@Herman_NYRBlog I agree but for a different reason. There's no mention of Tanner Glass.

@Josh-CK I highly doubt Kreids and his agents would go for that or even consider it. If they're asking for $2.8 million for a bridge, they'd be looking for much more money on a longer term deal.

@KevinTheNYRBlog If Sather can pull it off, I'm all for it. Especially since the speed on this team would be even more absurd than before with how quick Booth is and how quick Lombardi is.

After re-signing our RFA's would we even be able to afford the guy at $1mil?
Now that the list is completed...no Tanner Glass? This is a disappointment and I refuse to read any more of this site.
In all seriousness, this was insanely well done.

@KevinTheNYRBlog @JoshKaye Ah my mistake. This only goes to 25. Well. If he's not in the top 5 then I will be very unhappy as well as most of the Rangers fanbase.

No Tanner Glass? That's disappointing.
@nasoov @JoshKaye @stevmore Sure. Why not.
2 weeks, 3 days ago on Conversation @ http://nyrangersblog.com/
@stevmore Bad enough that he's still not being considered as one of the young forwards who could step in and make a difference next season.
@_Jack "His empty-netter last night was no joke, either. Tough angle." Is it bad I find this absolutely hilarious?

Are we actually caring about this? I get that news is slow but for fucks sake -- TWO Tanner Glass articles? We know he's not the best hockey player. We know he's not gifted. We know he won't be the biggest reason this team is either a winner or loser.
The guy is signed with us and he will be representing the New York fucking Rangers. It's done. Let's accept it and fucking move on from the guy.
@betweentheworlds Seriously? Why would we convert Zucc to center when he just had his best season. He's 26. Look at all the issues our centers had learning AV's system over the first few months of the season. A center has completely different defensive responsibilities than a winger and to just say OH LET'S CONVERT HIM is kind of silly.
Zucc has played wing for what I can imagine has been his whole career -- his whole life. To all of a sudden decide, hey let's put him at center!...I don't know. You do remember he also would have to win faceoffs right? I mean sure, he'd probably be better than Stepan but that's like being better than putting a mannequin in the faceoff circle.
3 weeks, 4 days ago on Conversation @ http://nyrangersblog.com/
@betweentheworlds @GregQuinn Are we really going to bring +/- into the discussion? It's a pointless stat. Michael Del Zotto had a +20 one year, yet he's still a terrible defenseman.
Yes, he has the speed to chase down almost anyone, but when playing in our own defensive zone there are moments where he's very lackadaisical and just doesn't seem to care much about what's going on. There are plays where he should be a bit more aggressive to get to the puck first and win a board battle to clear it out of the zone and instead he's sometimes the second person there. Maybe liability was the wrong word to use, but he gets a bit lazy in the defensive zone and just doesn't always look completely there.
Just because he's improved his defense doesn't mean he's a defensive wizard. His best play is when he's in the offensive zone where he gets to use his speed. You know what though? He's 23. And he'll get better at both ends of the ice. But stop making him out to be this savior. Since he isn't. He's a kid who improved drastically from last season but still has to work on his game.
Watching those videos got me really excited. Especially Buchnevich. The kids got skill. Also loved getting a look at Halverson.
@Blueshirts Corner ...I mean. He was drafted as a center coming out of high school. But to me, the way he plays, he seems like a winger. Mainly since he's still a defensive liability and I'd rather have a strong defensive #1 center. Also, I'm assuming he was switched to wing going into Boston College so it's probably been a few years. No reason to go switching him now.

