The End of Time for me. This was an easy one. I don't agree with the interpretation of regeneration=death either, but it IS a valid and interesting view of the concept, and it was worth exploring. Even if it was self indulgent to some. I used to somewhat dislike it but it has become an all time favourite. I loved the Doctor, the Master and Wilf in it, the story had some holes but it was still very enjoyable and the acting really sold a lot of the scenes I am less keen on.

@bringmeknitting @Hibernus That depends. No one is wrong for liking or disliking the episode.. But whether the science is accurate or not, that is fact, not opinion.

@Typo42 Agent of Orange Or maybe we should not categorize people as if they're just cattle.
Whether the science is actually accurate or not, it did not look or feel accurate.
As a science fiction show, the science does not need to be accurate, but it certainly adds to the show. When Doctor Who DOES find a solution that would actually work in the real world, I would be twice as impressed as I would normally be. Also, it would be nice to actually learn something from the show. I'm a bit worried now that young people will actually believe in this ''science''.
The real problem for me though was the ending, what an awful conclusion. There was this big mystery about all those trees suddenly appearing, and how that could possibly have happened, and how we could possibly get things back to normal, and it just sorta went away somehow. What happened there? THis is what I personally miss in the show. At this point the Doctor should have come up with a clever solution, but we got robbed of that.
The episode was a mess. I was actually looking forward to this episode because it had potential, but it failed in every regard for me.

@DocWhoFan @yoshfiction They were alright, but if they are going to be recurring they should be fleshed out more.
@YaelMoise @yoshfiction @Gustaff @The Watchful Guardian I wasn't thinking about anything else. I totally wasn't thinking about anything other than playing cards and watching a movie. ( Are they buying it? Just smile at them and you''ll be golden.)
I'd like to play cards and watch a movie with Alison Brie. Oh and Tatiana Maslany. Oh and especially a girl from school. She's nice. =)
(Yeah, we got away with it. Just comment and run, just comment and run. Don't look back.)
Sorry. you probably think I'm weird now.
(You're not mistaken if you do.)
@Gustaff @The Watchful Guardian It isn't back yet. DWTV asked the members on it to email him about it and tell him your livefyre account name.
@YaelMoise @Gustaff @The Watchful Guardian At first I saw nothing wrong with it, but after all these comments I think I figured out what was wrong about the companion part....
Sometimes I do wonder how I am ever going to hold on to my innocence.
5 days, 16 hours ago on “Jack & River Returns Would Have to be Seismic” – Moffat
I really hope we get a new recurring character that is as good as Jack or River. Maybe even one played by Alison Brie....Just let me have this dream please. Shush.
@Gustaff @YaelMoise @Calebxy @yoshfiction It's also sometimes the comments online to be honest. Like the fact that I did not enjoy the Master return got me plenty of hate with people labelling me as all sorts of things I am not. If you are for the new master you are a ''social justice warrior'' and if you are against it you just plain hate women and must be against equal rights and anything that does not directly benefit a white male.
That whole thing is riddiculous to me, and social justice does not work if you yourself become the new bully. It just ticks me off. The show is less fun for me, and because I don't enjoy it I just get labelled and bullied by people I don't even know. Hats of to this site though, it happens less on here.
@YaelMoise @yoshfiction @Calebxy @Gustaff I still like Deep Breath, but not as a really deep episode. Just something to watch with your brain off. Listen was the episode in series 8 I would watch if I want to use my brain, and even that episode is kind of depressing. And the rest of them were either average or plain bad for me.
At first I was actually fully accepting of Capaldi being the Doctor and Matt Smith leaving, but since The Caretaker and Kill The Moon I have just not felt the same way about it.
@YaelMoise @Calebxy @yoshfiction @Gustaff The show doesn't make me happy like it used to. It used to give me hope. This series, after an episode I just feel distressed and unhappy.
@Mark McCullough @yoshfiction I don't hate him, it's just that I don't like him either. To me he is just some guy who keeps appearing on my television.
@Calebxy @yoshfiction @Gustaff I still call myself a fan, but my heart isn't actually in it anymore. Now I'm more into Orphan Black. If Christmas does not change things for me I'm out. I just want to enjoy the show again. I liked talking happily about it with people.
To be honest, one of the reasons I don't like Series 8 as much is because of the lack of characters like captain Jack. Danny is nowhere near as good as he was. I don't connect with the characters in series 8 at all.
@Gustaff @yoshfiction If anything, the finale made me feel even more alienated. =(
@Gustaff @yoshfiction Sorry I forgot, my opinion on what?
He is right in that last quote . Which is why I think he should have left together with Matt Smith. Nothing against the man, he can write amazing episodes, but I don't think he can write as freshly and interesting as a new headwritter could.
I agree with him that a Jack or River return would be big, it would be a major event. I don't know how to bring Jack back after Miracle Day though, as for River, it feels like her song has just played out by now.
@Calebxy And they make the 12th Doctor harder to like on purpose. The character that I am now supposed to connect to instead of him is Clara, and they just completely failed in that regard (at least for me.)

@Notsosmartguy Agent of C.H.R.I.S.T.M.A.S. @yoshfiction @Antee991166 I think it was better as it was, the 10th Doctor usually seemed fun, but he had a hidden dark side, and moments like The Waters of Mars were a definite surprise. Same goes for 11 and episodes like A Good Man Goes To War.

@Antee991166 @yoshfiction @Notsosmartguy Agent of C.H.R.I.S.T.M.A.S. Nick Frost is in it. He can make almost anything funny.
@supermoff wants Clara in Series 9 for Christmas! @stargazer0118 @TheBiPunishment I think that there have been ''signs'' of it in the past with other Doctors, but with the 12th Doctor they are really shining a light on it and it is more out in the open, whereas previous Doctors only had these moments on occasion. For instance: The anti soldier behavior/the attitude he has against Danny, the argument from Kill The Moon, Clara slapping the Doctor.
@Notsosmartguy Agent of C.H.R.I.S.T.M.A.S. @yoshfiction @Antee991166 I'm looking forward to Christmas. I hope it has a lot of comedy and fun in it, that is pretty much what I need right now. I'm not totally against a darker tone, but I already have enough issues at the moment as it is and I really want an episode where I can just have a lot of fun. I hope we get some great banter between The Doctor, Clara and Santa.
@Antee991166 @yoshfiction I did like him a lot in Deep Breath, but since The Caretaker and Kill The Moon I haven't been able to like him. The only episodes I watched that make me feel really good and happy were Deep Breath and Listen. The rest of them were either average for me, or I just did not like them.
@supermoff wants Clara in Series 9 for Christmas! @yoshfiction I think it's important for characters to feel as real as possible. With Moffat, I sometimes feel like entire characters only exist to further a plotline or idea he has in his head, not because the character in and on itself has a lot to offer.I might seem a bit negative about him, but I do like a lot of his work. I'm just not a big fan of Series 7 and Series 8.
@Antee991166 @yoshfiction My opinion on Series 8 is kind of negative. To form a proper view on it I will have to watch it again. My negative view might also have to do with how I am feeling about life in general. lately
I think that Russel T Davies wrote characters better, whereas Moffat is really good at making long storylines with arcs that span multiple series. Moffat has great plots, but RTD has great characters. They both have a lot to offer.
I personally don't really connect much with Danny and Clara, and with a Doctor who is not as open and nice as 10 and 11, liking the companions is very important. I don't dislike Danny and Clara, I am just kind of neutral on them. I have not warmed to the Doctor yet either.
To be honest, I think Russel T Davies wrote more realistic and real characters. I find his characters more like...real people. Moffat is a great writer, but sometimes characters feel too much like plot devices.
