Thunder favored tonight... 3rd time this season.

@TheTwoHeadedMonster Thanks, these are the teams I am going to watch this season. Unless Portland completely melts down the Thunder's path to the playoff is simply to finish ahead of these teams. Most likely the same 8 will be in the playoffs this year unless one of these 3 edges out the Thunder. I think it is possible that 45 wins could be enough this year, but I think the goal should be 50 wins.

Is it possible some of these injuries are the result of the sponge they call a practice court?

I'm all about winning a championship but right now I just crave watching KD & Russ play 3-4 times a week.

We used to complain about Brooks' unimaginative KD iso's at the end of the game, but Sunday we ended the game with a nice pass to a wide open shooter who chucked an 18 footer from 23 feet away from the bucket.

@_justin @PJ's LAMB! You would admit it is amazing that the Thunder is even in these games with the 29th ranked offense, correct?

@claeys @seth_22 What stinks is Russ had a legitimate chance before getting injured. But if the consolation is KD coming back from injury to shred the league and grabbing a consecutive MVP, I'd be cool with it.

At least KD is ahead on LeBron in the MVP race.

If Presti just told Reggie that he will offer him 1 million (annual) for each win accumulated before Russ & KD return, would that get us on a win-streak?

@claeys @seth_22 @sammasaaron The biggest reason this would not happen is the enormous pressure to spend up to the max allowed by the league. The owners would not go for it. Right now the 76ers can avoid spending much because they are "rebuilding" and their owners get to save some cash for a few years while loading up assets. The FA rookie route would take that strategy away...or atleast render it completely ineffective

@claeys @seth_22 @sammasaaron That would be interesting, definitely have to change the salary cap rules but I think that would be awesome.  I think if each team had a max salary limit but no limit on individual players it would solve a lot of the issues we discussed (no incentive to tank, since you aren't jockeying for a higher pick).

@sammasaaron @seth_22 I think a cool way to do the draft is auction style where each team has the right to bid on selections with their draft points. Draft points are given in order of finish so the worst teams get the most. Where it gets interesting is you can trade draft points and carry them over to another year.  Then at the NBA draft there is a bid for the #1 pick then the selection...and so on. I actually think this one...with some extra thought would be plausible.

@claeys @seth_22 @greatwhitebuffalo I think you'd have to go equally weighted odds for the non-playoff teams. That also covers those who had a nice season but passed up by someone who basically traded into the playoffs.

@claeys @f5alcon @seth_22 I would think only wins you have currently earned in the season. So I doubt there would be much movement early...and like you said below, panic at the trade deadline.

6 days, 2 hours ago on Friday Bolts – 11.21.14

@claeys @seth_22 @greatwhitebuffalo It would..but be very entertaining. But yes a good team could get hosed out of the playoffs by a lesser team trading up. It would never work but if in place it would take all the incentive out of losing.

@claeys @seth_22 @greatwhitebuffalo There would certainly need to still be a trade deadline.

6 days, 2 hours ago on Friday Bolts – 11.21.14

@claeys @seth_22 They would have to have enough assets to trade in order to convince a team to give them wins..and in their case they would weaken their team too much to do any damage once they are in.

6 days, 2 hours ago on Friday Bolts – 11.21.14

@greatwhitebuffalo @seth_22 Its based on regular season...so you could trade Reggie for other pieces + wins (standings points) to help you make the playoffs or improve seeding.

Looking at the trade machine on ESPN, I came up with a brilliant (really stupid) way to stop tanking. Allow teams to trade wins/losses. For instance we trade Jeremy Lamb & a 2nd rounder to Atlanta for Kyle Korver and 3 wins.

Winning would be the incentive for any game even if you are rebuilding. It would probably actually need to be some sort of points system rather than changing the W/L record.  But the playoff seeding would be based on total standings points and those who don't make the playoffs would just be in the lottery as usual.

He was also known for having a very loyal fan base (okcbaby).

The Grizzlies announced Thursday that guards Tony Allen, Courtney Lee and Beno Udrih, forwards Jon Leuer and Jarnell Stokes, center Kosta Koufos and guard/forward Quincy Pondexter all are ill and are questionable for the Boston game.

The Thunder need to ask the Grizzlies how to let infirmities only affect role-players rather than the stars.

@The Adams Family I agree, I think there will be a huge boost in morale when they come back and I bet there will be motivational speeches.  But the results will be based on the talent infusion.