I'm very, very okay with all of these moves. Nothing spectacular and these guys may never actually play for the Rangers. But just knowing we have them makes me feel a little more comfortable going into the season.
3 weeks, 5 days ago on Conversation @ http://nyrangersblog.com/2014-articles/rangers-boost-hartford-wolf-pack-with-flurry-of-signings.html
@betweentheworlds He's 28. He's the older brother of Ryan Bourque, who's 23. The way it seems, they're both AHL/bottom six players at best.
@MikeBlue @blueshirtscorner ...Guess we shouldn't be using St. Louis then.
3 weeks, 6 days ago on Conversation @ http://nyrangersblog.com/
@MikeBlue I mean. Whether we sign them next week or today, they're still on the roster or would be on the roster. It makes no difference. They're depth signings, plain and simple.
Brian Boyle signs with the Lightning for 3 years, $2.3 per
...Maybe what happened was that Pouliot deal. Seeing what he got, you have to imagine Zucc's agents/representatives eyes lit up with $$$$
Benoit Pouliot 5 years $20 million Edmonton. Mark Fayne a 4 year deal with Edmonton

....There are several names on her that I've never seen before to have any involvement with the Rangers. I know the players we picked and am aware of the top prospects...but some of these guys are a complete mystery to me.

@mando24179 This isn't in response to the point you're making here but to your previous comments as well. First of all, grammar -- use it. A lot of what your saying makes little to no sense and I feel like I'm reading my 5 year old nephew trying to make an argument.
When making a point instead of using insults and curses, try to sound like you know what you're talking about. Calling people the "village fucking idiot" or "asswipe" or telling people to "get a clue" will only piss people off and disregard your posts even more than they do.
So I guess what I'm saying is grow the fuck up and understand that not everyone will agree with you and if they choose to have a differing opinion, present your case like an adult.

I'm sorry but if we trade Dorsett and slot him in for Carcillo for a full season...no. I'm not even going to think about that. Derek Dorsett is a better hockey player than Dan Carcillo. You can go on and talk about the "Carcillo Effect" and all of that, but Dorsett was playing some pretty solid hockey until he broke his leg. And then in the playoffs, Dorsett continued to play high quality games with a small amount of minutes. Yeah, Carcillo provided a spark in that Philly series and probably helped give us the edge we needed, but over a full season I'd rather have the legs of a 27-28 year old Derek Dorsett rather than a 29-30 year old Dan Carcillo.
Dorsett has a surprising amount of skill, solid hands, is quick enough and solid on the forecheck, and he's willing to get a bit dirty if the moment calls for it. Yes, Dorsett does take stupid penalties. If you look at his career numbers, you should know that isn't much of a surprise. But look at Dorsett's penalty minutes month by month -- as the year went on he became a more disciplined player (excluding that last game against Montreal where a whole buncha stupid shit broke out). Dorsett is a solid 4th line player who deserves a spot on this team, and Carcillo shouldn't be the one who knows him off the roster.
Also, to whoever said Carcillo has more "upside" than Dorsett. No. He doesn't.
At this point I'd rather have Klein paired with McD than Girardi. Klein seems to be pushing the puck into the offensive zone while still playing steady defense in the Rangers zone.
1 month, 2 weeks ago on Conversation @ http://nyrangersblog.com/
@KevinTheNYRBlog @leftwingbarbara Well let's remember that on Girardi's first attempted pass he somehow managed to completely whiff on the pass. Which is why Pouliot is streaking up the boards and McD is nowhere to be found as well. Since they assumed, Girardi being a professional who has recently received a nice extension, could make a simple pass.
@Crylanders Considering he won't be playing, it doesn't make much sense to do that.

If you want to know about Tokarski, here is the only video you need to watch. You can literally hear Pierre McGuire orgasm.
I'll keep this simple -- no.

The hit was a solid, clean, hard check. I can't help but feel that the hit was a bit late. It's not something I'll bitch and moan about. Just an observation.
All of these numbers mean nothing. All I know is I am absolutely fucking terrified of what may happen tonight.

