Love me some Bill Simmons...he picked Harden as an AS reserve

RRRWHOAAAA 2 days in a row now!
I agree with you, a lot of years it seems as much a popularity contest as the starters voted in by the fans. I wish I coach would think, "Who would help my team win more, player X or player Y" and choose that guy.
commented this on another topic...
I'll admit Ellis has a good argument based on the traditional stats (points, assists, steals).
Consider that Harden gets 7 less mpg and has a much lower usage rate than Monta. I guess I like The Beard's efficiency (47-36-87) over Monta's (43-27-80).
Throw in Harden's ability to cover 2's much better (largely a result of his 2-guard, not point guard) size and James has a case. Granted, it's not Ellis' fault he has to share a backcourt with Curry, it does impact Golden State's bottom line, winning.

f5alconThunderup_13 He's the second best shooting guard in the West after Kobe. Only way he doesn't make it is if four reserve point guards are chosen, which could happen
Remify 3 in the top 8 and 4 in the top 20...and still the future is now
Remify Thank you kind sir. I'm signing up for insider today, seems like everything I want to read is classified nowadays.
Earlier on PTI Wilbon said the Thunder were the best team in the league. People, we got the respect of an ESPN analyst, which is one more than we had before today.
If the Warriors couldn't win that game against us, what chance do they have? How bad do you think they feel knowing they had nearly their absolute best and still couldn't win?
f5alcon At least one that I know of!
shiki In Vegas 7-7-7 is winner winner, chicken dinner
RRRWHOAAAA Don't miss Thursday's game at Sac-Town Rod
This team always believe it is going to win when it comes down to the final minutes of a close game. Our guys tighten up on D and are fearless letting it fly under pressure.
I think it came down to this: Durant + Westbrook + Harden > Curry + Ellis + Lee
Also... KD + Russ + The Beard > Miami Three Amigos? We'll find out March 25th, can't wait for that matchup in Loud City!
Westbrook's block of Batum at the end of regulation was such an athletic feat. Still in awe. I love RW0, not ashamed to admit it!
NBA does a much better job than "The Worldwide Leader"...if Lebron or Griffin had a breakaway dunk it would be #1 on top 10. Westbrook's block might crack the top 10...maybe
@f5alcon Of all the talking heads that have said anything, Durant's is by the far the best I've heard. No one else's matters on the subject. Clippers #32 threw the ball in the basket after pushing off with his left arm. Who cares? I'd much rather have the best record in the league than a series of highlights.
@f5alcon I agree.
What do you (and everyone else) think of this list?

The reserves chosen by TNT's crew last night were all over the map. I think PBT does a good job with a few caveats:
1. In the east, put Deng over Jrue, even though the injury has hurt his stock I like his all-around game.
2. In the west, I would take Lawson over Gallinari, he appears to be the leader of the team and directs traffic for their up-tempo attack.
Thanks, didn't think it was that recent. Makes my point off the mark, but it seems RW0 is a much better #2 than anything Orlando #12 and Miami #6 had next to them.
(I don't want to acknowledge players who hold their teams hostage while knowing all along they want out).
doot doot do do
