I'm ok with the turnovers, just play hard!
@OBoy @fireBrooks i know but the concept of team includes organization and chemisty which is highly dependent on the coach
1 year, 6 months ago on Saturday Morning Cartoons: #Resiliency
@OBoy I'll take the bait and say Thunder because we had the best player and given how close the games were, a little coaching help would have put us over the top.
@OBoy @Dicharden @fireBrooks that was an anomaly, I'm pretty sure the mafia threatened Pop's family and made a big bet
@Sustainable Parameters the idea is that if you can send curvy reporters in there while the athletes are getting dressed, they're more likely to spill their balls, i mean beans
@Dicharden @fireBrooks I wonder if Presti has the fortitude to challenge Brooks on this or does he just let him run his show until he decides to fire him
@Old Man Game @fireBrooks no kidding, Brooks would have had Lebron taking the ball at the top of the key everytime for 48 mns.
Impressed with how Spoestra adjusted and got his team to play a different game than the previous 2. Higher tempo, attacking the paint, putting new players in etc. That's what a coach does for his team!
@TrueChamp @fireBrooks Good stuff :) Presti only wanted to give Brooks a 3 years contract so he must have had a hunch. too bad
1 year, 7 months ago on It’s going to be OK: A 2012-13 Oklahoma City Thunder eulogy
@TrueChamp Lamb needs more sleep, I'm surprised he didn't yawn this time
@GeezerSpeak I suspect Presti will tade KMart, he can be better utilized elsewhere
@Lokedogg Just because we ask for a system (or a better system) doesn't mean we want to change the way Russ and KD play. Even Michael Jordan didn't win until he had a good system. Our ball movement has always been pathetic as soon as the first option fails. The state of disarray we witnessed when Russ went down proves that players were just clueless out there, that doesn't happen with other teams. All these shots that were just "missed shots" are actually the result of a poor system where our shots are contested and our players lack confidence
@DurantBleedsChuckNorris The answer is simple, Brooks wanted to pad the regular season wins to show improvement and he was all too happy to ride Durant and Russ's 1on5 game all year long (while pretending to make "subtle adjustments" to the offense because obviously our players are too dumb to get a full playbook)
@BallSoHard who's the bigger idiot, the idiot or the guy who plays the idiot?
1 year, 7 months ago on Thursday Bolts – 5.16.13
@Militoni21 Judging by their body language yesterday, even that "play hard" talk is starting to wear out on the players.
@Amnesty Perkins @fireBrooks we can't have KD go 1 on 5 all game long and then wonder why he's not making shots
Its one thing to be a moron and keep using the same loosing strategy of having KD initiate the offense at the top of key all game long, it's another to be a hypocrit and blame durant/your players for "not making shots".
@Air Bud it's like the opposite coach has a strangle of Brooks' head and keep squeezing game after game. Brooks is completely helpless with his adjustments.
@abizn Brooks time has long passed
1 year, 7 months ago on OKC’s season ends early as Memphis moves on, 88-84
Why am I not surprised that Brooks once again weaseled himself out of this one by blaming his players "we didn't make shots". Give them a system to work with and shots will start falling.
@GREENE1148 @fireBrooks @FF_pickups maybe but I also think SVG put in place the best system for him to produce. Imagine if someone could do that with KD and Russ
1 year, 7 months ago on Tuesday Bolts – 5.14.13
@GREENE1148 @FF_pickups Look at how Howard is doing without SVG, people don't think he's the best center anymore
@Gyella @nowthatsThunderBball Is San Antonio a big market?
@FF_pickups @GREENE1148 Unfortunately we may have to endure another year of Brooks' doodoo before ownership is willing to absorb his contract
@KatieLL Old habits are hard to get rid off and it's not going to change in these playoffs and probably never with these coach. Anyone who can analyse our plays the way this article describes realizes we have a pathetic offense when it comes to playing as a team.
That is one area where I think Brooks failed again yesterday, not trusting and encouraging Reggie to attack at the end of the game. We were too predictable again going to KD and Memphis were putting 3 guys on him, not counting that KD was in an emotional funk again. Would have been the perfect time to hit Memphis with some of these nasty Jackson's drive.
@DXL This justs confirms that we're just a team riding two superheroes, one goes down and the entire fleet is in tail spin. If we actually had an offense you wouldn't see such panic/collapse, you would see a decrease but you would still get productivity out of players.
