One thing I loved about tonight is that Durant didnt seem to settle. Its to often that he just stands at the top of the key and calls for the ball 35 feet from the rim. When he is moving and coming off screens he is sooooo dangerous. Case in point: 1st qtr he comes up off a Perkins screen, catches the ball inside the 3 point line, takes 1 dribble, gets to the rim and jams it on Bynum. If he will move without the ball and catch it off a screen around the free throw line, game over.
@Thunder S I agree with you on this. I listened to Chuck post game and I think he just uses it as an excuse. We had 50 points in the paint tonight. We attack the rim and get fouled and hit our FTs. Some people act like we never get the ball within 10 feet of the basket.
@OBoymuzik Westbrook abused him. They went to it twice in a row, once Blake flopped and Russ got the bank, then that second time Blake had no chance. His hand up to contest the shot was about even with Westbrooks belly button
It is incredible how well Thabo and Harden can guard Kobe. Ive noticed Kobe posts up Harden a lot more than Thabo, but man.. I can think of 3 times in the 3rd that Thabo straight took Kobes cookies. Then Thabo talked trash to him after harden checked in.
What an absolute schlacking. After KD threw that one down on Bynum and Russ hit a few mid range jumpers in Kobe's face this one was in the bag. Plus when Nick gets multiple dunks in a game. Keep the energy and the focus going.
Is it just me, or does anybody else think it is absolutely gorgeous when Russ drives the lane, pulls the defending big man over to try and block his shot, then Russ jumps and get that pass behind the big mans back for a perk/serge/nick jam? The way Russ can get to the rim sometimes, you would think he could make an absolute killing off of that.
I would like it even more if they passed over Kobe as well, but doubt that will happen.
All this talk about the fan base giving Artest the silent treatment, how awesome would it be if the players did it? We all know that our starting five always come out and hive five/fist bump/hug the other team. How awesome would it be if they came out and did that, but all 5 thunder players skipped over Artest and didnt even look at him? kind of like a "we arent even f**king with you" kind of attitude.
I really think we will see an insanely focused thunder team tomorrow night. This is their revenge for two years ago and for Artests elbow. This team always gets up for LA anyways, and now with all this bulletin board material, round 2 of the playoffs, and this chip we seem to have on our shoulder, I think we will come out both guns blazing. Yeah, when you have 8 days off you can get out of rhythm a little, but I think theyve practiced hard and kept their eye on the prize. I can honestly see a 30 - 18 first quarter for OKC tomorrow night.
@Old Man Game @OBoymuzik Im right there with you Old Man Game. If they want Kobe to chase Russ all game, he wont have the legs to shoot in the 4th. And then who do you put on Harden? Sessions? Harden will DESTROY him in the PnR. In my personal opinion, when Russ is attacking the basket with that fearless attitude and that pissed off-ness he gets, I dont think any guard can stay in front of him.

@Legendary_dork @Jeremy2 Thing is, we dont know until monday. Hopefully Perk feels good and can hold down Bynum and we play just as hard as we did against Dallas.

@Legendary_dork @Jeremy2 Perk is built to defend guys like Bynum. Bynum is a numbskull and Perk wont take his crap. Perkins wont get backed down into the lane by Bynum and is great one-on-one with him.
I like this match up if Perk is healthy. I feel like across the board we have the advantage by far. Perk is built to defend Bynum, Ibaka has shown he can cover Gasol and his offensive game is escalating, KD obviously has the edge over Ron (granted Ron can play good D on KD), Sef can guard Kobe and gives him fits, and Russ will DESTROY Sessions. Plus we got the Beard coming off the bench. I think we have the better bench by far. I want a Fisher 3 right in Kobes face. Then Fish do the Russ 3 guns to him.
@Old Man Game @tydude LA just had to play 7 games running up and down the court with Denver. Now they have 4 games in 6 nights, including a back to back. gotta think they might get a little gassed.
@Legendary_dork Agreed, for certain lineups you might put Sef or the beard on him. Russ has really turned up his D in the playoffs. You just dont want Russ putting everything he has into D all game and being to gassed to close out in the 4th.
Sef and Harden always frustrate Kobe, and I really like when we put KD on Kobe for stretches. KDs length really frustrates him. I remember running KD on Kobe in the playoffs two years ago and Durant played great.
