"For me, they’re back to the mid-Tennant adventures, where you’d tell a story and move on to the next one, less tied up in the final machinations of long plot arcs. "

Well that's certainly a shame. Series 3 and 4 had some good episodes but overall were the worst seasons in the show's history.

So The War Doctor fought in the war for four hundred years which confirms my theory that The Doctor simply stopped counting his age in this incarnation. In reality he is 400 years older than he said he was in his Ninth Incarnation.

@davidbrummy @jackwho007 Everything in Doctor Who is canon. It's a show that embraces alternate universes so everything can be canon in one way or another.

Despite being cobbled together, The War Doctor's TARDIS really does suit him. It's functional and suits his more down to business personality. Whereas The Eighth was an exuberant flashy man, The War Doctor was quieter and more rigged. It fits him being solder to have something functional. I would argue the roundels represent The Doctor subconsciously acknowledging that he is still The Doctor. It's a reminder of his past and a testament to who he really is.

@Amy is Hannibal The Amy and Rory thing is what bothers me the most. Moffat could have written in some lines where they ask The Doctor where he was during Miracle Day and explain it as being a fixed point in time. That or explain it as being erased by the cracks in time.

I don't know why he didn't mention it. He referenced Jack Harkness in Day of The Doctor and was planning on bringing him back in Series 6.

@doctorwhomultiverse Casual viewers don't count. If you don't watch every week the you don't matter. If TV catered to casual viewers there would be no TV. Every TV show would have to explain everything all over again every week if casual viewers were the concern.

The show needs to be whimisical yet with a sinister undertone like Alice in Wonderland or Willy Wonka. None of the kid friendly nonsense where nobody ever really dies Adults are the audience, not children. Also not being afraid to show gore would be nice. It never shied away from it in the past so it shouldn't today.

@gunslinger19 @Huknar Why would anyone care about casual viewers? That's not how TV works. The BBC cares about the audience it has every week, not the audience who only watches every now and then. If TV producers cared about casual viewers, Doctor Who wouldn't exist because it would have to explain The Doctor to new viewers every single week.

You give nothing but positive scores for every episode. Honestly I don't think you should be writing these things if you are unable to examine the episodes from a critical perspective. Not every episode is great or wonderful. There's no point to these articles if you can't examine the episodes critically. There are bad episodes.

@The Genie I too have noticed that he is super positive about everything. Honestly though, I don't think he should be writing these if he can't examine the episodes critically. Especially not after his ridiculous remarks in December. It was the last of his 50th Anniversary articles and the remark was about people who supported the idea of a female doctor.

@TheBiPunishment Once the Third Doctor's stories were released on Home Video, the general fan opinion of Pertwee's era went up significantly. For years he was unfavorably compared to Tom Baker and was ranked as one of the worst Doctors. I'm glad people reassessed his era as it was great. Now if only people would finally reassess Tom Baker's era and realize it wasn't the best period in the show's history, I'd be happy.

That's because the role was largely Eccleston's. Moffat wrote the script with a Eccleston, Tennant, and Smith. That line was probably written for him and not Tennant.

Eh, would rather have something like an animated movie. A PG-13 animated film starring John Hurt as The War Doctor would be awesome. Too bad the BBC is too cheap to do it. Don't know why. Warner Bros. has had great success with the DC Animated films and the BBC's got a property with an equally big universe.

My favorites are:

1. The Visitation

2. Resurrection of the Daleks

3. Warriors of the Deep

4. The Five Doctors

5. The King's Demons

Despite it's obvious low production values, Warriors of The Deep is still a very good story. The King's Demons on the other hand is an inconsequential story with a silly plot but it's still enjoyable.