In 11 games played, Diaz had one power play assist and zero power play goals. He didn't look bad on the power play but after a few games he was just as bad as the rest of the team. The team as a whole in those 11 games went 5 for 33, for a whopping 15% conversion percentage. Right now, in 8 games we're 3 for 33, so that's around a 9% conversion percentage. Funny how much two goals makes that look better.
Fact is, I don't see Diaz being this catalyst that everyone expects him to be. There's a reason he's been traded twice this season. The guys a solid seventh defenseman. But he's just that. Let's say the Pens make a quick change and Crosby is out there against one of Diaz or Klein. I'm sorry but I'd take Klein in that situation or Diaz any day of the week. It's an unlikely scenario since AV seems to know what he's doing with changes but why risk it. Plus, Klein is sometimes inserted next to Staal when we have a lead.
Diaz won't be this miracle worker. We need to actually move on the power play and instead of trying to make the perfect play and pass it to everyone at least once, just take the shot and hope for the dirty goal. We seem to be afraid to go for the dirty goal now and those dirty goals are what we'll need for this power play to be successful.
2 months, 3 weeks ago on Conversation @ http://nyrangersblog.com/uncategorized/the-power-play-stinks-why-not-try-diaz.html
Yeah I have trouble fully blaming AV especially since last season Torts couldn't even get into the head of Nash to do anything in the playoffs.

Bad officiating? What?
3 months ago on Conversation @ http://nyrangersblog.com/
Hagelin has been pretty goddamn infuriating to watch out there. Aside from being a solid penalth killer he provides nothing at all. He skates fast, goes into the zone spins around, and turns it over. It's getting pretty goddamn ridiculous.
The way it seems nowadays is that for there to be a suspension, there must be an injury of some sort. There's only one way to take out dirty hits like this and that's by suspending players for hit hit whether there's an injury or not. An injury shouldn't be a bench mark, it should be a worst case scenario. Players will continue doing this cheap shots if they know they can get away with it unharmed.
But why should we have expected a suspension when Brent Seabrook only got three games for that hit on David Backes. Best part about that explanation video is that there's zero mention of the fact the head was the principle point of contact. It's always been known that the Department of Player Safety is a joke, but shit it's worse than ever now.
In a series like this Diaz would be eaten alive. Putting him in against the Flyers is an awful idea.
I'd prefer one of Carcillo or Fast. Fast seems to be more comfortable defensively and makes the smart play instead of trying to make something happen and turning it over like Miller.
3 months, 2 weeks ago on Conversation @ http://nyrangersblog.com/2014-articles/rangers-recall-miller-for-playoffs.html
Pat Leonard posted either what he believes the lines to be or what the lines will be -- the usual three, Nash-Step-Marty, Hags-Richie-Fast (...Richie is gonna be fucking winded after his shifts), and a 4th line with Carcillo sitting out. I'm not sure what to think of the lines, but considering we don't want to tear apart Zucc-Brass-Pouliot and we wanna keep the 4th liners as 4th liners we have six players to try to mix and match. That's proving to be difficult.

@gravey94 I agree with every point here. If Burrows had still been in the game, send out one of Dorsett or Carcillo to get in his face. The fact Burrows was ejected...there's no point to stir things up. Why goon it up? Just get the W and get out and on to the next game.
@JoeyKocur Yeah. Sure. Bring up Haley. It's not like we're second seed in the Metro division with 91 points. It's not like we're actually winning with the team we have or anything. But sure. Let's shake up the roster for a goon.
@SpazzBrown Eh, it seems like Moore could just about be ready to step in if McD can't go next go. We also have Falk...but...I know that inspires little to no confidence in any Rangers fan that exists.
@SmellyKisio Those two actually played together a significant amount last game. I did like what I saw.

@KevinTheNYRBlog @JoshKaye ...I know. That whole above post was sarcasm.
Zucc hasn't been invisible. In fact, he's been a solid player! Did you see how many times Zucc cleared the puck out of the Flames zone?! I mean hell, they don't even need to play defense! They could just have Zucc pass it to no one and let the puck trickle into the neutral zone.
Best part for the Flames --- when Zucc did complete a pass, he put it right onto the stick of one of the Flames defensemen. Win win for the Flames.
@Josh-CK That (insert any chance from the first period) would have been huge.
