Kathryn, I love that you turn your crochet into art! I only tend to think about clothing and blankets - it's great to see this.
I have this book - it is absolutely wonderful. Lovely to see something not pitched at "learning to crochet" but at really making your garments wearable. Love the designs and everything is very well explained. Terrific interview!
@momwithahookAbsolutely! I was thinking of a picture of an item, not the pattern!
Interesting! Personally, I have no issue with Scenario 3. To me that is sharing information about what you have found in a way that directly links to the designer and gives others the opportunity to purchase the pattern. It's advertising! But the other scenarios? No.
I usually approach crocheting for others in the same way that I approach sewing for others - I only do it on my terms. Which means that generally I am a selfish crocheter/sewer, making only for myself! I support charities in other ways, and don't craft for money at all. If I want to make something for someone else, I will, but usually without much input from them (if any). This is my hobby, so I need to enjoy it. That said, I have made things for charity on occasion, but not with any deadlines. I have enough resentment in my life over who does the housework!
