Andrew, thank you for the transparency. I am activated now, I'm in, up and running and in process of building my vision - big legacy project - on DMS. I have to tell you that I am inspired and so THRILLED with DMS. I could not be happier. It is fabulous!!!! I Thank you so much for all the hard work you and your team have put forth to create and deliver what I believe is the best thing to come along in web development in a long time. Happy, inspired, amazed, wow-ed, awed, thrilled!

@MikeJohnson Have you downloaded the free version of DMS? If you can install it into a sandbox and take it for a spin it may help clear up some of the confusion.

@hungltmed You will be able to use the old Pagelines Framework
@tjwalsh The store will be up and running again soon. The Pagelines team is working on it. Thanks for your patience.
@Invisioning you will be able to use the old framework.
Here is a link to get some basic questions answered.

you'll see the order, click it, there is your key
Your observations are very wise. I am being very sincere here. Your comment is the kind of valuable insight that I am calling for here. The irony is, we are saying the same thing - we are just going at it a different way. We are both basically saying why give energy and attention to the haters? We are on the same page M14.

So what do you think about Andrew's post?
if you don't want to moderate then perhaps have someone periodically sweep the comments and delete the flames and off topics...
Nick, you all have a right to delete flamer comments. It's standard protocal as it's just simply disruptive to the intentions of the post. it interferes with valuable dialogue.
Hey guys, what you got here are a buncha silly trolls. The thing to do is to ignore them - they get their cookies off from the attention - and all they are doing is just adding noise to the conversation - it's junk -they are harmless - what they have to say doesn't add much value to the conversation that Andrew started here. I know it's a pain in the a but the thing to do is to moderate the comments. . I am happy to help with that. A lot of what's being said here, is not really on topic. The question Andrew posed here was about ethics/ stealing ideas/corporate espionage and that warrants a lively and valuable discussion. Anything else that doesn't pertain to that is OFF TOPIC. Could we all please stick with the topic of this thread?
The product is open source - so as soon as it's released it's gonna be fair game. There may be copy cats... The problem here is that James "pretended" to be interested in a distribution deal, when in essence he just wanted an early jump on copying the product. I suppose you can't blame James for that - as Andrew points out that seems to be the way the game is played, at least for some - BUT since his true motives were exposed publicly he should expect to get some criticism for it. James is great to his customers - I are one too - but i have grown tired hearing stories like this about his dealings with competitors. Sign me, a customer of both companies
Working with Matt Zito's via his" Inner Circle" strategic
advisory, consulting and coaching service has been without a doubt the
best investment I have made in my travel start up business
to date - so much so that I can't even imagine trying to build my
start up from the ground up without his invaluable support and
expertise. Believe me, what Matt offers goes well beyond traditional
consultancy - it's akin to having a wise and seasoned strategic
business partner on your tream. His extensive background, wealth of
knowledge and many years of experience in the travel industry has
already compressed so much time for me and has helped me avoid so many
mistakes. He is a brilliant and practical idea man. He understands all
facets of the travel industry and he stays on top of emerging trends.
Matt attends conferences, he networks on behalf of his clients, and he
keeps abreast of what is going on in the industry. He is a powerful
net-worker and connector. His support has been very practical, specific
and measurable across all aspects of my start up - be it helping me
brainstorm great ideas, implementing practical strategies and
solutions, drafting the perfect letter to contacts, finding the right
technologies, making referrals to new contacts in the industry - and
so much more - whatever is needed, Matt is right there - he thoroughly
and completely over-delivers. I highly recommend Matt Zito's Inner
Circle strategic advisory, consulting and coaching services to anyone
who is starting a new travel venture or who wants to take an existing
one to the next level.

@EnteGratoI did not change the background with CSS. I made a background and uploaded it to the Beardwell image folder inside cpanel. If you need further explanation I am happy to assist.

@enteGrato, I can explain how to easily change the background. I am using Beardwell for this site:
take a look - different background.
Very excited about the transition options. Major thanks!

ok, i am giving away my trade secrets :) but I i used Banner Snack. Bannersnack.com. It is not a Photoshop by any means but it just so happens that i know how to get things done fast with that program. You create a small b/g and then insert your image and then you will see an option that says "colorize". Select #ffffff (white)...Make sure sure you keep the opacity at 100%. save. if you want the background transparent you are going to have to strip that out in another program. I can tell you where to go for that as well. last step upload to the appropriate modern images folder in cpanel. If you need any additional help or clarification just ping me.

Hi Adam - Modern is indeed a beautiful theme - I really, really love it. I am using it for a private sales travel site - and it really lends itself well to that concept. I have changed the headers and footers to white and added a gray linen textured b/g. The site is really looking good - it's very elegant. Just a couple of feature suggestions. It would be great if you could put the Pagelines Sitewide Background loader option back in - that would make it a whole lot easier to use patterned b/g's - which really looks good with this theme. And it is especially good in situation where the designer is handing off the site to non-techies after the build. The wonderful wave and zigzag headers just pop with the patterned background. Second thought - would love to see a light option for headers and footers - love the grunge gray - but a white footer/header option would be super cool. Thanks so much for the great work you do in extending Pagelines themes, sections and plugins. Really nice work Adam!
