’ll get into trouble for saying this – were women. [They were] saying, ‘No, no, don’t make him a woman!’”

One woman who did want the Doctor to be either gay, black or female was actor Helen Mirren, a comment Moffat mocked on 50th anniversary show Doctor Who Live with: "I like that Helen Mirren has been saying the next Doctor should be a woman. I would like to go on record and say that the Queen [in reference to her role in 2006 film The Queen] should be played by a man."

He is a Man of many varied opinions isn't he :)

Watched Dark Water again last night and It was great but I really don't like the way Michelle played the Master. Like she was channelling John Simm. If there is a female Doctor she would have to be someone outstanding and not young.

Obviously the Doctor will not travel alone. The Doctor has companions so that we have the story explained to us and it's been integral to the show from the beginning. For some reason they tried with David Tennant and it didn't work so he just had a different companion each episode

I don't know why this has been such a story for so long, If Jenna was leaving we would have had the endless rumours about the next companion. It 's like whole thing is just to distract us from something else, Anyway I guess I will just take what comes. If she stays great, If she goes great. A new companion is always exciting :)

why exactly the Brigadier’s Cyberman was immune to Danny’s command and didn’t fly into the sky at the same time as all the others did

Because he broke his programming just as Danny did, Which makes perfect sense in a Moffaty sort of way.
