Andrew, thank you for the transparency. I am activated now, I'm in, up and running and in process of building my vision - big legacy project - on DMS. I have to tell you that I am inspired and so THRILLED with DMS. I could not be happier. It is fabulous!!!! I Thank you so much for all the hard work you and your team have put forth to create and deliver what I believe is the best thing to come along in web development in a long time. Happy, inspired, amazed, wow-ed, awed, thrilled!

@MikeJohnson Have you downloaded the free version of DMS? If you can install it into a sandbox and take it for a spin it may help clear up some of the confusion.
1 year, 4 months ago on Your DMS awaits.
@hungltmed You will be able to use the old Pagelines Framework
@tjwalsh The store will be up and running again soon. The Pagelines team is working on it. Thanks for your patience.
@Invisioning you will be able to use the old framework.
Your observations are very wise. I am being very sincere here. Your comment is the kind of valuable insight that I am calling for here. The irony is, we are saying the same thing - we are just going at it a different way. We are both basically saying why give energy and attention to the haters? We are on the same page M14.
1 year, 5 months ago on What competitors think about DMS
So what do you think about Andrew's post?
if you don't want to moderate then perhaps have someone periodically sweep the comments and delete the flames and off topics...
Nick, you all have a right to delete flamer comments. It's standard protocal as it's just simply disruptive to the intentions of the post. it interferes with valuable dialogue.
Hey guys, what you got here are a buncha silly trolls. The thing to do is to ignore them - they get their cookies off from the attention - and all they are doing is just adding noise to the conversation - it's junk -they are harmless - what they have to say doesn't add much value to the conversation that Andrew started here. I know it's a pain in the a but the thing to do is to moderate the comments. . I am happy to help with that. A lot of what's being said here, is not really on topic. The question Andrew posed here was about ethics/ stealing ideas/corporate espionage and that warrants a lively and valuable discussion. Anything else that doesn't pertain to that is OFF TOPIC. Could we all please stick with the topic of this thread?
The product is open source - so as soon as it's released it's gonna be fair game. There may be copy cats... The problem here is that James "pretended" to be interested in a distribution deal, when in essence he just wanted an early jump on copying the product. I suppose you can't blame James for that - as Andrew points out that seems to be the way the game is played, at least for some - BUT since his true motives were exposed publicly he should expect to get some criticism for it. James is great to his customers - I are one too - but i have grown tired hearing stories like this about his dealings with competitors. Sign me, a customer of both companies
Working with Matt Zito's via his" Inner Circle" strategic
advisory, consulting and coaching service has been without a doubt the
best investment I have made in my travel start up business
to date - so much so that I can't even imagine trying to build my
start up from the ground up without his invaluable support and
expertise. Believe me, what Matt offers goes well beyond traditional
consultancy - it's akin to having a wise and seasoned strategic
business partner on your tream. His extensive background, wealth of
knowledge and many years of experience in the travel industry has
already compressed so much time for me and has helped me avoid so many
mistakes. He is a brilliant and practical idea man. He understands all
facets of the travel industry and he stays on top of emerging trends.
Matt attends conferences, he networks on behalf of his clients, and he
keeps abreast of what is going on in the industry. He is a powerful
net-worker and connector. His support has been very practical, specific
and measurable across all aspects of my start up - be it helping me
brainstorm great ideas, implementing practical strategies and
solutions, drafting the perfect letter to contacts, finding the right
technologies, making referrals to new contacts in the industry - and
so much more - whatever is needed, Matt is right there - he thoroughly
and completely over-delivers. I highly recommend Matt Zito's Inner
Circle strategic advisory, consulting and coaching services to anyone
who is starting a new travel venture or who wants to take an existing
one to the next level.

@EnteGratoI did not change the background with CSS. I made a background and uploaded it to the Beardwell image folder inside cpanel. If you need further explanation I am happy to assist.

