Bonus 1: "in the silence and the cold I saw the worlds burning"

I believe its time we got an explanation for how Skaro is still around. I mean it's obvious that the TV movie scene takes place between a pre-Remembrance Skaro and a post-Remembrance Doctor (time travel duh), but we need a verbal, tv canon explanation for how it's back after being destroyed. To settle all conflicting fan theories, we need someone to physically say: "Skaro was [insert explanation here]".
PS: I'm aware there is the fake Skaro exploding explanation, but some fans only accept tv as canon.

I liked it. Don't know why other people hate it. It's just a freaking OP. Fast forward through it if it upsets you. Half the stuff I watch have lame openings, but are so badass in content. That is what's most important after all.
Ps: i personally ff through most OPs no matter what I watch.

Overreacting a bit. Its just two at this stage. In our defense, the guy laughing is really loud. It isn't just complaining.
2 days, 19 hours ago on Watch the Deep Breath Cinema “Prequel”
That would be awesome. The other side of the coin, I want to enjoy the thing both visually as well as audibly
This is exactly why I would never watch doctor who in the cinema. Bad enough i laugh and have to pause to stop, but i cant imagine hearing anything over everybody else finding a scene funny that isnt. There is also the case of people not stopping. They just keep laughing even well after the scene is done. Annoying. Justified if it id comedy movie since they usually have a beat or pause taking into account fans laughing.
Agree about the laugh. Guy needs to shut up. Show some consideration for people who are stealing in the cinema. Damnit. It takes balls to try this.
So much for cinema piracy. I don't care in this instance. The BBC have failed the fans who didn't see it in the cinemas. FAILED US!
Also, dwtv, you're freaking me out. I was wondering when the prequel was going to go out like an hour ago.
I will concede that the change happened instantly and wouldve been a bit of shock, but clara seemed to make up her mind from the very start.
2 days, 20 hours ago on 2nd Opinion: Deep Breath
Odd example I know, but childhood friends I run into after not seeing them for like a decade don't react like Clara did when they notice how much I've changed
Reactions I've already gotten:
"Gustaff, you got even TALLER! Are you kidding me? (laughs)"
"Gustaff, when did you become such a gym junkie?"
Reactions I don't get:
"Gustaff, I get that you have no control over your height, but maybe we should just catch up later (never calls back)"
"Gustaff, I liked you better when I was the only one in the group who worked out."
Simple examples I know, but think about it... My present self is radically different than me from 10 years ago. Some of my friendships come from being 12-13 and are still there. In DW, the change is physical with the change in face, but hey, we don't insult people who get work done if you know what I mean...well not to their faces anyway.
I used to be naive and optimistic about everything, now I'm a realist who's careful and aware that the world has dangers. I used to put things off till the last minute, now I plan like crazy for every situation - even those that haven't occurred yet/unlikely to occur. I want to be one step ahead. I sound very different, but most of my friendships are still there. My friends didn't decide they liked me better before. Some are still just as lazy as I was, but we don't care.
Ah! David! You have such a wonderful way with words. it's so nice reading two reviews from two people with radically different styles, both so wonderful. This was a treat to read. From me to both of you: Good Job!
Agree about Clara, not so much on Strax. I like him and I liked the magical water bucket disappearing scene so much!
And basically anyone who took offense last night at the comments...
hope you're all feeling better today. I was out partying last night so I
missed the whole homophobic spectacle going on on this site, but just
now reading the comments (both here and on the article [yikes!]), I'm
glad I did this early yesterday morning to blow off some steam.
you're still in the dumps or want a good hard laugh at the homophobic

@Clara Laurinda @Gustaff I don't know. Part of why I'm asking.
3 days, 18 hours ago on Deep Breath Review
@G_Unitt She didn't have much empathy for the fact that he just spent 900 years fighting a war. Never even took that into consideration. Imagining that all that fighting wouldn't have some effect on him is unrealistic.
3 days, 19 hours ago on Deep Breath Review
Know what's really weird: Nobody seemed to mention the 900 year war that the Doctor just finished fighting. Either as a defense for his new more vicious personality or some help tool to ease things a bit.
Fighting for 900 years is sure to harden anyone. Hell, most get shellshcok or PTSD from 1-5. I didn't expect the Doctor to turn into a wimp. How he turned out is what I imagined someone who's just had to fight another bloody war.

