@LeftCoastFan @Gustaff that is why COE is so brilliant. It has both emotional and physical consequences.

I think Arrow did the best version of this scenario when Dr Ivan put a
gun to Shado and Sara's head and told Oliver to choose who to save. One
was his love interest and the other his best friend you could say. Since
neither were strangers and you could say BOTH were like his family, it
was an impossible choice to make.

@Malohkeh, not a member of any acronyms @Gustaff I wouldn't say impulsive. I mean they waited out an hour and gathered up all the opinions of planet earth before she decided that they were wrong and she was right. She did what she wanted.
That;s why i mentioned the part about being a hypocrite. The argument she used to defend her actions don't make sense unless there were no babies on earth at the time of the choice which we know isn't the case.
2 days, 21 hours ago on Doctor Who’s Impossible Choices and the Trolley Problem
If it meant I'd kill millions of babies if I didn't, then yes, I would. That's what the trolley problem is about and logically it makes more sense to me to save as many as I can if I can't save everyone.
now change the problem to make the space baby my kin and the problem becomes much much harder. Fortunately, Clara didn't have that problem.
All these examples are great except for Kill The Moon which magically fixed everything to remove the danger after Clara decided to let millions of babies on earth die in order to save one moon baby.
I guess in that light, it sorta makes her a bog hypocrite when u rewatch the argument she user to justify her actions.
in all the other examples, there were casualties or most definitely would've been as acknowledge by both sides. Fires still win top spot in my book.

I agree. She's nice enough, but not enough to join the TARDIS team.

Great article. I don't like Sarah as a companion because all of her 4th Doctor stories I've seen paint her as this co-dependent, damsel in distress as you pointed out. Almost every story she is captured, hypnotized or used in some manner against the Doctor. This is like a generic companion who happened to start out as a strong feminist. Perhaps she improved in her own series, but I could never see what all the hype was about with her when she traveled with the Fourth Doctor.
I adore Leela as what she lacked in intellect, she made up for in strength. She was the muscle, the Doctor the brains.
Love Romana as she was basically just a female Doctor, but both Tamm and Lalla played her so well that I couldn't care less. She is a joy to watch and her next incarnation Juliet is no exception.
I liked Adric when he was traveling with 4. The two looked like they had a really good time together. Keeper of Traken is one of my favorite stories.

@ilyootha @Gustaff Slight correction. Seems the math is still correct, but there are 51 statues on the ground floor, meaning Roku is 177th, Aang is 178th and Korra is 179th.
@MetamorphmagusWho Now you just need to watch the other 100+ episodes.
For those Avatar fans interested, Korra is the 178th Avatar since the
cycle began. The amount taken from calculating the statues in the
'Southern Air Temple' episode. In the Avatar statue room, there are 7
ascending rows containing 18 statues on each level (7x18=126) plus a
further 50 statues at floor level giving a grand total of 176 previous
We know this number is true because the cycle has
4 phases and ends with Earth. Korra is a water bender, which means the
cycle is 3/4 done. Therefore, the whole thing has been repeated 44 times
(44x4=176), making Aang the 177th and Korra the 178th.
average, an Avatar lives (10000/178) about 56 years, though Avatars like
Aang (lived for 166 years) and Kyosi (lived for 230 years) skew the
On an unrelated note, according to IMDB.com Top 250 Shows of all time decided through votes, Avatar The Last Airbender (12th, 92 457 votes) is ranked higher than Doctor Who (45th, 120 267 votes). Of course Sherlock (6th, 350 089 votes) is ranked higher than both of them, but whose counting?

@Malohkeh, not a member of any acronyms to bad the company doesn't see it that way. I agree, Avatar can just reinvent and reincarnate itself every couple of seasons, but Nick is too busy putting s*** on their channel.

@supermoff @Gustaff thank you good sir. You win the gold star for mathematical excellence. Why we don't just give you something more valuable is beyond me though.
The Astronaut 2-parter will go down in history as one of the best 2-parters EVER! We actually got to see the Doctor killed within the first 10 minutes of airing. That is the definition of showstopper.

Plus...for the love of god can we please have Ian Chesterton make a cameo in S9? I mean if you're going to keep filming at Coal Hill, at least give the fans a little fanservice.
@MrRazza is going all Craig Revel Horwood @Wonky Apples what about Alex MacQueen or don't you listen to audios?