@enteGrato, I can explain how to easily change the background. I am using Beardwell for this site:
take a look - different background.
Very excited about the transition options. Major thanks!

ok, i am giving away my trade secrets :) but I i used Banner Snack. Bannersnack.com. It is not a Photoshop by any means but it just so happens that i know how to get things done fast with that program. You create a small b/g and then insert your image and then you will see an option that says "colorize". Select #ffffff (white)...Make sure sure you keep the opacity at 100%. save. if you want the background transparent you are going to have to strip that out in another program. I can tell you where to go for that as well. last step upload to the appropriate modern images folder in cpanel. If you need any additional help or clarification just ping me.

Hi Adam - Modern is indeed a beautiful theme - I really, really love it. I am using it for a private sales travel site - and it really lends itself well to that concept. I have changed the headers and footers to white and added a gray linen textured b/g. The site is really looking good - it's very elegant. Just a couple of feature suggestions. It would be great if you could put the Pagelines Sitewide Background loader option back in - that would make it a whole lot easier to use patterned b/g's - which really looks good with this theme. And it is especially good in situation where the designer is handing off the site to non-techies after the build. The wonderful wave and zigzag headers just pop with the patterned background. Second thought - would love to see a light option for headers and footers - love the grunge gray - but a white footer/header option would be super cool. Thanks so much for the great work you do in extending Pagelines themes, sections and plugins. Really nice work Adam!

Nick is there a way to change the site b/g image on Beardwell?
2 years ago on Beardwell
@pross Why thank you Simon!
hmmm...this might be a dumb ?...but anyhoo.. jigoshop documentation says if i want to make template changes I should create a folder called jigoship and drag it into my theme folder - OR i can make changes with hooks. Is there any chance the plugin is useful for this hooking business with jigoshop. It scans all Pagelines sections and plugins but not the integrations?

@Gayatriom are you a plus member? if so, it's free - in that case all you have to do is download the plugin and you're good to go.
2 years ago on Superfade
Too uncanny! I spent all week-end looking for exactly something like this plugin. I wanted full width, ten image option, and the ability to control timing and transition. So happy! Thanks Adam.
Feature suggestion: I love this slider. Really do. Love that it's full width and that it is so light and simple. I really like not having to make a bunch of choices - some of the sliders out there...i have no idea what all that "stuff" is - they are overboard. Anyhoo, Wicker is so easy to set up - really plug n play - and that's super. With that being said, i would like to be able to slow the transition down just a tad - so please consider adding an option in the future to set the timing. Would be great if there were just a few choices like a fade option would be nice....but still like it simple - Otherwise really wonderful section - thanks so much for the good work you do Nickers.

Hi Simon. This sounds intriguing. Can you show some screenshots of the drop down?
@nphaskins Thanks - i am loving the theme. Gonna install it on a couple of more sites. It's really slick - sophisticated theme - really like it.
icon positioning. yep. it's featured branding alright. i fixed it. thanks! Author Plus is still status quo though. I haven't updated PL 2.3 yet - waiting on the dust to settle a bit - do you think the author plus issue could be related to the fact that I haven't updated Frameworks yet?
2 years, 2 months ago on Beardwell
@nphaskins my bad. i neglected to disable all non-pagelines plugins before the update - anyway, disabled all non PL plugins, re- installed 2.3 without a hitch- it's all good now. no white screen, sites are running fine. sorry for the bother!
2 years, 2 months ago on Tenacious T
Hey Nickers - I have issues. I have already emailed you about this and know you are a busy guy - but just want to stay on the radar. Since last night's update to 3.3 i have two broken sites. During the update the TT sites rolled to white screen. I have rolled back to 2.1 and the sites are running, albeit on now outdated code. So i would really love some help in getting the latest version of the theme up and running, when you can get to me. Thanks!
actually the twitter button that is displaying in authors plus isnt working either - the click takes you to a 404 page.
Hey Nick - digging the Beardwell Theme! Got a few minors though:
Can't move the social media icons positioning ( in the header). Trying to do it the usual way - from inside Pagelines settings/Headers and Footers but the numerical changes - to move buttons up or down - are not sticking. Likewise, the social media buttons in Authors Plus won't display even though the links have been entered and the selections are ticked. Twitter button is the only one that will stick.
oh nick how cool!!!! Big Big BIG smile.

