@stargazer0118 Funnily, absolutely everywhere I've looked I've seen nothing but praise for 12. Hell, even YouTube. Which is a hard audience to please.
Give it time. It's only his first series.

Fair enough. That's your opinion.

Coal Hill returned in the 50th Anniversary, as a reference and at the same time it referenced Ian. During the episode, it established Clara worked there.
There, it's served as a classic reference and remains to be a relevant location to use.

@Runcible @TARDlSkey Yeah. Damn. That needs a shoutout too! :o

So far for me:
1. Listen - 8.5/10
2. Deep Breath - 8/10
3. Robots of Sherwood - 7/10
4. The Caretaker - 7/10
5. Time Heist - 7/10
6. Into The Dalek - 6/10
I'm yet to be totally disappointed by an episode, although ITD fell a bit short of my expectations.

@theshipoftime How was it useless just because it didn't have references? Given Clara and Danny work there and the episode essentially focussed on them, I'd say that's a perfect reason.
It's basically like saying using the TARDIS nowadays is useless because there's no references to every single companion that's ever been in there every few minutes.
@SeanBennion The psychic paper has rarely ever been used other than to get into a secured location. Not exactly a 'get out of jail free card' considering it's never been used as a deus ex machina situation. The sonic, if you notice, has rarely been used this series as a solution to most problems. The Doctor's only used it for the basic uses it normally has. It is yet to 'solve' any big problems facing the protagonists. And the invisibility watch was used wisely in the episode, not once was it used to quickly resolve anything. In fact, given it's prime function was to fix everything and it actually didn't, there's no use in complaining about it.
I think you should wait until they've done something major that's actually worth complaining about as apposed to just existing.
The way Danny stood up to the Doctor and sort of threw the spite back at him was so amazing. He's definitely coming to be one of my favourite (sort of) companions.

Went into the episode not knowing what kind of reaction I'd be leaving it with, but I actually quite enjoyed it. For now I'm steering towards a 7/10 but I can't really see that decreasing apposed to increasing.
I expected this Doctor's dislike to Danny to be a bit more extreme, but I found it quite tolerable. It worked into the Doctor's character and the episode and Courtney seems like a great character. I had worried she'd be the next Angie or something but she was likeable. Samuel Anderson was great - the more I see of Danny, the more I like him and his the way he reacted to the Doctor was fantastic, just made me like him more.
Also, nice nod to Eleven in there too. Heh, "Dashing young time traveller".
@Clara Laurinda @TARDlSkey Oh, no. I watch Graham Norton a lot, particularly when I'm a fan of the guests. But normally when there's a big Hollywood star on, in this case Denzel Washington, normally they forget to pay attention to those who are currently in TV.
Nice to see him get some attention towards the later half, although it did feel attention kept drawing back to Denzel. Peter himself looked a bit bored and annoyed.

@Mark McCullough @Chris502 That's like asking how did Eleven get out of the Pandorica in the first place given he was the one who gave Rory the sonic to get him out in the future? It's just a timey wimey thing to be enjoyed ;)

Let's get Peter Capaldi on the Graham Norton show! Yeah, we can have him sit there and be ignored!
Ask the man some questions, dammit!
So, taking a break from a lot of writing at college today, my friend decided to search himself online, clicking random different profiles with his name and up came about two or three thumbnails from his YouTube channel. Randomly, he did the same for me, and the majority of images it came up with were mostly my YouTube stuff, handful of website images and quite a few images from filming reports XD I had to explain my unhealthy obsession with Doctor Who since he thought I was just a casual viewer.
The look on his face was priceless though.

@ClassicWhovian @TARDlSkey I loved his dynamic with the Doctor. By the end, I felt it would be a constant back and forth between them, both intending to hurtfully insult one another, but will always have each other's backs. That I would like to see much more of!
4 days, 11 hours ago on Conversation @ http://www.doctorwhotv.co.uk/discusswho/062014/
@Ladydetemps @TARDlSkey Couldn't agree more. Then again, Psi is a computer. Get them both back on the TARDIS!
@TheTimeTraveller is the 12th Doctor Edge of Destruction.
@Calebxy Eleven honestly. He'll always be the one who will make you feel better if you seem down or make you feel comfortable in an uncomfortable situation - even if he's the one making it so. Ten was great too, but Eleven comes across as the one who will always cheer you up no matter what and make you laugh.
Ten makes you feel good about yourself while Eleven does that and makes all the problems in your world feel small compared to the infinite positives.
@Djornad @TARDlSkey I'd call it perfect, but purely because I love James Franco as an actor, Danny Boyle's a fantastic director, and they captured Aron's story beautifully. But close enough, is just as good.
I'm trying to convince my lecturer to add it to the list of films we're watching as part of our weekly Film Club. :P

@Gustaff Gotham doesn't air over here until October. I can't wait for it though. It's one of my most anticipated shows coming up! From the trailers and featurettes, it looks fantastic.
@The Administrator I...I found it pretty boring :|
Psi was such a great character. I hope he comes back in future. I think, out of all of the characters in Time Heist, he was the most interesting, with a lot of depth.

