@Izikiel@jpfajardo Wow, that is what you got from what I wrote. Go figure. Merry Christmas, then.
8 months ago on Bristol Palin Defends Phil Robertson of ‘Duck Dynasty’
@Izikiel@jpfajardoWhat is often misused is the concept of free speech. I don't see the issue here as being a matter of free speech. After all, Phil Robertson has not been jailed for the statement, has he? No one in this great country is granted the right to express an opinion, and take away the right of anyone else to express their opinion. And it seems to me the Palin family and their supporters certainly weren't preaching about free speech when Martin Bashir expressed his opinion.
It saddens me that a former candidate for the job of Vice President of the United States of America has such a misunderstanding of free speech. Well, at least when it comes to people they don't like. However, when journalist Martin Bashir spoke freely about her, her supporters all demanded MSNBC take action. I guess Sarah's freedom of speech only applies to Conservatives. They are the only people who cannot be held responsible for what they say.

I totally agree, Barbara!

@Klope62Thank you, my dear.
@Rickey@BWStephensI think after that season, they made the Top 10 rule, where the songs in the Top 10 counted 10X. And, I would be remiss if I did not mention a certain recapper for Rickey.Org called Jermaine's victory. :)

@NachitoPixiIt looks like it - Tessane has a remarkable 12 songs in the iTunes Top 200. But we won't know until the announcement is made tonight!

Thanks for offering your opinion. It is funny how we all react differently to artists. To be honest, I haven't seen/heard a single performance by Jacquie since her audition that has worked for me. And I think Will has had some of the most interesting song choices of the competition. LOL
Thanks for stopping by and reading. I agree, Tessanne is such a gifted performer, she it hard to deny. It should be interesting to see who makes it to the final next week!
Thanks for stopping by. Glad you enjoyed the post. I could live with Tessanne winning as well!
Thanks for stopping by and offering your opinion!
So glad you found a favorite and are cheering them on. However, I will point out reviews are not factual, but opinion-based. I wish you and your contestant well!
I liked last season. It was the All-Star season that nearly killed me!

She is not a lyric soprano, which is how the role was written.
The sound is not great - they haven't balanced the dialog at all.
Canned laughter/applause would be helpful.
And Audra is giving me goosebumps!
I think she is way better than I thought she would. I am enjoying it.
Honestly, this is not nearly as bad as I feared it would be, but I wish there was more Audra McDonald. Cause, she's amazing.
@ElleKay @hrstump @Carly123 So far, it iTunes sales are any indication of the voting patterns, people are reacting on a week-to-week basis, leaving everyone to up their performances or chance going home.

@jbeee I, too, am old enough to remember the original recordings, but thought Caroline's version was just without energy and focus. She has to start delivering again.
9 months ago on The Voice – Review – Season 5 Top 8 Revealed – Sexiest Show Alive
@Carly123 Well, I will say that I did fear she could be in the bottom for her sleepy performance of "Leaving On A Jet Plane" - she is way better than that. I did pick Austin & Kat, and thought maybe Jacquie would be the 3rd, instead of Caroline. I hope she picks better material next week.
@KariCook too true!
@Rickey @Prof Fate @NickRoman1 Yes, it was clear on the pre-performance tape that this was a song that was special to Caroline, she sang it with her parents, so she wanted to sing it. While I blame Cee Lo for many mistakes, this one was on Caroline, and he tried to warm her off it...

10 months ago on One Direction Tops List of Richest British Celebs Under 30
@HaiHi188 Those folks have not come thru the Philadelphia area, at least to the places I go and see music.
I was not trying to get into a discussion of one show versus the other, as my point was about complaints made about the steal. To me, that is much like complaining about Lazaro should have gone home in 8th, not 6th. Doesn't matter in the long run.
I feel I must mention, however, that of your list of other successful alums, only Jordin & Scottie still have their contract with their original record label. And with PP, we shall see - it is usually the second album that is the killer.
But when all is said and done, I wish them all the success they can earn. I enjoy watching the television shows, but don't really expect to find my music on TV. I expect to watch some entertaining TV.
10 months ago on ‘Reality Check’: Are the ‘Voice’ Coaches Screwing Up the Steal?
@TronellaAs someone who has an eye on the indie music scene, The Voice has contestants who tour around clubs and smaller venues, still making music. That is something I don't see much from the AI contestants. They tend to be more singers than musicians. The most recent AI contestant I read passing thru the area was Kris Allen, playing the say venues The Voice contestants played.
I am glad you have such great respect for the Idol winners. I hope you are cheering for Ruben Studdard on 'Biggest Loser'.
I am fascinated by your impression that critical acclaim is objective. Critics, by the very nature, are giving their (subjective) opinions about music. And if Grammys are all that objective, I will point out Milli Vanili and Starland Vocal Band both 'objectively' won Grammys for Best New Artist and Jethro Tull (featuring the flute playing of Ian Anderson) topped Metallica for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance Vocal or Instrumental.
@Tronella Over the course of the last 12 seasons, Idol has given us three 'stars', two winners and one 4th place finish. All in the first five seasons. So even AI could not consider a 7th place finish really more than a television moment. Hell, not even 2nd guarantees you all that much. That is why I feel as though the steal has yet to be a factor on The Voice.
And while I would say Adele is the better singer for me, I bet there are thousands of Katy fans who would disagree. Could they call the decision to keep Adele 'unjust'? From their subjective view, I suppose 'justice' would not be served...
@Tronellaa I would still stand by the thought that the term is really inappropriate for the situation. Who was the better singer/contestant is a subjective thing, not so clear cut. Because someone has a differing opinion hardly falls to the level of 'injustice', as long as both were allowed to perform.
Ultimately, we have yet to have any proof staying on the show a few more weeks, with or without the steal, helps a singer post-show, on this or any show.