@TheNightmareChild is LISTENing! @ Notsosmartguy the dalek of Jersey @Gustaff Since the prospect of changing faces isn't new, it might as well be. She's seen Captain Grumpy (who is very old) and Sandshoes (handsome), and didn't have a problem talking to them. She even complimented and helped War.
It's like River Song saying I don't fancy this face.
@TheNightmareChild is LISTENing! @Gustaff The sentence 'will you help me' indicated to me that 12 was indeed asking her to help him. It's wasn't subtle, he outright asked her. She also didn't give a reason for declining, just apologizing which seems to imply she is still judging him on his face.
Also, the whole point of the phone scene was to get Clara to accept this new Doctor.
@sontaran17 @The Administrator @Mark McCullough Is that the 'bucket' challenge I keep hearing about?
3 days, 20 hours ago on Conversation @ http://www.doctorwhotv.co.uk/discusswho/062014/
@TheNightmareChild is LISTENing! It's weird eh? Vasta was making good points, calling Clara out on real stuff - winning the argument basically - and then like I don't know, gives up or in. No idea what happened there. It should've ended with Clara saying something like: "I'm sorry. I didn't mean it like that. You're right. It's just hard for me to take in right now."
She copped to that, I would've been pro-Clara for the whole episode.
Well, 12 asked her to help him and she refused. Only talking to eleven changed her mind. if that hadn't happened, she would've left 12 to his own devices. It's like when someone asks you for a favor and you decline because [insert reason] and then offers you something you want/need and you go 'sure, I'd love to help'.
That's how I saw that scene. You don't help someone because someone else convinced you to do it, you do it because you want to help them. You want to help them solve their problem and make them happy. Clara refused the first time because it just wasn't the same. Speaks loads about her personality.
I agree that she gained some character during this episode. Too bad it's a character archetype that doesn't sit well with my morality.
PS: Is GeoCities good or bad? Pardon my randomness.
He pushed him. This is the darker Doctor people wanted. Doesn't get darker than murder.

@doctorwhotvuk Plus, I'm betting Half-Faced Man confronts him in the finale and reveals to Clara he pushed him, causing her to draw the final line. That whole "You betrayed what i stand for" quote from somewhere.

@doctorwhotvuk Same here. It's Doctor Who. It's back for another season. Try to enjoy it.
@ThePaternosterGangAreAwesome My headcanon is he pushed him out of desperation. As for abandoning Clara - he came back. On being rude to people - every fan was expecting a mild, PG Malcolm Tucker, so why complain. It's also very Doc 9.
@doctorwhotvuk So first the Doctor was too childish and silly, now he's TOO dark and edgy. There's just no pleasing people.
@The Finn Me too lol!
5 days, 16 hours ago on Conversation @ http://www.doctorwhotv.co.uk/discusswho/062014/
@doctorwhotvuk @Gustaff No intention of asking you to force them. That's just not cricket. Like David said below me...maybe make them aware of the disadvantages. Some will certainly be a little more open. No. You can't force people to do something.
Although, that is why I'm not doing features during series 8. At least not for the time being. Too busy.
@The Genie @Gustaff I agree with that also. Not everything should be announced, but right now, very very few are. Perhaps a 50/50 compromise.
@supermoff @Gustaff Exactamondo!

