Listening to not just Simmons, but most NBA media outlets crush the Thunder for the Harden trade has reached the point where its not even fun to listen in, but the bottom line is, I think they're right.
The Thunder had a chance to have something extremely special if they could have kept Harden. They didn't, now they are clearly further away from a title then they were two years ago.
Perk is THE WORST starting player in the NBA. I agree that if they were willing to trade Harden, they should have made Houston take Perk too. If Houston had refused? Ok, we keep Harden another year and make another run at a title.
Simmons makes a good point that KD may not be patient enough to wait around to see if the Jackson/Lamb/Adams group pan out.
I know it sounds pessimistic, but I do not feel good about this season. I hope I'm wrong.

I get the Thunder's "don't jeopardize the future" philosophy, but the bottom line is they aren't beating the Heat any YEAR soon if Kendrick Perkins is their starting Center. They should be looking to move him. I think Gortat is an obvious upgrade from Perkins, he at least demands that the defense be honest when he's on the court. That certianly can't be said of Perkins.

Stop drinking the kool-aid man. There's no way we're better this year with Kevin Martin in our lineup than James Harden. It's ridiculous.
