yinxzonlinsome if anything, I'd say this is definitely a step in the right direction because it allows Asian males (or at least a single Asian male) to become true participants in American masculinity. Lin is pretty much a god to me right now. Maybe some parents will ease off on the mandated orchestra practice.

This coming from a white guy. Let's face it, Asians are seen as model minorities because they work hard, provide little to no challenges to our masculinity, and cause virtually no social problems. That being said, Jeremy Lin's play makes Asian culture seem a helluva lot cooler than it did before. His quiet, humble effectiveness makes us non-Asians seem by contrast like arrogant, incompetent douchebags.
His style and play might not change all the perceptions non-Asians have of Asian culture, but it allows us to see it in a new, more positive light.
