Did somebody say 2-parter? This is great news, for the first time since 2011! we're getting a 2 parter that isn't part of a series finale. I'm really excited for this now. Come on Autumn!

I'd already given up hope for a Torchwood return. Please don't get my hopes up for nothing barrowman! Although I am super excited for these audio plays!

I'd just like to say that with all these interviews with Russell on Doctor Who at the moment, it takes me back to when David Tennant was denying involvment in the 50th and we were getting interviews /quotes from him almost as frequent as this. Just like to remind people of rule #1...

I think the fact that for the 10th anniversary we're on Series 9 is a reference in its self to Eccleston :P

@Planet of the Deaf Yes! and when she asks The Doctor to wear it he'd be like"You think I'd wear something as ridiculous as that?"
Maybe have subtle references within series 9. Stick Bad Wolf in the odd location. Have The Doctor reference 9: "what do mean my eyebrows are huge, you should have seen my ears!". Write a sequel tied in to a series 1 episode.Bring back a series 1 enemy like the Reapers, Sycorax or The Nanogenes Virus. Or even, BRING BACK CAPTAIN JACK!.. I think there are many ways the 10th anniversary can be celebrated without advertising it as another anniversary year> It will be only us whovians will be squealing when we notice the references :)
Peter deserves at least a nomination, one of the finest performances as The Doctor we've had in years. Slightly shocked and a little bit disappointed with this. Hopefully Doctor Who will win the Drama Award!

Does anyone know what fan work was included on Earth Conquest? I'm really interested on what they chose to include, it's so awesome!
Ive been sat here feeling exactly the same. I really don't know what my feelings are for the episode. For the first time since Moffat took over, I'm even starting to think we may need a new show runner, I'm a fan of Moffat most of the time but I think it's time for some fresh ideas.

@dgtwenty I remember I missed Rose and The Doctor Dances from Series 1 and didn't see them until the DVD release. Just shows how much TV has changed in such a small amount of time.

The first time moffat has wrote a one off episode since Silence in The Libary, no arcs, no special event, no seaon finale/opener, and wasnt it brilliant. I think we may have identified his issue...

Episode 1 - Hold your breath, Episode 2 - Dont hold your breath.... Is this somthing else we should pay attention to, or am i looking too much into it?
This scene reminds me of one of my favourite scenes with Rose and 9. Where The Doctor sends rose home but leaves her the emergency message. This little goodbye between doctor and companion before a regeneration just shows how much The Doctor cares about the companions. This scene between 11 and Clara was even better in my opinion, but its moment like these that really make doctor who special.

@stargazer0118 The only hint there is that this is a post-regeneration story, is when The Doctor looks in the mirror and says "Look at my ears!", which suggest it takes place just after The Day of The Doctor's Hurt regeneration. But then in the same episode, Clive shows Rose images of The 9th Doctor in many different locations and time zones which contradicts this and suggests The 9th Doctor has been traveling for a while since DOTD. Its a tricky one, and one I don't quite no the answer to myself.

@Regenerated Catterson I read it in 10's voice, then re-read the whole thing and heard 11. Its a very 'Doctory' quote. And I love it!
5 months, 2 weeks ago on Details on Series 8’s First Four Episodes
@TardisBoy I think with Prisoner Zero, he was trying to make the point that he didn't really care that much who he was, as it wasn't necessary for the story. The thing everyone was bothered about was the new Doctor, not the enemy. Therefore, what he's trying to say is, The enemy in Deep Breath will be just as important as Prisoner Zero in the grand scheme of things.
I laughed at the Robot of Sherwood quote, I love it when the Doctor gets proved wrong, His determination to prove that he is right is always a funny one.
Feels very cinematic, which is good considering I'll be watching it in the cinema! So Excited Now!

@Gustaff they normally go 3rd party for trailers like this, plus it doesn't sound very 'murray' to me.
If they did do it, Moffat would then have to explain why the doctor was dressed up as the traditional sherlock in 'The Snowmen'. Not that it bothers me that much, but i guarantee it will bother *a lot* of other fans.

So Vue is listing it as a 130 minute run time, but so far we have a 5 minute prequel, a 70 minute episode and a 10 minute documentary. So thats 85 minutes with 45 still to go... I wonder what they could add that lasts 45 minutes??... *cough* episode 2 *cough*
Thats another 23rd. 23rd of November, 23rd of August now 23rd of October!... It won't be long untill anything related to Doctor Who can only be released on the 23rd day of any

The Daleks actually seem creepy, scary, and not... overused, if that makes sense. They actually feel like they have a significant plot point, something meaningful, unlike the past few years. This series may be the best ever!
I hope this has a Sarah-Jane Adventures vibe to it. It's looking like it could which would be a lovely tribute to a woman and a show we dearly miss.

I was thinking it would be interesting if she played herself, the doctor takes a real life celebrity on a trip through time abd space, wouldnt that be good!
@Crask People have been complaining about a '5-8 episode half series' in a year for a very long time now and this year we are very lucky to return to the original format of 13 episodes, the first time for 3 years! Doctor Who has never gone over the 13 mark and has this has worked very well since its come back. I really don't see what your problem is, neither did I expect anyone to complain that 13 wasnt enough episodes after the amount content of the past few years.
8 months ago on Doctor Who Series 8 (2014): What We Know UPDATE
@TheOncomingHurricane @The Eternal Personally I'd place it around 40-50. Its not the best episode, but i still consider it a decent one in my opinion. I mean, are people forgetting Matt's speech, one that that may go down in history as an iconic moment for the 11th Doctor? Yeas the sonic screwdriver was used ridiculously at times, and yes there were some silly plot holes that may ruin the episode for some, but In no way is it one of the worst episodes of all time, it just isn't.

Really surprised about Rings of Akhaten, I would have imagined at least a top 100. Didnt think it was that underappreciated!
Thanks, but i think thats how the countermelody should work. It sounds a lot better to me and dosnt hinder the original theme
8 months, 1 week ago on Series 8 Confirmed for August, First Teaser Trailer
Well i gave it a go myself, im not one to plug myself but if you search my name 'James Jarvis' on youtube you can find my john hurt version.
I think the countermelody works, but would work even better if it was just a litttle more quiet which would then complement the main 'dum de dum' rhytmn.
I dont think matts first set was, im not sure how many 'degrees' it was. I was lucky enough to have a tour of thecurrent set and the woman who was running the tour did say this is the first full 360 set.
I highly doubt it, it took somthing like 3 months to build the current set, and its the first 360 Tardis set, which opens up a lot of filming oportunities that wernt there before. I expect it will be around for a while yet
After 9 years, they just expect it now :D
This appeared on my TV and I couldnt do anything but shout 'ITS DOCTOR WHO'... I must have said it at least 37 times!
