JerrySanboxlunalicrichard I'm glad :) To be honest I never knew there was any stigma towards girl gamers until I commented on this post. :D

Wow, that's awesome :)

OlivaniaTaitter I was born in '94 and have an obsession with 8-bit, I get the original Tetris 8-bit theme in my head. Admittedly I would have loved to be an older child/teenager in the 80s, my mum was born in 72, I reckon that'd be perfect. When I started to be more aware, in later childhood, everything turned to shit, around 2001 :/

I wouldn't say either is more used, I'd say it's about even. Fanny is like a jokey word and is actually used as a name for a vagina. Cunt, although it means the same, is always taken as a swear word and depending on the context can be taken quite offensively, only vulgar people use it to name a lady's private parts. It's not that an offensive word though, no way near as offensive as it is taken in america.
himawaririkulunalicrichard I work, go to college and have a long term relationship to maintain. I also care for my mum and little brother. I have responsibilities, I just choose to use the time I have left from doing my homework and everything else to play games. When I'm with my boyfriend we play mainly two player games just for fun, and I play my platform games in my alone time. Real life kicks in, when I have the chance video games, I can escape from real life, even if it's just for an hour or 2. James is lucky 'cos playing games and filming etc. is his job, he's doing something he loves :)
lunalicrichardRosinaLucyCalypso Ahhh right, sorry for assuming that you're american, I shouldn't assume things like that. I guess it's just 'cos AVGN doesn't get much mention in countries other than the US. Saying that there must be fan bases in many other countries, I'm English and love the nerd so that's proof. I must have been american in a past life 'cos I don't fit into the moody English girl stereotype. You're really nice and fun to talk to too.
lunalicrichard Yeah, I think you're right, sorry, I never meant to imply that you meant any kind of prejudice, I was just interested in what you thought on the subject. Also, I know plenty of women in their 30s and 40s who like to game still, although, as you said, the ratio of older girl gamers to older guy gamers is aroung 1:9. I aim to be part of that 10%. I like that you have a lot of respect for Mrs. Nerd and women in general, you're one of the good guys :D
CurtisSchneiderFernandoLuis Well said.

senna4everMECHAGARYUltimateownage That's probably true, I try to find and appreciate things from my parents and their parents era. Most of my favorite music was out before I was born, hell, most of my favorite games came out before I was born. The 80s looks awesome from my perspetive, I kinda feel like I was born late. I am 17, but I try to evade being a stereotypical teenager. Sorry I though it was an american thing :/
MECHAGARYUltimateownage Haha, classic slapstick :D
MECHAGARYUltimateownage I'm from the UK, it's lucky English is my first language, no offence, but that was ever so slightly confusing, I'm glad you cleared that up for me.
MECHAGARYUltimateownage You sure do! Wow, I didn't realize it was such a big thing, I'd better remember that when I come over there. Also, what is the 3 Stooges, it gets mentioned in movies and TV a lot, I've always wondered, I'm guessing it's a TV series or something :D
y0ms3lf Yes I have, they've heard from me :)

Ultimateownage We sure do :)
HeXiGONlunalicrichard Are girl gamers viewed differently? My boyfriend thinks it's awesome I like to play games with him and are into all the classics. I wouldn't know a lot about online gaming (Xbox live or otherwise) as I'm into the kind of games James reviews, I think the most modern gaming system I use regularly is my PS2 (I do have a Wii, but don't play much on it), but I'm sure that's true of girls being cool to play with and not as short tempered. I think society doesn't know how to deal with girls that are the stereotypical "perfect girl", 'cos when a girl with a sense of humor and pacman bed sheets comes along, they don't know how to deal and think it's strange. In short, they don't know what they want. And I know people will think I'm being sexist, I swear I'm not. I think this rule just generally holds true with guys mostly, there will be guys that are different. 90% of my friends are guys, I'm one of the boys, so please don't think I'm being derogatory.

ljngamessuckClementPetit I know right? Imagine the effect it would have on the world if we lost just facebook and youtube. Not to mention businesses like James' and Doug's will go down faster than a sack of shit. Anyway, it looks like we're in the clear, the protest actually did something! I'm so glad so many people protested, of course we can't blame James for not taking part, it's completely understandable after the big move. ljngamessuck It's strange how you can live like a 20 minute walk from America, and still have no say (not that I'm saying you live 20 mins from America, you just technically could). :)
I think you look beautiful! As one who isn't very photogenic myself, I understand that that look isn't an "I'm pissed off" look, it's more like "Oh god, is someone taking a photo?!"
ShockzOddishGlodekova I didn't say you weren't nice, I'm sure you're very nice :)
Hey what did she do to you? Be nice please :D
