@Mister Obvious @Vickroy I was with the movie for awhile. I thought they were doing a great job, but by the time it got to battle scene after battle scene after battle scene, I had enough. It really got dull. And a couple of times in the Zod versus Superman fight scene, the effects looked pretty hokey.
@Willie Nillie I thought it had some much potential Willie. But after all his struggling with being an alien and an outcast. He got over the Zod murder so quickly or so it appears, no struggling with that. Maybe it will be used in the sequels. I really think that Superman fans would love a movie just about Krypton and keep Superman out of it all together.
@CozmikKen Ken calls it. How can a movie have that much action and still make you wish it was over? Had such great hopes when it started, I thought they did Krypton wonderfully. Even the little touches like Krypton's destroyed moon. But by the time, Superman was fighting giant robot tentacles, I had it. Enough. It was like Snyder and Nolan got together and said - is there anything we're missing? Oh yes, giantic robotic tentacles. Plus, so many things that went against Superman tradition. More spoilers here. At the end, he tells a general that he's from Kansas!? Secret identities mean nothing in these movies. Plus, he kills General Zod? And seemed to get over it pretty quickly.
@mascan42 @yashar_o Blame the new President of Iran., those are his thoughts about hunger and access to food in that country. Inflation is insane there. Goods can't be brought in. His campaign was run on the fact that he wants to get the country out of economic turmoil. Maybe this guy is the answer to Iran's problems. That's if the supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei lets him have any real power. Or is that just throwing out another stereotype, that the Guardian Council, has the real power in the country?
@yashar_o It was Iran's own new President who campaigned on the fact that Ahmadinejad caused the sanctions that have food prices and inflation to be at record highs. This is one of the things he promised, to work with the rest of the world so Iranians could have and afford basic needs.
@cal5000 @Fez Whatley It's sad Cal, these films don't have be crapfests
Because I hate it when they have a perfectly laid out plot from the comic book and water it down for films. Heath Ledger was great, but I still wish his character was dropped in acid.
@cal5000 @Fez Whatley To add another dimension to these movies
@cigarsNscotch I agree. Let's raise everything to 21. If "18" year olds are apparently not to be trusted with simple decisions like this. Let's make everything 21 including combat.
This takes away a major personality point from Tony Stark. It's like taking the "watched his parents be murdered" aspect from a Batman movie
I'm just surprised we haven't had any of the religious hardcores calling this God's vengeance yet, like with every hurricane the gays apparently cause.
No trouble from the FCC over Ortiz, the Bono "f-bomb" a few years ago didn't get a fine, and CBS dodged a fine for the so-called "Janet Jackson Super Bow wardrobe malfunction". Looks like the all powerful FCC isn't nearly as scary anymore.
@CountFagula @Fez Whatley Yeah, of course the big differences are that, first of all the Girl Scouts don't have any anti-gay (or lesbian) restrictions that I'm aware of. They even let a transgender kid join last year. Also, the girl scouts have a lot more corporate funding, where as the boy scouts are backed up by religious groups.
@CountFagula @Fez Whatley If you're asking should the girl scouts have male scout leaders? I understand people would have problems with that, but that should be a problem with men in general, not just gays. It's saying men can't be trusted at all. But with the scouts' new gay policy, it's like saying Muslim kids can be in, but once they become adults they can't be leaders because all Muslims grow up to terrorists. It's ridiculous. One thing that really drives me nuts about this is that it's not a policy of inclusion at all, it's what can they put up with, so that they don't lose funding money.
@CountFagula @Fez Whatley You don't get to have it both ways. A ped is someone who attacks children. The relationship I want that you keep talking about, isn't all about the sexual stuff at all and it's certainly not about having one with a child. But if you could talk about this without getting personal, don't you think the Scouts are being insane by saying a scout that turns 18 is out of the group and can't be part of something they grew up with anymore?
@CountFagula @Fez Whatley I don't think liking young women is going to change for Chris or ESD as they get older. Maybe I'm just hetero stereotyping
@K Dubya I agree K. What is it? The cool uniform. I was in cub scouts and it was the dullest thing ever. And if you are gay and want to be a scout leader, it's not like you're going to find a support system of actual friends there.
@CountFagula @Fez WhatleyIf you remember the show, everyone in the room picked ages lower than what I said. Where's the shock and outrage there? And you're the one thinking about Jonah Bobo as an example. So, who's the creep here?
So the deal is that a gay kid can join the scouts, earn all the badges or whatever they do for achievement and then cannot take that experience and continue this "proud tradition" by becoming a scout leader. As soon as he's an adult then he turns into a monster. This is actually more offensive than their previous policy.
I think he's just making the point that the universe doesn't have to be the work of an all powerful being doing a science experiment. To just leave it leave to that sounds kind of primitive. There's no problem in looking for other ways the universe came to be other than the 7 day theory.
