I liked what Dineen said about his expectations of Nylander and I was happy to hear that his arrival and all the hoopla around it does not create any distraction in the dressing room, on the contrary. Glad that Dineen and Marlies are handling this very well.

I believe those who would be interested in being Leafs GM are already carefully watching/assesing the Leafs.

@Yaknowwhat  Swedish players are very safe bet in any draft, most of them make it to the NHL and many of them play long, long careers.

As I mentioned yesterday, hopefully Marlies make the post season, it is vital for kids development to play as many playoff games as possible.

It seems to me that the Leafs had an agreement with MODO on how Nylander will be used / developed and since the firings in MODO and overal mess in the organization, the Leafs called Willie back and let him develop with Marlies which accidentaly start playing decent hockey.

Randy was and is a good coach but was too stubborn when it came to playing four lines on a regular basis and being far too loyal to certain players and not playing the young kids. Having said that, the core group are even more responsible for his firing. Now Shanny will find out for sure what these players are made of and make changes accordingly eigther at the trade dedline or offseason after they miss the playoffs again.

Congrats to Team Canada, kudos to Team Russia. Fascinating game from both sides, Canada´s domination in the second period was unbelievable as well as the ability to shut down late in the third. True final, best game of the tournament, very much worth of staying awake the whole night.

@deedrag He is having great rookie season in Sarnia, he was very eager to come over to play in NA, which caused him some troubles with national team management. Still he is considered one of the most talented Czechs under 20, he already played against men.

I partially agree with Randy that shots total is not indicative enough and what matters is the quality of chances allowed/against. You may have 40 shots against but if they are inferior, low quality, from along the boards, without any screens etc. you may very well asume your goalie would be able to stop all of them. As I said, this makes sense and if Randy was able to make his team play that way, I would not say a word. Problem is that the Leafs are not only allowing 40+ shots against way too often (which theoreticaly would not be a problem if above mentioned style of play worked / was executed) but they are allowing quite a lot great scoring chances.

I do not mind Jake, however the Leafs have too many soft, offensive minded D-men and lack those hard nosed stay at home types able to play structured defense.

I like Bozak, he brings some highly sought skill to the table such as ability to win face offs, shootout magic, good penalty kill etc., would be great to keep him on 2nd or 3rd line. As long as games are decided by shootouts, guy like Bozak can get you lots of extremely valuable points.