Hi Nick - Sorry for writing here, but the email address that is listed hre is bouncing. I need some guidance. Tenacious has been broken since the 3.4 update. I have been using it at http://gulfcoastrising.net/featured-news/
See latest notes from Hostgator:
We have updated the theme for http://gulfcoastrising.net/featured-news/ to the default twentyeleven theme, and the page does come up successfully. We are also able to visit the wp-admin dashboard for the site as well. We only changed the database entries, and did not delete any files, and yet the Tenacious T theme does not appear in the themes list for the site. We do still see the files in the filesystem. The installation may have been corrupted in some way, and is not registering with Wordpress.
Since then, I have gone into cpanel and renamed the folder to "old_tenacious-t," and activated PL base child theme for the time being but/and not sure what to do now. Simon told me to reinstall the theme. However, when I log into Pagelines launch pad, I do see Tenacious T listed as one of my products but there is no link there for me to grab a fresh download. Please advise, Thanks!

@AleksanderHansson uh uh. didn't work for me. couldn't get rid of the excerpts on the front page with the css rules you suggested. Have you seen how the sharebar works? There is an option at the bottom of the social networks list that allows you to append the buttons to the meta bar - and in theory that works for post titles only - it inserts the buttons under the post title - where the meta info is...except that the buttons were unruly - all over the map - and not neat. So thinking if you could create that - a way to append to the metabar - same way the sharebar functions, this would work. except that the buttons really need to be tight and lean and neat. I can send you a screenshot if you want to see what i mean about the unruly buttons - they would linebreak to the next line and there were big gaps between the rows - it just looked random and unruly. . It just didn't look good - in fact, looked like hell! Truly I may be the only person that needs this function so please don't twist yourself in a pretzel over this. Most people aren't just posting post titles to the front page! Thank you so much for being supportive - you give great customer service!
2 years, 8 months ago on Social Excerpts
@AleksanderHansson awesome. let me try it and i will report back!
@AleksanderHansson alright. I am understanding about the button size. you have no control over that. I got rid of excerpts by unticking the boxes under pagelines settings, "blogs and posts".
Post Excerpt or Summary Handling Where should the theme use post excerpts when showing full column posts?
i just unticked those options..
I have a regional portal and this particular site is an aggregated news site within the portal - it's live streaming headlines only. But there are other sites in the portal where i do show post titles AND excerpts. so either way I am sure I can put your plugin to good use.
i installed and then activated and set the options in pagelines settings - unless there is something else that I am supposed to do ...buttons aren't displaying with post titles only. doesn't work. (for those looking on i am not using excerpts only post titles and i knew going in it was a risk..anyway, Aleksander If you do make a provision for this in the next update, if possible would like the option to set above or below the post titles. and since I am asking for the moon, if possible it would be great if we could have an option to set button size - because I did try sharebar - you know the regular sharebar plugin?...and i set it to post in the meta section under the post titles. and it was a disaster! it looked way too busy. so if i could have the option to put some tiny little buttons under front blog page post titles- that would make my year.
@AleksanderHansson ok. sounds good. we got a deal!
oops typo - pinterest...see no provision with Livefyre for correcting mistakes. oh well..
Hi Ya. I too would like to know if the plugin is usable on the blog page with loopstack enabled. I am using loopstack and I am just posting headlines - NO excerpts.
will it work?
Good job Aleksander and DO not cave to the pressure to lower the price of this plugin! :) . $9.99 is fair value for the work IMHO.
Plus One for Pininterest. I gotta have Pininterest!
This section is very promising and I am committed to supporting its ongoing development. Before you created "Looks Like T" I was actually trying to figure out how I was going to offer a Tumblr Experience to my users - I have very big plans for this capability. I have a regional community portal - U.S. Gulf Coast - And as we speak I am trying to work out how to give folks front end posting capability. I think it's going to happen with the help of Formidable Pro forms - that form plugin allows for front end posting and editing - I don't want to anybody to have to go into the back end or have to set up a site with an admin panel - anyway...I will keep you posted on what's happening on my end (no pun intended) but just want you to know that I really, really excited about what the possibilities this section opens up - It's going to form the basis of my whole community user generated experience.