@Amnesty Perkins @nomad so you have to believe that whatever is happening out there is a reflection of coaching
@Amnesty Perkins @nomad @fireBrooks KD is a good kid, he will do what the coach tells him to do.
Do any of you wonder why it is that even when Durant is finally getting help from his teammates scoring wise, they still loose? Because they're still not getting help from Brooks. Then again that's to be expected because you just can't invent an offense on the fly in the playoffs. So we'll just have to keep praying for Durant to save us while the Grizzlies methodically pick us apart
@ChilamBilam12 I don't think it's fatigue, it's emotional. If he had gone killer in the 4th like he can, we wouldn't won
1 year, 7 months ago on Thunder vs. Grizzlies: Game 4 Pregame Primer
@Oklahoma City thunder for the win I wish Brooks could just let him create more in the 4th instead of just hiding behind Durant
@GREENE1148 @fireBrooks typically the team with the best player on the floor wins
@GREENE1148 @fireBrooks Bull, why does Chicago keep humming when they loose their best player?
it's obvious we have more talent than Memphis, why did we loose the last 3 games !!
@bobmcgraw KD got tired, it happens when you're 6'11 and you have to run point all game. Close camera shots even showed Reggie completely winded at the end. I see this as a consequence of their state of disarray, the players having to scramble and exert themselves just to keep up with the Rockets.
1 year, 7 months ago on The Side Part: Burnt
@El Prez K-Mart would be a better player in a motion offense. It's hard to judge now with the lineup mayhem that's going on.
@ EatSleepThunder where have you been?
@OBoy do you know why the thunder can't defend the 3? it's because they don't practice against it, and why? because you can't practice against something you don't do. So essentially the Thunder are good at defending their style of offense but not good at defending teams that move the ball around
@OBoy @fireBrooks @TrueChamp @Lost Ones 2010-11 is when Dallas exposed our lack of system/offense. KD and Russ were already special talent but unfortunately our primitive ISO plays doomed them. Somebody like Thibodeau or Alderman would have figured out a way to get KD and Russ, better/easier/open shots.
@OBoy @fireBrooks @TrueChamp @Lost Ones ohyesyesyes
@TrueChamp @Lost Ones We could have won the last 2 championship if Brooks was not our coach
@SexyWatt When you watch the game next time, look at what the other team does on offense, how they move the ball around and everyone gets involved, creating for one another. Now imagine if the Thunder did that with the players/talent they have.
@GeezerSpeak @fireBrooks @Patrick OKC In that scene Brooks would be the squirrel that runs for cover and decides to hack-a-nut while Durant is left fending off on his own.
@Patrick OKC It's like watching an animal show where the elk is fighting a pack of wolves at his flanks. Durant is valiantly kicking and throwing his horns around but you just have that sad feeling watching it.
History doesn't care about history, we just saw that with Russ going down, so this reference to an impossible 0-3 comeback is no consolation for what's happening here. What's more likely? that the Rockets keep riding their momentum, fine tuning their system (because unlike us they have one), taking Durant out of the game and showering 3pt shots, or that Brooks somehow creates a playbook on the fly? And put in place adequate lineups? and make timely in-game adjustments? and trust his team/players without hacking? Right, unfortunately the biggest challenge the Thunder face in this series is their own coach.
There's a big confidence issue now with the team which to me explains the sub par shooting. We really didn't have to change so much when Russ went down with Durant then running the point all game long. In Reggie we should trust and let him attack and score/pass. Durant can still run the point to throw the defense off especially in the 4th, but not all game long. For one having the point guard do its job keep the others involed, for another we don't run KD into the ground like we're doing now.
1 year, 7 months ago on Thursday Bolts – 5.2.13
@GeezerSpeak the Rockets are the flanks of the Thunder right now like a pack of wolves on an elk. KD is still kicking and throwing his horns all over the place but if you've watched these animal shows, you know who they end.
@Landstander @durantulous Russ is more of a running back than a quaterback
@Air Bud Harden may very well be the deciding factor of game5. odds are he will be better as a predator in his old environment. not as much pressure on him
1 year, 7 months ago on Thunder come up just short as Houston forces Game 5, 105-103
@Thunder, Love, & Basketball @DXL @sammasaaron the most amazing part is that all this actually happened while Brooks was on the bench, I'm not kidding
