I'm going to toss my cookies. I haven't even had any cookies. In fact, I'm going to go home and have cookies, just so I can toss them!
Freddie Highmore really captures Norman Bates perfectly. He embodies the awkward, charming yet mysterious character that Anthony Perkins created, while bringing new life to him. Not to mention the fair resemblance the two have.
I can't imagine anyone else in the role. Highmore's Bates has become one of my favourite characters on TV at the moment.

Thank you, Handles! And well done.

I do really like Capaldi as the Doctor, and I think he's given a great performance so far. My only little problem - well, more of a niggle - is sometimes his deliverance of a line or his posture during a tense scene feels quite dramatically forced... if that makes sense? In Flatline for example, when Clara asked if the 2D-IS would work the second time, he turned to the camera and said "Absolutely!" I cringe slightly at that because I just find it 'typical' or cliche'd. I don't know. He's done it a few times. Not enough for it to really bother me or hinder my enjoyment of his performance. But sometimes it just feels a little cringeworthy.

@doctorwhotvuk I don't doubt it. But from the looks of the next time trailer, synopsis and such, I don't know if it will grab me as much. Then again, it may be a pleasant surprise.
@Salyavin @TARDlSkey Ah, I'm sorry. I know the feeling. It hurts. But still, it doesn't last forever. Being able to remember the best of someone is what makes their existence all the more valuable. :)
It's the only one I could think of that got a lot of comedic laughs out of me XD If you want more light-hearted ones in general, you can't go wrong with The Lodger, Robots of Sherwood, Dinosaurs on a Spaceship? :P
@TheTimeTraveller is the 12th Doctor I just can't make a joke out of somebody else's typo without making one myself, can I? :|

@doctorwhotvuk As I suspected. I'm particularly worried myself. The way I see it, the last two episodes (for me at least) have been the best of the series, I wouldn't be surprised if we dropped in quality for next week's episode.
@Salyavin Sorry to hear that. Hope you manage to cheer up soon!
How about, Partners in Crime?
@doctorwhotvuk I have no words anymore.
@TheTimeTraveller is the 12th Doctor And I myself wrote "ready" instead of "read" :|
@TheTimeTraveller is the 12th Doctor I ready that as "Ahhhh welsh I lived in Cardiff" XD
@Regenerated Catterson I'd be content with either TCI, TS or TToTD.
Yay! I get TDTWATW in town! :D Not sure if I should be this happy, given the episode :D

@AzrulnizamBZ The Doctor's no. 1 rule has always varied:
- Do as I say
- I'm in charge
- Don't wander off
- The Doctor lies
And now "Use your enemies' powers against them". It depends on the incarnation IMO. Well, that's how I chose to see it. Different train of thought, different rules.

@Gustaff @TARDlSkey @LGwalchmai95 I'd agree with that completely!

@deborahlange "Strong female characters", if you don't apply that to Clara, I seriously question whether you've paid attention to her character at all.
If I recall, Rose during her first two series and Martha during the beginning of series 3 did a lot of running, screaming and relying on the Doctor to fix everything. I don't see that nearly defining of being strong female characters.
@MartinSpencer Basically, she proved to be an exceptional Doctor by handling the situation well. But the methods she used to do it were the opposite of what most would consider good.
@Gustaff @TARDlSkey @LGwalchmai95 Moffat was praised for his originality and creepy ideas. Mathieson seems to be the writer to Moffat's era in the same way Moffat was to RTD's era.
I think Moffat respects Mathieson somewhat for his creativeness, going by the Extra videos. Which is a good sign.
@JustinTurnbull I'd be more sold on the outfit theory had she been wearing a bow-tie - to lend more support to it - or something. But right now, I think they've just gone for a simplistic, Victorian-esque outfit.
Also, I think the "My Clara" line has a double meaning. Moff hopes viewers will interpret it as her being a version of the Doctor but it will be the opposite. Right now, I'm more sold on the idea that she's chosen Clara to be a pawn in a plan she's been hatching for sometime.
@LGwalchmai95 I'm hoping for a massive picture of Capaldi's face just staring back at you, personally XD preferably with a 3D effect that makes it look as though his nose is poking out or something :')
@LGwalchmai95 I think he's the only writer thus far, including Moffat, who seems to have a good idea of who the Doctor should be and what his relationship with Clara should be like. He seems to write them very definitive, I think. By that I mean, there doesn't seem to be a need to develop their relationship any further; what we're seeing is what they are and should be, and I love it.
He's suddenly become one of my favourite writers. If he doesn't return for S09, I'll be hugely disappointed.
Remember the 'He Said, She Said' prequel? The Doctor kept remarking how perfect Clara was and even said "perfect in every way for me". But the conclusion to her arc didn't hold the concept of 'perfection'. The way he was talking about her made out as though she was made to be perfect. So with that said, I think we're going to get the solution to this by the end of the series - with Missy having a part to play in it.
Twelve also said in Deep Breath "Then there's a woman out there who's very keen we stay together" that and Missy's "I chose well" line last night is just... too coincidental. I'm completely sold that Missy's the woman in the shop, but how she relates to Clara and why she needs the two to be together still requires prolonged thinking time.
@Djornad @TARDlSkey I found that some episodes throughout the second half of S06 felt a bit rushed or with no idea of where they were actually going. But I still enjoyed them. Series 7 was most guilty though since it tried to live up to the big blockbuster theme but 45 minutes would never have allowed that to work.
The strongest thing this series has going for itself at the moment, I think, is the good use of 45 minutes. Even episodes that haven't quite stood out have still felt like they worked well within its runtime.
This is the problem series 6/7 suffered from but series 8 has seemed to prove that it should never have been a problem, really.

@TheAmazingSkyFaller™ @TARDlSkey Agreed there. It's actually the contrast between eras I was hoping for.
I@TheAmazingSkyFaller™ I'm not loving it in the way I love S05. But I'd say it's in my top three. I have been let down a few times, but the last two episodes are definitely two of my most favourite episodes so far... of the show.
@BollingerKnickers @TARDlSkey @yoshfiction @The Administrator To feel insulted and hurt by someone's perspective on your opinion goes both ways. Whether in the majority or not.
The way you and Yosh may feel regarding Admin's response to your viewpoint is pretty much how he feels regarding your responses to his.
@BollingerKnickers @TARDlSkey @yoshfiction @The Administrator To be fair, isn't that what's basically being done toward those who enjoy the series?
@yoshfiction @TARDlSkey @The Administrator I understand where Admin was coming from with his point and I didn't see any snappiness in the tone of his comment. I think you just took it the wrong way.
Like I said, try not to take anything personally.

@yoshfiction @The Administrator Yosh, I think you need to hold back a little with your responses to other people's opinions on the episode/series. I understand you're not a fan of this series so far, but it is coming across somewhat disrespectful; the way you're viewing other people's opinions in contrast to yours.
Just don't let your disappointment on any episodes get to you personally.
@usmandikkoladan We know each other. It's just a bit of banter.

I like these Extras. But the narrator really does cheapen the quality of them IMHO. Nothing against him, but he seems over-excited when he's talking and makes it sort of cringe-worthy.

YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW AMAZING THIS IS!!!!
@stargazer0118 @BollingerKnickers I've always seen the Master and the Doctor the same in many ways. Only the Doctor tries not to be. So, saying the Master would be proud is an accurate way of putting things, I think.
So... yeah. Mathieson for next head writer.