In this follow-up, Missy will create her own Daleks and present them to the Doctor as a Christmas present.
@Clara Laurinda @Gustaff my personal rating:
Dark Eyes 3 was better for me because I love the Alex MacQueen Master and DE3 is basically a 4 hour long showdown between the two of them.
In terms of stories, DE2 contained 3/4 that I really really loved while DE3 contained 3/4 as well, but again...MacQueen brings it home.

Not sure. Ask me anything about the audios and I'll give u a timeline, but I am useless when it comes to comics.

Must confess my knowledge of the comics is very very limited. Not much of a comic book fan.
Ten won't remember. Timelines. Also, 11 probably hasn't met Clara yet. Not sure about where in his timeline this takes place.
It would've been cool seeing Donna and the Ponds again.

@TheBiPunishment I dig the lunatic fringe Master more than the 'bananas' Master. At least Simm's Master had a reason for doing stuff. And his plans actually made sense in a Mastery sort of way. Whenever someone points out the uselessness of Gomez's Master's action, people reply: "So, it's because she's crazy."
Wow. To me that's like answering a question with 'Time War' as the begin all/end all of continuity errors. Doing stuff just because you're crazy and ending all your motives with that is boring. Simm's Master had the drumming finally driving him over the edge. He's so annoyed by the drumming, he's irritated by how he looks. He has this vampiric hunger that never goes away. His own body is rejecting him. He is truly cursed.
If anyone has reason to be insane, it's him.

@ilyootha @Gustaff @Malohkeh, not a member of any acronyms we all want that. All of us except the BBC.
@Malohkeh, not a member of any acronyms I can only imagine the references we're going to get. There will be loads, but stealthy because of the New Who license thing. Kinda like Dark Eyes I think.
I must say, I'm not a big fan of either Osgood or Kate, but I'm excited for this box set. Just don't give me another New Adventures of Bernice Summerfield.
@Malohkeh, not a member of any acronyms I kinda liked it. It was average, but the multi-Doctor thing really boosted it for me.
@Malohkeh, not a member of any acronyms I suspect they'll set this one pre-Death in Heaven so that they can bring back Osgood mostly because she and Kate are Those Two Girls.
I'd like Malcolm to come back.
Also, how epic would it be if MacQueen's Master turned up?
Now we need them to do a New Who version of Sirens of Time featuring 9, 10 and 11.
...a guy can hope.
@Scribey @Gustaff that be a nice book end for the character, but we need Anson back as well then.
@Scribey Brig - 70s (or 80s), Bambera - 90s, Emily - 00s, Kate - 2010s,
we need a crossover with the Counter Measures team. Kate vs Gilmore!
@The_Eternal_Dalek @Gustaff not according to half the fandom. Apparently the 8th Doctor never regenerated, Mel never met the Doctor and Ace never left. So many inconsistencies.

@Clara Bosswald loves A-Force Ladies. @Gustaff @Malohkeh, not a member of any acronyms A Deus Ex Machina is when some new event, character, ability, or
object solves a seemingly unsolvable problem in a sudden, unexpected
way.Since Maevh never showed the ability to appear people out of
thin air, and she managed to solve the missing sister issue (unsolvable
problem) with something as unexpected as a phone call, yes, it is. I
know the definition and usage of the word.
Incidentally, Time Heist, one of my fav this season, uses Deus Ex Machinas the whole episode through:
There is a bank that holds the universe's most valuable treasures, and
as security the bank has an alien that can sense guilt (and killing
those who are guilty of trying to break into the bank). In order for The
Doctor and his group to succeed, they had to wipe their memories after
planning the heist, so if they are caught they won't be guilty because
they literally have no idea how they are going to do it and what it is
they are looking for up until the point they find it. As such, the
entire heist is a series of deus ex machinas, one after another, of plot
devices that they planted before their memories were wiped.
@Malohkeh, not a member of any acronyms @Gustaff not to that degree surely. I mean they treated solar flares correctly in past stories, why change it now?
Even the basic premise is flawed. Even if we accept the whole 'fiery' solar flare, enriching the atmosphere with oxygen is the last thing anyone
should do to prevent a fire. Removing oxygen would be much more
efficient (but of course, that way all animal life would choke instead
of burn to death).
@Supermoff, member of CATS @Malohkeh, not a member of any acronyms @Gustaff It has internal consistency, but not external or genre consistency. And I mean genre as in within the usual pseudo-science aspect of Doctor Who,
@ Inverted Notsosmartguy @Gustaff @Malohkeh, not a member of any acronyms obviously. How could I have missed that thing that they've been referring and building up the whole episode? Stupid Gustaff. STUPID!
