I enjoyed Flatline much more simply because the premise was so clever and its visual themes were OUTSTANDING! It's extremely creative and the monsters are some of the best I've ever seen. I also enjoyed the shrinking TARDIS- very funny but well-done!

Me too. In America, BBC America costs extra money, so it's easier just to view online.

I love how the 3D Boneless were actually people we'd seen die throughout the episode.

I think he means having the external dimensions shrunk. The inside stayed the same size, but the outside shrank.

I also especially loved the Escher-ish scenes where Clara realized something had turned 2D: the doorknob (dang, that was a cool shot!), #22... When the camera turned, it was very exhilarating. I'm sure they got inspiration from those chalk drawings that change depending on your perspective! I love illusions like this, and they were used EXCEPTIONALLY well this episode!

I feel the complete opposite! This is the first time ever I've been so utterly engaged in the show and excited about what's going to happen next week. Series 8 is, by far, my favorite series in years.
Exceeded my expectations by a mile! The villains were SO clever- Jamie is a genius! I really hope he comes back for series 9!

That's actually a really good idea! It's like a defense system: the planet realizes there is a threat and does what it can to protect humanity.

Yes! I bought the most recent magazine, and Frank said that he got inspiration from Red Riding Hood and other fairy tales that take place in dark forests. Very exciting!
I've always wondered what would happen if the Doctor found out he was the star of a show. What if aliens are following the Doctor and Clara and are filming every move they make- but every time they learn of this show, they forget?
At first, this was my least anticipated episode... But I'm actually extremely excited for this!! I've always loved the idea of field trips gone wrong... Frank is an absolutely amazing writer, so I have complete faith he will deliver!
What if "green" and "toasty" are describing the tiger?

2DIS is the 2D version of the TARDIS?

I think the creature turns 3D, as we see from the giant hand grabbing one of the men.

Does anyone have any guesses on what 3W stands for?

9. I think Clara will stay at LEAST through Christmas. Danny, on the other hand... I can't see him surviving the finale.
I think the large amount of oxygen will be addressed. In Foxes' music video, you see people in white suits in a forest. They shoot out a burst of fire (presumably to burn down the trees), but the fire explodes into a large wall of flame (probably due to the oxygen).
I think he will deliver! A finally proper-scary Cybermen story? Awesome!

Not looking forward to this at all because this wonderful series will have come to an end. :(

Maybe you should have some faith in Moffat instead of complaining so much. Whenever I see you comment, I think, "uh oh, he's whining about the Cybermen." You haven't even seen the episode yet.
I guess I worded that wrong, because I agree. I simply meant that I didn't like her in School Reunion.

Is there actually an argument over this?
Please, don't be immature. This is seriously embarrassing.

I used to really dislike Rose. However, apart from School Reunion, she's actually a very realistic and well-developed character! I liked her return in Day, but I do agree: she has to stop coming back sometime.
If all New Who companions came back for, say, the 10th anniversary of the revival, that would be awesome! But for now, I think Rose's story has come to an end.

It'll be so interesting to see Clara truly on her own for the first time!

They actually addressed the phone call, saying that it was just a trick to lure the Doctor onto the train- just as I suspected! I'm also very curious as to who Gus really is.
1 week, 3 days ago on Rate & Discuss Mummy on the Orient Express
It was surprisingly very good! I thought the entire "lab on a train" seemed kind of strange, but it ended up working well.
I especially loved the Foretold, because it's another "magic" creature like the Empty Child and Weeping Angels. Even though they can be explained by science, they seem fantastical and surreal, which is what makes them so awesome. A soldier that can never die? That's such a clever idea!
8.7/10, so I'll round up to a 9!
8/10 is still a very respectable score! I'm very excited for this episode, as I feel it revolves around a very interesting idea...
DWTV, what did you think of the Next Time trailer for Flatline?
1 week, 6 days ago on Mummy on the Orient Express Advance Review
I agree more with John. If you don't obsess over the "faulty science," it's actually a very engaging episode with multiple layers that really make you think. I actually enjoyed the abortion parallel; it added more to Clara's character and even further demonstrated the love she has for children. Overall, I think it was an amazing episode- not as scary as promised, but I still love it to death!

Yes, please! This would make the show even more widespread, and I believe he could play a great character! Make it happen!

Really? How are they connected?
If a crossover happens, Karen Gillan better make an appearance as Nebula...
What do you British people think about having an American Doctor? For it? Against it?
Ugh! Why so many impossible polls?!
I think they were both right- the Doctor knew he should not meddle with Earth's future, but he did it in a way that left Clara feeling hurt and abandoned.

Great article! I very honestly believe that Series 8 has been the best series of New Who, with no widely-accepted duds. How often can you say that?! Everyone working on Doctor Who has done an AMAZING job, and I would like to thank them all for all the work they've done to make this show the best it can be!

Congrats on getting your article published!! I saw you comment a few days ago that you were working on it, and it's very well written and clear to follow!
The points you made are really convincing, and I agree with you on almost everything you said. I'm actually really hoping the Doctor learns to accept soldiers through being around Danny. This could make for some very interesting character development!

Courtney is such a loud, obnoxious student that it was actually really surprising to see that Ellis is a really nice person!
"What wasn’t done so well was Clara’s attempt at explaining it as a play, it felt a little derisory and patronising towards Danny. If it was done for humour it wasn’t very funny as there were much better jokes within the scene such as Danny think the Doctor was Clara’s dad."
Really? That was one of my favorite parts of the episode! "A secret play! Shh-shh shhhh!" I couldn't stop laughing! Clara's such an amazing actress!
3 weeks, 2 days ago on 12 Great Moments From The Caretaker
I thought The Caretaker would be my least favorite episode. As it turns out, I absolutely LOVE it. Probably my second favorite episode of series 8 and, just because series 8 is SO good, one of my favorite episodes of all time. The writing is absolutely amazing; it nailed Danny's meeting with the Doctor... and that scene where Clara pretends everything is a play is probably one of my favorite scenes ever! I couldn't stop laughing! "Shh-shh shh!!"
The direction was also OUTSTANDING- possibly even the best of New Who! The opening scenes and different angles are just a few examples. I previously was not a fan of Roberts, but now I REALLY, REALLY want to see him return next series.
The next half of series 8 looks (impossibly) even better than the first half, so I honestly think I will love every second of it. Bring it on!!
