It feels good to be home.
I must admit I was a little crestfallen when I found out the news. Black is a big name, yes, but, really, given that they're releasing 500 pages of already published material again then she really would have to be a big name in order to merit that. They should have just published it separately as an e-book.

@MowTheFrontLawn @Gustaff Ta, both of you; I appreciate it hugely!
2 hours, 17 minutes ago on Engines of War Review
@TheNightmareChild sees into your soul! What I liked so much about Engines of War was that it felt very self-contained and ended before it could give too much of the Time War away. It's clear that Mann sat down with one goal and that wasn't to explore every single aspect of the War.

@TardisBoy The Doctor: Hello. Daleks: Exterminate.... Exterminate.. Exterminate! The Doctor: Get on with it. Daleks: Why are you not giving us an elaborate speech about morality and ethnics while you try and think of a way out of here? The Doctor: *stares* Daleks: Self-destruct initiated.

Peter Capaldi just knows how to strike all the right notes. I haven't disagreed with one word the man has said in all his interviews. Roll on, August :D

Cor, another excellent analysis, John. I'll admit I've never agreed with your ratings 100% but this article is truly brilliant. Shame there's only one more piece to go (please, please correct me if I'm wrong). Great work!

@Gustaff The Doctor also doesn't bring up which body he's in. I.e. there have been few conversations where the companion has asked, 'so, how many bodies have you had?'

You know that feeling that you get when you're on a roller-coaster and it's about to go shooting downwards, and your stomach flips, and you're so excited. I'm getting that so, so much.
@shyx111 That's exactly it. It's not the episode as a whole that people really dislike. It's the ending. It's not a bad episode!
1 month ago on Unpopular Opinion? The Power of Three
The destruction of the Mackintosh Building was absolutely devastating. It was a hive of creativity, and seeing the likes of Peter Capaldi (and Brad Pitt, too, for that matter) voice their condolences and support of the rebuilding warms my cockles. Capaldi is just going to be brilliant. Though I'd love to see his Cher impression.

@supermoff Festival of Death by Jonathan Morris is a book I'd class as a must read. For some Eleventh Doctor action, Touched By An Angel by the same author magnificent - so sad and a beautiful love story. Dark Horizons by Jenny Colgan and The Silent Stars Go By by Dan Abnett are amazing too. Tenth Doctor stories: Autonomy by Daniel Blythe is a good fun solo Ten adventure, Sting of the Zygons (starring Martha) equally so. For more Martha, Peacemaker by James Swallow is a favourite of mine. The Deviant Strain with the Ninth Doctor, Jack and Rose is great and I have a soft spot for Winner Takes All (with Mickey, Rose and Jackie; really similar to Warriors of Kudlak)... hope this helps :D
@Planet of the Deaf Yeah, he wrote one of the 'Quick Reads' in 2013 - The Silurian Gift feat. the Myrka. It's worth checking out; one of the best of the 'Quick Reads'.
@ilyootha @Gustaff Yeah, and Tommy Donbavand wrote his Clara novel before The Bells of Saint John had even aired - though he could just go by Asylum and The Snowmen.
This is so exciting - I'm absolutely buzzing with excitement for all of these!
Connor Johnston.. you are my hero.. everything you have written has been astounding.
In the wise words of Donna Noble (whom you wrote about so splendidly a few weeks back):
"Don't you ever change..."
@Antee991166 In no way am I disagreeing with this article - it's one of the best things I've seen on this site. Ever. I too am thrilled that Connor has taken his own time to write this. He's my favourite person on this site now.
@Antee991166 Frankly, 100% of the people on this site are amazing people - it's just the idiots that stop by to take down the perfectly valid opinions of guys like John.
I already have all of these but I still must acquire this. The BBC are practically reaching into my pocket.