@Calebxy @TARDlSkey The odd word or sentence, yes :|
@Chris502 @TARDlSkey I pick accents up really well, actually.
David got me saying "Oh yes!", Matt got me waving my hands around and acting goofy, now Capaldi's got me speaking with a Scottish accent.
The influence Doctor Who has on my life has gone too far...
I know Doctor Who aims to be scary, and creepy - and at times it succeeds. But to ask whether it's actually suitable for kids anymore is beyond ridiculous IMO.

@Mark McCullough To live without stress or problems.
@Mark McCullough ;)
@doctorwhotvuk Damn. Was quite excited for this episode. Although the robot from the trailer (forgot the name) did look a bit silly but I hoped it wouldn't be symbolic of the episode's quality.
I'll see how it plays out. I'm hoping that at least the dynamic the Doctor's presence creates is enough to make me enjoy.
I watched '127 Hours' again today and I implore you to watch it if you haven't already. It's a genuinely perfect film, I'd perhaps even call it a masterpiece. James Franco is amazing and translates Aron Ralston's struggles and bravery wonderfully. The cinematography is stunning and he soundtrack is perhaps just as beautiful as the film. Listen to the tracks 'Touch of The Sun' and 'If I Rise'.
It's one of those films I can watch over and over again and never get tired of it. Seriously, give it a watch!

Another great addition, Mark. Some great picks! Thought "Shut shutitty up up!" Should have been in there too ;)
@TheBiPunishment I hope it's not all completely meaningless either. I want some death that actually has impact one way or other.

@YaelMoise @TARDlSkey It's kind of silly though. I mean, clearly it wasn't intended to be interpreted that way. Basically, every time Clara has been going on a date, she's shown to put a lot of effort into it. The Doctor's noticed and probably wonders how she's so determined to impress somebody like Danny when dinner with him will be nowhere nearly as exciting and amazing as so much as a little hop in the TARDIS. It's not a romantic-intent. It's just the Doctor's competitiveness showing. It actually reminded me of the scene in TPoT when the Doctor looked down on Rory's job in comparison to an adventure with him.
Really, you can chose to see it any which way. But if you really did enjoy the episode, I wouldn't let something as simple as that ruin it.

@YaelMoise Well, if you still enjoyed the soup...
@ClaraOswaldIsAwesome Wait until Mummy on The Orient. Lots of deaths be promised.
@The Cogitator Seriously, why two Supreme Daleks? Isn't it bugging anybody else?
@Oodkind The Crimson Horror and before that, I believe it was The Rebel Flesh/The Almost People.

"Robbing a bank. A whole bank. Beat that for a date"
Are you competing, Doctor? ;)
Now this looks particularly fantastic! Love knowing he's using his John Smith alias again, I don't recall Matt using it very often. Still hoping for an Ian cameo/reference of sorts.
Can't wait to see how this episode plays out :D
It was fun! Not spectacular, but worked as a standalone episode and some nice moments between characters too. I think the whole 'love story' (I guess?) worked better here than Hide.
7/10 for now.
@NightRises @TARDlSkey Exactly! It feels so subtle, yet so in your face too... if that makes any sense? The fact that it's also been referred to in Moffat-penned episodes is all the more interesting.
It seems like a very 'Moffat' thing to do as well; subtly referencing it so that it will likely go unnoticed and then it becomes a whole thing at the end.
Does anybody else thing a death for Clara may be potential or at least a 'close call' for when she leaves? I doubt myself that's the route they'll go with her departure since Amy & Rory kind of, sort of left by death and it may be a bit soon. But it's been teased twice so far in series 8 and both times Clara's responded by not wanting to know. Strax was interrupted when he said "expected lifespan..." and even though he said she was going to do quite well, he was basing it off her health - not by event. Then in Listen, the Doctor said after she was connected to the TARDIS, her whole timeline will be accessible from birth to death to which she replied with "Which I do not need a sneak preview of".
It's probably nothing, but the fact she's so adamant not to know a single thing about how or where she dies and the potential of seeing the end of her life has been brought up twice is intriguing. To me at least.
Personally, I'd actually want to know how I'll cob off.
@The Administrator And the trolls can return to their caves.

So Simon Pegg and Nick Frost have both had a bash at Who now. I always suspected it wouldn't be long for the latter to appear. Good-o! Love them both!
@doctorwhotvuk Come next week: "Final 7 Doctor Who series 8 episodes leak via accidental DVD/Blu-Ray home release" or something.
Love the cast already. Can't wait to see what's in store!
