@lwaldman @LindaElgart That is very kind of you to offer. In the fall we are swamped with work, and have many races in our area, but you never know!

Lee, get the tattoo! After my crash I had the following tattooed along the scars on my arms: "Como si la vida fuera a durar para siempre". (As if life were to persist as always.) It's a slogan from Valparaiso, Chile, but it applies to me. BTW, I am about to start mountain bike racing!
Lee, thinking of you. John was looking forward to your competition this year. I can say with experience of my two crashes of last year and the year before, that you will come back. It takes patience, and you are already feeling the love from your friends and family, just as I felt when it happened to me. Too bad we won't see each other this year, but we're looking for you in North Carolina (is that where it's going to be?) a year from now.

We were hoping Austin would be the following year, when we are in new age groups. For once a place that probably won't have snow and ice! Oh, well. We'll see how it goes.

Lee, I feel you. My story is different: I had a bad crash in May-broke both arms and my teeth-but I will be racing at cross nationals. I have no goals other than to be happy to be there, and hope to not crash! Best of luck with rehab. You'll be back.
