@Stuck in the vortex-again From Wikipedia: "An antibody (Ab), also known as an immunoglobulin (Ig), is a large Y-shape protein produced by plasma cells that is used by the immune system to identify and neutralize foreign objects such as bacteria and viruses."

Weren't those destroyer robots in Let's Kill Hitler known as antibodies?

"In Into the Dalek, it is explained that the cortex vault, a supplementary electronic brain, extinguishes the tiniest glimmer of positive emotions. The view the show seems to take on emotions is that they resemble entities themselves; they are able to spread and occupy, to suggest and remain. By keeping the Daleks’ hatred ‘pure’, they’re denied the ability to fulfil the second half of their nature vs nurture development. They are incomplete beings." Is this spoilers?

The Family of Blood

The ending alone warrants this a 10/10.

I haven't seen Samuel Anderson in anything before, but based on the clip he seems like a good actor. His voice is deeper than I imagined it.

TBH, not a fan. The concepts just seem like a rehash of The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit. 6.5/10

I personally never had a problem with Series 7B's title sequence or theme music (and I actually prefer the S7B theme).

I dislike Martha's mum, the beast CGI wasn't the best in the world and some of the acting felt strange. 8.5/10

I took part in a very interesting guest lecture at the university today (well, at least the part I was there before I had to leave was interesting). The guest lecturer works as a professor of Film & TV Studies at Aberystwyth University, and the subject of the lecture was Fandom Studies. He turned out to be a Whovian, and talked about Moffat and RTD and also his own Whovianism (he admitted to having watched the leaked episodes for research purposes).

I went for Deep Breath in the end, not because it's newer but because it makes the audience question the character of the Doctor and the specifics of regeneration (i.e. where do the faces come from?). TEH, while ushering in a totally new cast and crew, did so safely. We were assured that the new Doctor would be a kind and polite incarnation like the previous one was. DB excels in making us question that assumption.

@WhovianJack @kyr95 @Master Michael Moon You mean "overnight audience". More and more people watch TV through other media than "on the night". The viewing figures will get higer when the final figures are released (my suspicion is the final figure will be around 8-9 million). The viewing figures don't also take into account the cinema screenings.

@Oodkind  @The Finn @TheOncomingHurricane @The Administrator I totally disagree. The question here isn't wether they act open an instinct, it is about that instinct. The instinct itself is totally biological. Why should someone, who considers themselves gay, not be able to act upon it?

@Oodkind  @TheOncomingHurricane @The Administrator But it ISN'T a choice to be gay, it's a matter of biology.
