I agree with Helen Rayner, RTD, Rob Shearman, and Nicholas Briggs.  Even though I watched all of the Classic episodes, I never really paid attention to who wrote what.

I'm fine with these results, except the Series 3 finale should have been higher.

I started watching in 2013, which was during Matt Smith's time as the Doctor.  But I started watching with Tennant because he was the name I was the most familiar with due to so many of my college friends being fans of Doctor Who and the Tenth Doctor in particular for some.  I had only watched about four episodes, before one of said college friends bullied me into going back to Eccleston (and I'm glad she did).  Tennant is my Doctor because the stories in his era are among my favorites and his Doctor has engaged my interest the most.  I didn't start watching Classic Who until I had caught up on the Eleventh Doctor's episodes available at that time and the 1996 TV movie.  Tom Baker's Fourth Doctor really got me into Classic Who.

I would actually love this.  I always wanted a reunion between Jenny and the Doctor.  And it would be a nice nod to the father figure side of the Doctor from Classic Who.

My favorite season finale of Doctor Who is Series 3's "Utopia"/"The Sound of Drums"/"Last of the Time Lords".  However, the Series 1 and 4 finales are close behind it.

I think that Clara still has some story in her.  I have enjoyed Clara as a companion and would love to see more of her.

On the other hand, I would like to see something new for a New Who companion: someone not from present day London (from the past or future, maybe even a different country), a male companion (a primary companion, not the female companion's tag-a-long), an alien, a companion over the age of 30, and/or a person of color.  I would also like to see two companions traveling with the Doctor at the same time, who had no previous connections (ex. Jamie and Zoe, Nyssa and Tegan).

"The Stolen Earth"/"Journey's End" is my third favorite finale in Doctor Who.  I love the epicness of it, how it tied together the main show and its spin-offs, and all of the companions and allies of the Ninth and Tenth Doctors.  It is one of my favorite NuWho Dalek stories.  I loved the reintroduction to Davros.  Even though I do love Rose, the emphasis on her and her relationship to the Doctor takes up too much of the finale.  That and Donna's exit are my least favorite things about this finale.

Derek Jacobi was great as the Master and came the closest to a Classic Who Master.  I do like Simm and Gomez' Masters, but Jacobi wins this round.  Gomez is a close second.

Another incredible article and I agree with pretty much everything in it!  The Series 3 three-part finale is actually my favorite out of any of the New Who finales.  It has my favorite Doctor, my favorite female and male companions (Martha and Jack), and the Master.  Martha's farewell is perfect: she leaves on her terms, but you know she will be back.  She went through so much character development, in spite of being in Rose's shadow.  I do feel that "Utopia" and "The Sound of Drums" are the stronger episodes of the finale.  I hate the CGI mini-Doctor, which is one thing I don't like about the finale.

Yes, I think Courtney Woods is a companion.  But I also consider the Paternoster Gang, River Song, the Brigadier, Captain Yates, Sgt. Benton, Sara Kingdom, Lady Christina, Adelaide, Astrid, Jackson Lake (and his companion, Rosita), and Wilf as companions.

I disagree with you on "Partners in Crime" and "The Sontaran Stratagem"/"The Poison Sky".  I would have given them higher ratings.  I also disagree about the companions' families.  I like having their families on the show.  Their interactions with people other than the Doctor make them more interesting.  You learn more about a person that way, real or fictional.

"The Christmas Invasion" takes my vote.  It was David Tennant's first full appearance as the Tenth Doctor.  It has Rose, Mickey, Jackie and Harriet Jones.  It is one of my favorite Doctor Who Christmas specials.  Next up would be "The Runaway Bride, because it has Donna.

I think I'm going to choose "Last of the Time Lords" partly because we found out that Jack is the Face of Boe and Martha's exit.  Martha left on her own terms, wanting to be with her family after a year of hell.  She got out because her feelings weren't being reciprocated and she needed to move on.  But she wasn't going to let the Doctor just disappear from her life completely.  I also love that she left before something terrible happened to her (Rose getting stuck in the parallel universe in "Doomsday" and Donna losing her memory of the Doctor in "Journey's End").  My next three choices would be "Journey's End", "The Name of the Doctor", and "The Parting of the Ways" in that order.

It's so hard to choose between "The Sound of Drums" and "The Stolen Earth", as both Series 3 an 4 had epic finales.  My favorite Doctor and two of my favorite companions (Martha and Jack) are in both.  But "The Stolen Earth" also has Sarah Jane, Donna, Rose, Mickey, Jackie & Torchwood.  Ultimately, I'm going with "The Sound of Drums" because the Mr. Saxon is the Master revelation, John Simm's portrayal of the Master, and Martha's family.