Hey DWTV, can I ask a favor?
I've noticed that unlike before, people just seem to be writing articles willy nilly nowadays. Not that that's bad or anything, but the Feature Article page was set up so that other authors would know exactly what's going on and who's writing what.
I've seen a few people comment that they've written a similar article because they didn't know the first had already done it. Could you maybe do a post or something instructing writers to use the page to announce what they're up to. Just to avoid mix ups like these.
Take for example your week and all the article pile-up. I think if we the authors had a better idea of just how many on-topic articles was going out, we'd slow down a bit. Right now, it feels like we're wasting the page by not using it for the purpose it was created for. I myself is guilty of that.
5 days, 17 hours ago on Conversation @ http://www.doctorwhotv.co.uk/discusswho/062014/
@supermoff It was a sore topic for discussion last year with people shouting and screaming 'Moffat is just leaving it hanging in the air/never resolves his stories"
Cue to 2014 - a throwaway line has now become the new arc.
@ Notsosmartguy the dalek of Jersey @supermoff @Huknar At the start, it feels very weird, but then slides back into classic Who.
5 days, 18 hours ago on 12 Great Moments From Deep Breath
@Huknar @Gustaff Regardless of Clara's speech, studies show that at the threat of being maimed (cut off a finger or something like that), 91% of people will cave. Given how she seems to value perfection in her Clara World, the thought of losing a limb would be like a death sentence I believe. Half-Faced Man should've tried going for a finger. She would've caved.
@supermoff @Huknar People will complain about it - just because a fan helped with it. I like it. The theme tune I'm still deciding, but because I'm wondering if it's good or great. Nothing below that.
@Banannam In fiction, especially in military dramas, being killed by an opponent is considered disgraceful. It's more honorable to die than be killed. That's what Strax was thinking.
When I first watched it, Clara came off as very
rude/condescending/ageist in her conversation with Vasta. "How dare
you?" She calls Vasta out on being judgmental, yet she suffers from this
and hypocrisy at the same time. All humans on some level judge
impurities like deafness or race or even age.
how ignorant she is later on when she boats that despite her pretty
face, she is not so easily distracted...cue "When did you stop wearing
"I've never had any interest in any pretty
young men..." The Truth Field on Trenzalore begs to differ. Note she
said ANY, so even saying she fancies him a bit is enough to be counted.
Jenna's performance was 10/10, but Clara's was less than that.
@TheOncomingSnow @Gustaff @TardisBoy Us and over references only we get lol!
Likewise, I had it pointed out on one of my audio articles that I was the first person to include a soundcloud in an article. Also proud of that.

@Amy says Peter Davison is the Thirteenth Doctor! For some reason, my first comment didn't go through. Just to be clear, I did not contribute every trope listed. I did contribute a couple, but Trope TV is a fan site as well and a bunch of us do our best to list all the available tropes. It's a team effort. I am happy you enjoy it.

@TheOncomingSnow @Gustaff @TardisBoy I did indeed. I also wrote the Future Diaries one. Both are instant classics. You'll really enjoy both. I agree, we're getting off topic. If you need anymore recommendations, you can check out my reviews over on my site.
@Amy says Peter Davison is the Thirteenth Doctor! To be clear, I did not do all the tropes listed. Lots of fans contribute. You're right that you may be reading what I wrote, but just be sure to remember that it's not just me.
PS: Happy you're enjoying it. As some of the people here will tell you, I'm a bit of a trope nut. You might've seen me Trope-out as well.
@TheOncomingSnow @Gustaff @TardisBoy Always refreshing to find an anime fan who is also into Doctor Who,. Love it! You should try Railgun and Another.
Sorry about the spoiler. It's not just this fandom that has trouble with them.
@TheOncomingSnow @Gustaff @TardisBoy Awesome! Our friendship has just now leveled up!
@TheOncomingSnow @Gustaff @TardisBoy Hey! You know the anime lingo! Well, that version sounds nice too...for a completely different reason though.
@TheOncomingSnow @Gustaff @TardisBoy Yaoi is a preference, not sexuality. A squick one to me (I'm heterosexual), but however one wants to interpret the scene. To me, it sounded a lot like two men going at it.
@TheOncomingSnow @Gustaff @TardisBoy Good luck to your headcanon then. We all have our fetishes. At least now I know one of Clara's - even if she consciously doesn't.
@TheOncomingSnow @Gustaff @TardisBoy Considering he seems to think of both men and women as just men, I don't think so.
@DrOswald @sontaran17 It was CPR you could say.
