The Unquiet Dead terrified me when I was younger. If it's anything along those lines, I'll certainly be happy.

For me personally, I still hold the show very close to my heart because it's shaped me into the person I am today. However, I've felt a lack of... shall I say, a bond? I enjoyed series 8 as a whole bar two or three episodes - the majority being some great pieces of writing. But series 8 also made me realise how the show isn't what it used to be, to me at least. When I was younger at the age of 9 or so, I'd plaster my cupboard with Doctor Who stickers, plaster my walls with drawings and posters all to show my love for Who. I don't know if it's the fact I'm going on 19 and have moved passed that stage, but I just feel (more recently) that I don't have the same amount of commitment to the show as I once did.

I'm not saying I'm 'out of love' or have given up in anyway; there's actually nothing in particular that's got me feeling this way. Which, is all the more saddening for me. I can't find a reason to be distanced from it, but evidently there's something. I guess it's just the thought that the show is one I've grown with and experienced every year and, like my feelings towards myself, gotten used to and am just waiting for something big to happen to change everything: to salvage my indescribable passion that I once had back.

I don't know. Maybe series 9 will breathe new life into the show. I hope so at least. This feeling makes me sick because I feel like I'm losing the only part of my childhood that's stuck around.

I like the sound of this. I've found the show lacking something lately. I don't know what it is, but I couldn't help but feel too 'used' to it and there wasn't anything fresh in terms of how the show delivers itself. I think this is the change I'll need personably to reinvest (not that I'm bored of it of course) but I needed something to make it feel fresh again.

I'm glad that this is what they're doing!

I don't see why that should warrant for not bringing the character back.

If anything, you should be anticipating their return in hopes they'll be written differently.

Personally, I think Simm and Gomez's Masters have been brilliant takes on te character; presenting fresh and definable approaches.

I love Michelle Gomez in the role. She's terrifying, psychotic, unpredictable but at the same time loveable. Can't wait to see what 's in store for us in S09!

Ditch Rex, return to Cardiff and I don't care whether they retcon, continue or exclude Miracle day.

MD was enjoyable, with it's bad moments, but it wasn't Torchwood for me at all.

I find it hard to imagine. Not only because of how the story will relate to the maain show and such, but because RTD writing something big like a movie while not being the showrunner is just not likely. Even if altering contacts comes into play, I just don't see it.

Then there's the detail of how successful (or unsuccessful) it may be. I doubt younger audiences would be appealed to any actor pre-Eccleston starring in the lead role, and if it was canon, that may affect sthe show somehow if it was a cinema- only fature.. The '96 movie flopped, the 50th succeeded because it was an eventful episode that could still be seen on TV.

Putting money into a cinema-exclusive film, starring a lead that young kids (regrettably) wont necessarily want to see, all the while not having it tie-in to the actual show just wouldnt work, I dont think.

It's a recurring article series, written for enjoyment purposes and to conclude if the science in said episode is in any way plausible. It's not taking the fun out of it, it simply analysing the science to evaluate the factual accuracy - it's not saying 'the science is wrong, this episode is downright errible'.

Why not have a little more respect for the author, who wrote all of this purely for everybody's enjoyment?

"I'd care for this article" was a, frankly, ignorant remark.

Clockwork Droids for me. The Cybermen and Daleks have become predictable, so seeing a monster that hasn't appeared in a whole was a nice change, not to mention they were handled brilliantly.

I did enjoy the Cybermen's appearance a lot more this time 'round. First Cyberman story I've thoroughly enjoyed since S02.

He may have a direct response to the part, and maybe the recognition the role supplies can be overwhelming, but he's also admitted to the role being great fun and he wouldnt mind a discussion about reprising it if he was wanted.

"A programme can’t have its fiftieth and then its tenth. I think that’s just confusing." Just defined Doctor Who in one sentence ;)

Honestly though, it's such a shame that he won't come back for a one-off at least. There was always a part of me that hoped he was waiting to return to do something - even anything little - for the 10th Anniversary. I admire and respect his decision of course, but it's still a shame.

Best of luck to him, however! Maybe the BBC will broadcast a look-back or some other kind of special on BBC Three? We'll see, I guess.

I'm totally glad she's staying. I still feel we haven't seen the end to Clara. There's just this atmosphere around her that feels like there's something unfinished. Not to mention she's a mix of what makes a companion great: care, empathy, eagerness, curiosity and even the hint of selfishness.

I often find it harder to let go of a companion rather than a Doctor, personally. Because the companion is essentially us in this world.

@The Lazy Cat Is Owner (Clara) Searching I truly think Moffat set-up a sub-plot with the TARDIS/Clara relationship but never concluded it. Either that or he intended to fit it into Clara's arc by making her a time anomaly due and having a poor connection to the TARDIS.

Similar to how Amy saw a picture of herself holding her daughter in Day of The Moon, but when the time came in AGMGTW, the picture played no part in either relevance or possibility to the plot's events.

@madscotsmandoctor I thought they defined the subject a bit too forcefully in regards to the fact young children were watching myself.

I understand not much may justify how your son may be feeling, but in time he'll find more to appreciate about Christmas than Santa. Family is mine, and though children want such a figure to believe in during such an age, I can see how some parents may not take too lightly to the episode.

However, it is a science fiction show at the end of the day, and the Doctor has alluded to himself being father Christmas in the past, so I wouldn't say the idea of Santa is at all totally tarnished.
